This marvelous work is not only known as Opus 110, but also MWV Q16. I believe that Felix Mendelssohn composed more than 500 works, but only 121 of them were assigned Opus numbers. Almost all of the rest have now been assigned "MWV" numbers, each of which consists of a letter (from A to Z) and a one-to-three-digit number. All of the 34 "Q" numbers are for chamber music. The abbreviation, MWV, stands for German words that refer to an Index (V) of the composer's works (W).

I am very fond of the integral from 5:45 and then onwards, where I would definitely need angelous advice of❤ Katjuscha❤... ...is it rather - largely - in the dominant a-major ?... or not I do can hear as a transformation somewhere there a c-sharp... ...well almost for sure... ...anyway I like the mere density of notes there that do evoke with this major keys a pressing and agitated feeling but nonetheless very joyful and... ...radiant... ...it is but compelling and one might ask what Mendelssohn would have been to come up with, if it he hadn't been to come in that young... ...it is on hearing such integrals of music, what I consider moments where it is like a star that gets into being, it is with all its presuppositions and implications but at the same time it is not for most of humanity... ...you need to marvel at it and reflect on it thus to get shaped by it to store something thereof subconsciously... I always like the whimsical opening of the IV: Allegro Vivace and the two ritornellos...That all strings swipe must be so much fun to play!

えっ、15歳の時の作品⁉️ ピアノ六重奏曲というので弦楽五部はてっきりヴァイオリン2丁とヴィオラにチェロ2丁かな、と思いきやヴァイオリン1丁にヴィオラが2丁にチェロとコントラバスとは…‼️ イカシテルなぁこの楽器編成❣️ ヴィオラ2丁とは渋すぎる^_^
ヴァイオリンがキンキンうるさくならないので、とっても品の良い曲に仕上がってる♪♪
現代の高校生ではこういう感性の作曲する少年はいないかも…。へんてこりんな前衛音楽にしかならないだろうし聴いてられないと思うんだ^_^
ま、時代が違うけど、メンデルスゾーンは早熟で作品に品性があって美しすぎる♫♬🎶
