What do you think about Miami? If you do want to live in Miami, Florida click here: th-cam.com/video/Suy90GxbBX4/w-d-xo.html

Glitz, glamour, plastic, attitude-laden people?? Wait, is this Hollywood/LA?? No, it's Miami, so all that attitude people have come to hate from Hollywood/LA is not only in Miami, but with brutal humidity AND horrific traffic too? No thanks.
That said, obviously a LOT of residents/tourists like Miami and what it offers, but as someone who has been living in the big city and has put up with bad traffic, etc., settling in Miami would be like going from the oven to the fry pan for me. I'll choose a place like beautiful (and MUCH smaller) St. Augustine in northern Florida instead.

Thanks for watching! I think that is an interesting analogy. I go to So Cal pretty often because I have family there and it is a short drive from me, but I wouldn't want to live there either. Miami's people may be the best and worst part of the town. Miami is a bit polarizing, but a lot of people fantasize about living somewhere new without looking at the potential drawbacks. Other than the fact it is smaller, what do you like about St. Augustine?

@@BrothaontheGo My dad is a retired architect, so St. Augustine's beautiful Spanish-themed architecture is VERY appealing to me. It can get touristy there too, but it's still manageable vs. Miami (St. Aug's population is only around 15,000). I'm from Boston (hence the traffic frustration I mentioned before), but am strongly considering living in St Aug during the winter months. I need SOME culture, restaurants, and preferably the ocean close by, and St Aug provides that w/o all the other aforementioned headaches of a much bigger city.

Nice! It sounds like you have thought this out a lot. I’m curious, what is your overall opinion of Boston? I hear mixed things about the city. What would someone need to know before moving there?

@@BrothaontheGo Boston is expensive. Great attributes (higher education, medical, biotech, passionate about their pro sports teams, etc.), but November through April is cold and gray. Not the most friendly people, but that's indicative of the fast-paced lifestyle among northeastern cities like Boston, NYC, Philly.

THE BAD: $2k / month for a crap 1bd apartment, horrible traffic, Spanish is the primary language here. Lack of good paying jobs. People with money here made it somewhere else. Lots of shady stuff going on, scams, schemes, and the risk of getting ripped off every where you turn. People get into car accidents there, and then just speed away because they don't have a license / citizenship. Miami Beach over the last 5 years is just absolutely infested with ghetto ratchetness. Everything is overpriced for the tourists (Think $25 for a vodka sprite in a small plastic cup).
THE GOOD: The weather is always gorgeous, although the summers can be brutally hot. Amazing architecture. Miami is not that old, so there are no old crumbling buildings or rusting forgotten infrastructure. Everything (for the most part) is beautiful and well taken care of. There is a ton of amazing stuff to do here from taking a ride on a boat, shopping in Brickell / Lincoln Road / Bayfront Park area, to seeing Vizcaya gardens, peacocks cross the street, to some amazing restaurants and clubs. Very cool cultural stuff here, lots of different cultures to experience.
I call it a sunny place with shady people. Grab an air bnb and experience the day to day life before you move there. Don't just stay at a hotel and live the tourist life, that's fun, but that's not what you're going to be doing day to day. I would recommend Ft. Lauderdale if you want a more easy, down to earth experience.

Hey, thanks for sharing! I agree that the best case scenario anytime you move somewhere is to identify an area you'd be interested in moving to and actually spending time there. I think Miami is one place where the good is amazing and the bad is really awful as you mentioned. I see you like Fort Lauderdale, what specifically makes that a better situation to you?

America is expensive, and the woke mob, sucks. Move out while you can. Many wonderful countries in the world to live.

@juleshart8984 A lot of people have been doing that lately. I have not been to Asia before. Have you been to any of those countries and if so, what are your thoughts?

Yes I’ve been to most Asian countries. I lived in Thailand for three years and now in Vietnam for six months. You can watch the wealthy expat and the nomad capitalists to get more information. They are a great resource. Also thousands of videos on TH-cam. Start researching. 😉🤗@@BrothaontheGo

Asians are kind and polite. There are no homeless people, cost of living is low, and you find everything you need here. Your money goes a lot farther.
