@ndjnattydj incorrect, the track in the last two minutes of the video is Darkstar - Feel Me, later released as Rising Star - Touch Me (an Armin van Buuren project). - Ferry Corsten management
I know this comment is 3 years old, but seriously, I know how you feel. Trance music hits me so differently and I think you captured that sentiment beautifully in your comment.
5:58 = Best DJ that trance music has ever known, playing one of those tunes that would instantly give you goosebumps and send shivers down your spine while you were dancing, and you would do anything to get to the DJ booth and hopefully get the tune's title, and then pray to God that you would find the vinyl or cd somewhere and buy it... knowing well that you might not find it at all even if it wasn't a white label / non released, etc... Tiesto really knew how to take you on a journey, with magical tunes like these ... and the light technicians knew what they were doing back then too, now days they never know which moments need the awesome lasers, look at any Armin show, the stupid light technicians never do a good laser show at the right moments... and can we all tell the event organizers that we all hate the constant "put your effing hands up!" screams so that they stop doing it? ... Good trance music does not need to remind people to put their hands up, they just do, because they feel the music! ... it's trance, not stupid edm crap!
Ferry Corsten and Tiesto when they had youth!!! I really miss the old tiesto, and Ferry Corsten... when I say he did a remix for justin bieber, I told you everything...
WOW! Coincidentally, I was listening to Orbit's "Adagio for Strings" just 2 days ago :). Also, it was quite entertaining to watch the moment when Ferry rejected a track because it was too disco :) Love these From The Archives videos!
It seems that it was more about real dancing and music back then. But now, when I look at the beatport, I just want to cry. Everyone is on big bad kicks + shitty melodies. (Almost everyone)
yeah..good news is I think it's at its peak, it can only get better from here, I noticed it progressively getting worse, 2011 it seemed to start, in 2012 it became hard to find good electronic music buried under mainstream garbage, and 13 and 14 it's all completely destroyed by over-exaggerated buildups and drops, and shitty chainsaw sounding synths
bluex217 I noticed the same wave you mentioned...It has come in and taken us back to the dark ages of music...I sit here on the Las Vegas strip tonight...Billionaire Hotels and their pretentious CLUBS selling bottles of vodka for $500-1000 dollars ....along with their electronic massive signs 100 feet high (Maybe higher!) pumping David Guetta, Hardwell, Skrillex, Afrojack, and yes! a modern day 2014 Tiesto....Sin city indeed!
+Hugo Hakvoort only its the quantity and quality of the underground stuff these days is only a fraction of what it used to be 15-20 years ago. Technology has made us lazy either in the mainstream or in the underground
Dashoost Ofcourse there's lazy stuff, but take JOOF Recordings for example, that label releases amazing underground (mainly) trance with a high quality.
He had so much emotional passion in this video and it would seem like it all turned to ahh yea let's party all the time, I make this cause people dance now, and no other reason.. that's what I get from the changes in both his music and his persona during modern interviews
6:28 This is awesome giving and interview and mixing on vinyl flawless like drinking a cup of tea (without a headphone). I can name you a shitload of so-called high-profile DJ's who will be pissed when you talk to them during a mix!!! Tiesto is the best. Ferry Corsten what's up ?
Oef I am thinking about 10 years ago...... Mixing with some friends . numbers like Endless wave and Back on earth....for me Tiesto was on that time best of the best!!!!!!
@usa4lifeful Of course. It´s a matter of taste. If it´s more popular or not that´s not important. It´s all about the music in the end, so if you like electro, trance, house, minimal, or all of them then there´s no problem ;).
Over When She Left: Voor ons was dat natuurlijk een hele speciale plaat.
What is the Tiesto track around 5 min 13? PS- Saw Corsten live in Singapore over Christmas and Tiesto in Houston a few weeks ago; both were incredible shows, but i think Ferry Corsten took it!
Old Tiesto: "The beat is less important because every track has one... It's the melody that makes the difference."
Tiesto now: "What's a melody?"
times when trance was trance and tiesto was tiesto
I mean, it was eurodance trance (( but i was loving it
did you steal this comment from below or did you both just think the exact same thing?

Is the tune at 2.48 not Ferry's remix of Adagio for strings??
@@gainmaster1 It is
I swear I tear up when I watch this
The low sound and image quality really adds something to these archives and I love it
Tiesto is dead, there will never be another Dj as special like him, he truly was the king!!! :'(

I'm watching to this and I'm thinking... Those were the days.... Trance was trance, Tiesto was Tiesto...
Keep going Ferry!
when tiesto had soul
Money wins unfortunately
I think trance music is made for soul more than dance
I know this comment is 3 years old, but seriously, I know how you feel. Trance music hits me so differently and I think you captured that sentiment beautifully in your comment.
It was great to see Tijs so young and happy =)
But lifes goes on..
What good songs...❤
2 of the best dj ever!
"without headphones???!!!!" - "Yeah!" 6:28
Before meters on the mixer, all you have to do is look at the tops of the records(art work), if they spin in time, you're beatmatching is on
Cool piece of Music History!
