  • This is the final video of our 10 day excursion camping & overlanding all over California. You'll see landscapes ranging in elevations from over 10,000' all the way down to sea level. We continue our way north on Hwy 395 and then make a hard left and end our trip at the coast.

    Wow! Loved this series!! We've been up and down the 101 in our motorhome so many times, now we can't wait to do it in our Jeeps!!

    I'm in the middle of replacing my motor and clutch also a lift on my 96 XJ and can't wait to hit the trails again. I live on the Mendocino coast with limited access to legal trail's and it's great to see that there are still places to go worth going to.
    Thank you for the great video and the fire under my butt to get out there.

    Just watched this video. I totally relate to "struck out a bunch of times" when trying to find a camping spot. Awesome trip from the mountains to the coast. Other than the people, one of our favorite parts of the coast. Tending to lean more towards the desert when temps allow.

    Man that opening scene was serene! It looks like Leavit Lake? I’m right over the 108 on the West Slope. You should check out Lobdell lake and get to the top of Mt Patterson. (Unless you’ve been there already) I just rode over to Walker Burger last week. All the spots!

    Think you went north from Boca to Stampede Reservoir. There's a trio there between Boca, Stampede, and Prosser.

    Clever sunrise time lapse in the beginning. I remember those flies up there. Had to plug my ears because I felt paranoid there were going to go in my ears. Sea otter beach.... 🤣

      Yah...The flies are a bit much. Definitely a place I would want to go at least once, but really doesn't warrant a second visit.

    I searched fly fishing and camping and came across your channel. Diggin the locations and content. I noticed you don't respond to some of the viewers that ask for coordinates to some of the locations you visit. It would be nice if you would share that info. Especially to some of us who are starting out overlanding, camping...

    Yes, Tahoe is very crowded, I chuckled a bit when you were heading there..... very little diverse camping for sure, I always avoid it and just drive thru to the high sierra...Boca is ok with Li'l Truckee river to fish but 395 is King ;)...enjoying your adventures

    Yea its tough to find dispersed camping in Tahoe. I camped at a campground near Truckee once and got run out of there by yellow jackets. I would have taken a bear over those things.

    Been loving the channel! Random question: what mount are you using for your Garmin inReach? I have the JK Vector bar too and would like to copy that. Right now it just bounces around. Thanks!

      Its a Garmin holder that is connected to a Ram Mount...which connects to the Vector bar.

    what are the coordinates of that second campsite
    also, what is the difficulty level of the trail.
    would a stock height jeep make it there?

    In the central valley we'd call Tahoe "city camping"...too many people ...and that was 20 yrs ago..I can only imagine now.

    Camped up at that ridge once, and it was gorgeous, but the flies were freakin’ insane!!! The time I was there, I noticed a lot of toilet paper in the bushes. Not sure if that was the reason for all the pesky flies, but I’m sure it contributes.

    anyone wondering about the big sur spot its, prewitt ridge. great spot but always very crowded. if you continue down coastal ridge road south you can find alot better more secluded dispersed camping

      It’s closed because of fires.

      And it’s only temporary. Call the ranger they will inform you with the same information. It’s a National Forest and would be extremely hard to close permanently.
