Archery ELK SUCCESS | DIY Public Land Backpack Hunt

- Back in 2022 I got the opportunity to tag along with a friend (Chad Hazen) that I actually met out in Colorado during my archery hunt with my dad a couple years prior. This was by far one of my favorite hunts to date and still is today. Chad and I backpacked for a little less than a week hiking many miles constantly glassing and chasing after many elk. With lots of ground covered, a few mountain house meals consumed, some cold nights sleeping on the mountain, we had a few action packed days and some close calls, but towards the end of day 4, Chad filled his first archery elk tag! His buddy Matt met up with us just in time for the last hunt and the long pack out. This past year Chad, Matt and I went on a rifle elk hunt where Matt shot his biggest bull to date which will be posted sometime in the near future! hey guys that area looks beautiful what unit is that if i may ask? going elk hunting otc in sept and need all the info i can receive. some have helped and some think its the forbidden question. anyway great hunt love the area and look forward to more

@@johnnymartin9795 i went and had a blast got close many times had one bull running to me got 50 yards and another hunter messed it up but thats public. i help as many hunters as i can and volunteer for a non profit taking vets out hunting all the time. it may be the forbidden question to some
@@GrowinwithAJ thats nice of you to take people (vets) hunting, but honestly you tell people where you are hunting on social media, especially in the awesome video in question and you know what is going to happen....your awesome hunting spot that is over run with elk one year will only be over run with hunters in years to come. and who wants that? i am certain i wouldn't and i'm pretty sure i can speak for most other hunters. and that is why it's the forbidden question!
@@johnnymartin9795 i understand but i never ask for his spot but help which is 2 different questions. ive had many social media hunters reach out and help me and the group of vets i was with. i would never ask any hunter for there spot
@@GrowinwithAJ No you asked what unit he was hunting, you give someone the unit, it is only a matter of time before they figure out the "spot" so maybe spend more time scouting then you won't have to ask people for what unit they are hunting. chances are those people have put in their time. and that is why some people don't answer your question.
I'm going to say something that a lot of you guys are addressing don't breathe through your mouth they will smell you breathe through your nose when you are stalking

got a few comments on this, this was my first actual full film of a hunt like this so it's a learning process! appreciate the feedback though! I've got some new videos and full hunt films out and more coming soon, hope you check them out and like them!
