This band is hard mode for this particular challenge because Courtney LaPlante is the Hayley Williams of metal. She absolutely will write oddball stuff and force the melody to fit the lyrics.
Sleep Token is the first band I've said "this might be my favorite band of all time" since Linkin Park in the early 2000s. Only other band that has come close is Bloodywood.
@themaster408 Watching my kids go from "Ew, why do you listen to this?" To "Dad, can we listen to Sleep Token?" Has been one of my crowning achievements over the past year. Take Me Back to Eden is definitely a top 5 album for me.
Please do one for Northlane, you would absolutely go crazy with the belting. Thornhill is also something I would be interested in seeing how you interpret.
@@joshharrison9054 yeah, but it could be like it was in the BMTH video, where he knew some stuff but hadn't listened to the specific song (I think it was that video)
you should look up that video of his that goes over how bad he was for like the first few years of his singing career and then started taking it super seriously and got lessons n stuff.
these videos got me back into your channel after many years! its crazy how even tho a lot of the song becomes unique, there's still moments that sync up with the original. keep it up!
I feel like you were really close with the chorus, and the rest was all more or less in line at a high level even if some details were off. This is probably the best I've seen you do from this series yet
LMAOOOOOO I heard the first couple of minutes and thought "dudes listening to too much Linkin Park" and then you come out at 4:10 and say "clearly I'm being influenced by Linkin Park" hahahaha. Classic
That is a great exorcize in doing something that you haven't heard before. It inspires me to get my butt in gear and get something new done. Thank you.
I did know that song and I LOVED your version of it as well. Hearing various versions of songs that I already like is never a bad idea. This dude puts so much effort into every single of his videos. You'll never hear a bad version from Anthony.
What I LOVE about this series is it just goes to demonstrate how a singular piece of music is vastly different with how the vocals are arranged and performed and still sound pretty damn good. Too many people focus on singing as a vocal range but there is soo much before getting even close to that.
Awesome job, man! And it's fun for us (that already have heard the original) to see you getting so close just by reading the words and fiting with the melody! Your version rip it dude! Cheers from Brazil!
Suggestions. Haddaway - What is love (in Black Veil Brides style) Nightwish - She is my sin (in DragonForce style) DragonForce - Through the fire and flames (in DIO style) Angra - Carry On (in Avenged Sevenfold style) Sonata Arctica - Victoria's Secret (in Bad Wolves style) Slash feat. Myles Kennedy - Anastasia (in Foo Fighters style) Gemini Syndrome - Stardust (in Queen style) Madcon - Dont Worry (in Wolfmother style) White Lies - Bigger Than Us (in Distyrbed style)
Architects and Spiritbox are two of my favorite metalcore bands of the last ~10 years, but recently another one has appeared - Invent Animate For example some of this: Whithout a Whisper, False Meridian, Sleepless Deathbed, How We Used To Say Goodbye
I would love to hear you do just about anyone in the style of Tool. I suspect you could do them so much justice. I am consistently blown away by how talented you are!
Its so weird hearing a song I love being executed wrong really well, it's like an oxymoron , it's super weird! Especially with the constant fluctuations between (comparatively) bizarre timings and nearly spot on.
That was pretty good to be fair, it's fascinating to watch one person do their take on someone else's song, doing it without hearing it first though is a new one on me!
What a great idea to try and sing a song you never heard. it takes a lot of courage too. As always: thank you for your hard work. I always look forward to see your video's
Spiritbox is probably one of the hardest bans to do this challenge. You never know when it's going harsh or clean or the instruments are left to breathe. That's what makes them so great. This was fun to watch.
Best of the series so far! Not just because you were close, but because you made the rhythms work so well. Would still love to see you try Avatar's The Eagle Has Landed!
Would love to hear you try The Agonist--particularly with their previous vocalist (Alissa White-Gluz, who is now the lead vocalist for Arch Enemy). I'm sure they're not the only band like this, but the band used to write full songs and Alissa would write her lyrics onto the track afterwards, very similar to the format you're doing in these videos. Some particular recommendations for this format would be The Sentient, ...And Their Eulogies Sang Me to Sleep, or Everybody Wants You (Dead). I suspect The Agonist would sort of be maximum hard mode because they rarely use classic chorus structures, while still having *extremely* dynamic songs.
Jaded was the first song of theirs I heard in a world of warcraft pvp montage, I listened to it so much for like a week straight and then I started listening to more of their work, SpiritBox is awesome!
really awesome the creative process of how you apply your style in the songs, any of the new songs from Silent Planet would be awesome, even tho you are kinda seemed to Russel Garret, the Silent Planet Vocalist
This band is hard mode for this particular challenge because Courtney LaPlante is the Hayley Williams of metal. She absolutely will write oddball stuff and force the melody to fit the lyrics.
Yo, that analogy tho
we had Architects, we now have Spiritbox, but what about both? They have an amazing song together named "Yellowjacket"
YES, you definetly have to do Yellowjacket!!! It's freaking epic. I second this so much!
I was clapping when you changed the cadence in the chorus because it was getting really close. Enjoyed that!
yesssss
Please do Jinjer, it could be incredible but also tricky at the same time, i'd love to see how you make it your own
Anthony, do a Sleep Token song you've never heard before! I love this idea.
Unfortunately, I think he listens to Sleep Token. He has used their style before.
Otherwise I would ALSO love this idea!
Sleep Token is the first band I've said "this might be my favorite band of all time" since Linkin Park in the early 2000s. Only other band that has come close is Bloodywood.

@@JustStopPlayingGames so good.
Please do one for Northlane, you would absolutely go crazy with the belting. Thornhill is also something I would be interested in seeing how you interpret.
ah yes a fellow thornhill fan
Yes!!! That would be awesome
Thornhill would go so hard
Vincent's vocals singing this song sounds like you're on the Smackdown vs. Raw 2009 menu
I'm always amazed at how people like Anthony can read the lyrics, hear the music, and make it into a coherent song.
Was thinking exactly the same. That chorus change was mindblowing. And the mention of being influenced by Linkin Park ahah
Glad you picked this one actually, one of my favs recently by them
you nailed it. it has your personal touch and has a fresher room to breathe. it may has been off but still you gave a new perspective. well done
I would like to see a Dayseeker song, really love this series, you got really close with this one, great job!
Hell yea!! You basically nailed that chorus man! Fucking killer of you man!!
Crazy how close you got on the second chorus attempt! Well done! 👏 👏
Sleep Token or Ne Obliviscaris would be bangers. This was pretty damn amazing with that LP influence
Jaded! Fantastic choice, I fell in love when I heard this one, incredible vocals
Don't you just love how Courtney is always portrayed so chill in the videos while screaming her lungs out.
Great work, Anthony!
Suggestions for the next Bands:
•Ice Nine Kills (Meat & Great or Farewell II Flesh)
•Imminence (Ghost or Erase)
He's had a couple INK "versions" in videos before so there's a chance he's listened to INK before
@@joshharrison9054 yeah, but it could be like it was in the BMTH video, where he knew some stuff but hadn't listened to the specific song (I think it was that video)
@@user-hq2hg3bg8b that's a possibility
That would be awesome!
+1 on INK
I liked the melody on your cleans. Very cool but different take. It's cool how close you got to the screamy vocals in some parts.
How is bro such a good singer
you should look up that video of his that goes over how bad he was for like the first few years of his singing career and then started taking it super seriously and got lessons n stuff.
Jaded in the style of Linkin Park, huh? Look forward to it if that’s the case.
these videos got me back into your channel after many years! its crazy how even tho a lot of the song becomes unique, there's still moments that sync up with the original. keep it up!
You definitely need to listen every song from Spiritbox you can find on yt
I feel like you were really close with the chorus, and the rest was all more or less in line at a high level even if some details were off.
This is probably the best I've seen you do from this series yet
Is this AI? He was nowhere near the chorus...
@@GeekFurious Yes he was though... The melody was a little different but he had the exact cadence pretty much correct.
Try Jinjer next
Pisces. 100%.
Teacher Teacher would be a good one
😃 YEEEEESSSSS!!!❤
Disclosure would be cool
I’d love to hear him tackle I Speak Astronomy 😂
Love this!!!!! I love Spiritbox! Glad to see you like them too!

I'd love to see you try Mastodon, especially on a song with 2 or 3 of the guys singing.
Here is where the remade Song starts 4:37
That is a great exorcize in doing something that you haven't heard before. It inspires me to get my butt in gear and get something new done. Thank you.
The fact that you got so close to the original cadence on the chorus was pretty impressive.
I really liked your version I liked the original too but I would love to see yours on Spotify
SURELY, gotta do Jinjer - Tatiana now???? (plz)
Time for a challenge: Leprous - Atonement! Or any other Leprous song ^^
I’d love to see you try this with a Sleep Token song!
I did know that song and I LOVED your version of it as well. Hearing various versions of songs that I already like is never a bad idea. This dude puts so much effort into every single of his videos. You'll never hear a bad version from Anthony.

Great attempts as usual! I enjoy the series a lot. I think you'd have a lot of fun doing a Haken song you haven't heard!

I love these kinds of videos you do!
YOU HAVE TO DO THIS WITH ORBIT CULTURE
I think you did great! Jaded is one of my favourites by Spiritbox. They make exactly the style of music I really enjoy.

love this format! You sound great man ☺️🤘🏽 Spiritbox has to be one of my favorite bands at the moment ❤️
Anthony your interpretation was amazing.
Hell yeah! So glad you finally listened to them!
"They're All Around Us" by Poppy
I actually liked your version better than the original. Would love to see more of these!
Courtney and Mike are truly incredible song writers and musicians
It would be great if you did this with Make them Suffer.
imagine he tries Save Yourself
Ok, I am a ride or die Spiritbox fan. That being said, Anthony's arrangement was damn good 🤘🏾🤘🏾!
Best of the series so far! Not just because you were close, but because you made the rhythms work so well.
