"Trance is the same [Formula]" - Love you Ferry, but you created the formula and did it for years! The reason anthem trance is what it is, is that you defined it.
Most serious producers and music producers don't or won't "bob" their head(Notice Ferry doesn't move once). Our brains are going into what's called "active listening". We are breaking down each part of the song / sound we are listening to in a technical way. We don't really "listen" to music, nor are we capable of just listening
Interesting producer talk, not much in technical details but it was worth to know what is in Ferry mind regarding production. One of my favorite producers.
You're right I do ;) I used to study it via cans, to this day it still amazes me how clever and unique its' elements are designed and put together... It's the _Bohemian Rapsody_ of club bangers.
Best value for money trance synth by far - Hybrid 3. It's old, it's efficient, and it's deep. You can run loads of instances without boggins your project down. I picked it up on plugin boutique for $1 on black Friday sale. I think it's like $10 now. But I love his advice about bouncing down all your synths as you go, comping them as you go. Van burin does this too I think as do many. I like to group a synth or two, "bounce in place" on the group track, then disable the entire midi synth track (takes it out of memory). If I need to, I can come back and delete the audio bounce and re-generate the midi. Not quite as elegant as track freezing in Ableton, but I'm happy to do it that way in bitwig.
Follow your heart.. break rules and experiment! The host needs to do less talking.. and also stop following up on what the DJ/producer already said. System F.. hell yeah!
Guys (and girls), I don't want to be an asshole, but this is everything but a masterclass. Just a random interview with a screenshot of Cubase in the background. I just saw this 'tutorial' from ADE 2018, 'How to make techno with Tom Hades', and even though that isn't emotional trance like mr Corsten makes, it actually is a masterclass how to make cool and organic stuff.. th-cam.com/video/BqsHHHGkPxc/w-d-xo.html Ow, and a sidenote.. Mr Corsten talks about being innovative and then presents (imho) the most boring drums I have ever heard.. Well, that's probably the reason I think trance nowadays sucks.. Mostly generic stuff!
Masterclass?!? Hmmm. Hated the interviwer, he is just in the way. Mr Corsten seemed like a fairly cluless guy, or it's just an act. Do love his music though, and would have liked to see a little bit more actual production, insted of this shit. Watched about half, then gave up. Quick scroll tells me I didn't miss anything...
Ferry is 1 of the Godfathers of Trance and is a genuine nice guy. The Dutch and Germans were the masters of Trance for a long time.

Someone has seen Ferry pre 2005😄👊😎👍🖤I agree he helped creat the current formula alot of people use.
Moonman! You are one of the absolute best... And of course Gouryella together with Tijs... I remember those times very well. LOVE
Melody lowe
my dad had a ferry corsten album hella days ago. that's how i found out about him. dude is on point.
"into the dark" is a classic ..
This made me feel old. But then again, I am, 47, today. :)
happy birthday my dude
Thank you Brother! :)
If you can find his mix album from Moonshine records you should check it out😎👍
Kind of funny seeing this epic sounding trance track played to a room full of dude sitting in chairs, not even bobbing their heads

Ferry is an amazing dude. Have had the chance to see him perform numerous times. By far my favorite trance producer and DJ.

Amazing to see a Trance guy using Cubase Pro :)
What daw is ferry using? Sidenote: hearts beating faster is one of my favorite songs all time 👌🏻
It's Cubase!
Thanks! Love your channel by the way🔥❤️
Àmazing sound
So thinking outside the box for Ferry Corsten sounds like supersaws and Piano, drum roll, rolling baseline...at 135BPM ;)
You are a great guy Ferry! Quite liked the intro. Honest and straight to the point dutchstyle :)
Great stuff, thanks for sharing
Bodyrock is one of the most brilliantly made tracks of all time. And what a nice fella. [Edit: I mean "Rock Your Body Rock"] hehe
You mean "Rock Your Body Rock" ;-)

i hope the audio was directly from his laptop. :(
Nope can't hear properly.
And my god, how morose are the students!?
Did anyone else hear a track breakdown? I didn’t.
