The US military was incredibly small going into WW2, because it downsized heavily after the first. It struggled to keep recruitment up because nobody wanted to get involved in "another European war" as well as the Great Depression, and it took like two years for it's industrialization and training of new soldiers to actually start turning the war in significant ways after the attack on Pearl Harbor. We lost basically everything in the Pacific at first. It just doesn't seem like it because all the movies and stuff tend to start on or after D-Day when we were finally able to throw hundreds of thousands of troops and vehicles at Europe after the North African campaign, or after Midway when the Pacific really started to go south for Imperial Japan. Granted there was really no way for the US to lose simply due to it's sheer amount of resources and population, and it's capacity for industrialization on a frankly insane level, but the first few years of the war were horribly bad for the Allies.

SMGs are even worse, those are the only aspects of HLL I despise.
If i were to name a WW2 game that was better if not the same, it would be Post Scriptum (now Squad 44.) It aims to showcase some really unknown theatres, like Greece for example. Also its developers have been revitalised from the dead and are back at it.

some of my core memories with this game is playing assault, 1 where i literally didn't stop running til the last point, and another where i played medic and had like 4000 support points, just because the server allowed for high ping and i was ballsy enough to run right across the path of 3 MG42's to revive the 6 guys that got chopped in half by them, literally dodging bullets chucking smokes, reviving everybody on the front and pushing the point because nobody could/would do it with at least 34 MG's looking at them
@@Kenionatus what are you even talking about? How is it more plausible that there are just 2 words to describe this tactic then 3? In english movies like saving privat ryan (Der Soldat James Ryan) or something like that its often Unterdrückungsfeuer because its closest to the english suppressing fire it is translated from. That doesn’t make it wrong to use it. When you think I am not German because I use Unterdrückungsfeuer instead of Feuerschutz… well I don’t care to be honest. If I take a look at the EU votes I don’t know if I even want to be a part of Germany anymore.
I am old enough to have spoken to many WW2 vets decades ago as a child. Every single one of them told me "We didn't go there to save other nations, we went there to make sure that it never happens here". The last 3 generations through that all away. Hell to pay alright.
One and a half-month playing this game, and this is coming from a person experiencing Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, and TF2 community, I haven't seen such *supportive* community. Here's what they have done to me: a. Endgame chat "commend low ranks ppl" b. Squdmate giving me tricks on deploying MG (hacks on St. Mere church tower) c. a rank 200 engineer guiding me to fortify Remagen d. A rank 150 tutored me tank gunner (he didn't have other crew, and whilst on critical defense Hill 400) It creates a sense of giving back. Currently at first, I kinda irritated with non-comms newbies, but I felt guilty. After that sense I lead non-comms squad twice: 1 when I teach them defense squad (lose but they were interactive with pings), and 1 win as behind enemy line flanking squad. What a game!

I really get a culture shock everytime I get on an American server (I'm from Europe but I don't pick a region to avoid getting into empty lobbies.) The American server is usually more talkative but very quickly falls into the "it's so over" mindset. On the European server it's more like a "I didn't hear no bell" mindset and everybody keeps trying to fight no matter how dysfunctional the team is.
Hell let loose scratches that specific itch I have every few months when I’m in the mood for a war game (specifically World War II ) the same when I have a itch for a apocalyptic game I play dayz
There is a huge cross over of Day Z players and Hell Let Loose. People thaf have the patience an want to play somethint more complicated with a steep learning curve than regular games but also has a huge payoff that keeps dragging you back in. Same with some tarkov players as well
I played it with some friends a time ago before the team 17 thing and it was cool all way through. sadly the squad desintegrated and i have no mates that want to play this gem with me anymore. cool video by the way 🙂
Honestly i was in what used to be Post Scriptum (now Squad 44), then moved into Warthunder because I loved the tank vs tank combat (now we have helos, ships, advanced planes and recon drones lol). Only started playing HLL this week with a friend, and its been a rollercoaster, we spend 10m trying to get a tank to the frontlines in like our second match but once there we had a blast, and so did the enemy team getting shelled by HE XD
I love the game and love the community. The combats so unique. Your enemy see's you first? You die. See them first? They die. Very simple, very easy. Most observant and careful soldier wins. Fire first, question later. Or you get blown up by like 37 different things at once. That's always great. So come on over. Find a server your interested in and go nuts. I do suggest a mic tho. It's a very heavy teamwork based game.
I’m almost at a 100 hours and couldn’t be more proud of myself. Level 47 and learned how to set nodes, how to lead a squad and best positions to place OPs when attacking and defending. Just learning how to place attack garries and defensive garries as SL
Bro this game gets me ptsd I remember playing this game I had voice chat on the game when I see people die I said "NOOOOOO" and I started crying that game still haunts me to this day
The increase in popularity has made it a varying experience, I have played in clans and have had the honor and joy to have great squads of both veteran and new players with me, which makes it ever so more soul-shredding to me when there are games with zero comms, squads without SL, etc. Knowing how the game can be played (from competitive to casual) makes it really hard to see literally time wasted in dead games, where people don't execute their role let alone try to and just sit in the same virtual space either saying nothing or shit-talking each other. Love this game and hope to add many more fun and great experiences to it in the future. Squad 44 has been getting good as well lately making it nice to swap between the two when one gets a bit discouraging to play :)

I nearly never make suggestions, but this warrants it: Primitier. It's the most compelling and promising VR crafting game I have seen so far. I don't even know how to describe the depth, but you can basically stick materials together and build tools and contraptions however you like. The game has aerodynamics, bouyancy and the works, meaning if you can figure out how, you can literally build a functioning helicopter. It's insane and it needs more coverage.
My first memory of HLL was sneaking quietly in a forest, laying down every 15 seconds and really taking my time after running and getting shot for the first 30 minutes of the game. I see two guys and they are coming right towards me. My heart is pounding in my chest, my hand is shaking on my mouse. All of a sudden they turn a sharp left, crouch running with their backs to me. I kneel up, get them in the sights of my tommy gun and let the whole clip rip into the exposed backsides. I missed every shot and one of them turned around and killed me instantly. 😢

Over the last 5 years, I have covered the Hell Let Loose Competitive Community, with their Matches, Tournaments and overall Events.
It's a niche community, with lots of dedicated players and ex-players, trying to keep the game afloat against all odds.
We'll see what the future brings for both PC and Console in HLL, but I hope it can grow. Thanks for covering our game habie!
The idea of Hell Let Loose incorporating elements from Squad and expanding to include other eras of warfare, such as modern combat, is an intriguing one. Both games have their unique strengths and a combination could potentially create a compelling experience. Incorporating multiple eras of warfare, including modern combat, could attract a broader audience. Players interested in different historical periods or modern warfare would find more content to engage with. Offering different settings and time periods would provide variety in gameplay. Players could switch between World War II and modern combat scenarios, keeping the experience fresh and engaging.
@6:35 literally played with Private Part yesterday we got spanked but the boys got gumption
6:18 The Iron Cross was used before WWII and is still used by the modern German armed forces.
I don’t think the iron cross was the problem
H1tler wore his world war 1 during ww2 too.
@@Some_Guy_6 I can imagine him giving himself one in WW2 but didn't know he got one in WW1.
Loved to play this game! And I agree with your video, the community was awesome most of the time. Thanks for the chuckles as well kind stranger :)
what's the name of the video where 1:20 is from?

Playing with a squad whether infantry or Tank in HLL is something that I will never forget. The coordination, communication and immersion is something you rarely find in this type of game.

what i like about HLL is that its a middle ground of Milsim and a simpler hardcore fps fun, practically like rising storm 2.
i had some of the most fun with randoms just chillin on a shed with snipers commiting warcrimes together
What a shock to find myself in your video, very cool dude!
It is him who needs rear pushing
Don't sleep on Squad 44!
I have had this game for about a month, and the first server I had joined was the best and I will never forget Spectator. He was the best at communicating with everyone includeing the other soldiers. But after that session I had only had one more server that my teammates had actually been talking to one another otherwise it looks about the same as that one clip without the audio from everyone else. This game is still amazing and I will continue to play it.
Always remember Red Orchestra and WW2 Online helped sparked the interest.
The only reason i got into the world of PC is red orchestra 2. Still my favorite WW2 game
It still is the best WW2 fps both Red Orchestra 2 and Rising Storm 1 for the Pacific theater and RS2 Vietnam is by far the best realistic Vietnam FPS.@@zagg8687

@@jmgonzales7701 The sights on certain small arms in HLL are goofy af and unrealistic and you can't attach bayonets also the distance rule is dumb as all hell, Kar 98k from 300 meters is a two shot kill? That's just not okay, that round has one shot killing capability even at 1000 meters, same goes for other semi auto rifles and bolt actions. SMGs are even worse, those are the only aspects of HLL I despise.

I learned how to play this game from a guy with over 10k hours ingame. The community ROCKS. Thanks Airaparent!
If i were to name a WW2 game that was better if not the same, it would be Post Scriptum (now Squad 44.) It aims to showcase some really unknown theatres, like Greece for example. Also its developers have been revitalised from the dead and are back at it.
Unfortunately I believe that the glory days of PS are over. I really enjoyed it tho😢

i just got the game i love being medic and everyone getting excited seeing you and calling you “doc” its so wholesome
The "hound dog 7" versus "hot dog7" debate back in the day was pretty epic.

You using the bretzel cutting clip from the series 'Schlag den Henssler' to show the state of germany is absolutelly phenomenal xD
Just realized that I’m the guy in the paratrooper uniform behind the tank at 8:32
some of my core memories with this game is playing assault, 1 where i literally didn't stop running til the last point, and another where i played medic and had like 4000 support points, just because the server allowed for high ping and i was ballsy enough to run right across the path of 3 MG42's to revive the 6 guys that got chopped in half by them, literally dodging bullets chucking smokes, reviving everybody on the front and pushing the point because nobody could/would do it with at least 34 MG's looking at them
UNTERDRÜCKUNGSFEUER!!!!!!
Good to know, that we are known as people who can cut a Brezel perfectly in the middle.
Awful translation.
@@Kenionatus what is that supposed to mean?
@@wilk2809privat It's Unterstützungsfeuer or Feuerschutz.
I only recently joined this community, and i LOVE it, I have not had this much fun in a game in so long
as per usual, my weekly dose of budget steve carell whisks away my depression
I am old enough to have spoken to many WW2 vets decades ago as a child. Every single one of them told me "We didn't go there to save other nations, we went there to make sure that it never happens here". The last 3 generations through that all away. Hell to pay alright.
2:20 I love that tune; it reminds me to Bully.
0:32 I may not be a historian but I don't think that's how it happened...
If you expect any cod player to have a deep understanding of history you will be sorely disappointed.
One and a half-month playing this game, and this is coming from a person experiencing Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, and TF2 community, I haven't seen such *supportive* community. Here's what they have done to me:
a. Endgame chat "commend low ranks ppl"
b. Squdmate giving me tricks on deploying MG (hacks on St. Mere church tower)
c. a rank 200 engineer guiding me to fortify Remagen
d. A rank 150 tutored me tank gunner (he didn't have other crew, and whilst on critical defense Hill 400)
It creates a sense of giving back. Currently at first, I kinda irritated with non-comms newbies, but I felt guilty. After that sense I lead non-comms squad twice: 1 when I teach them defense squad (lose but they were interactive with pings), and 1 win as behind enemy line flanking squad. What a game!
They let the hell loose of the game and made it heavenletloose
Omg, you had Mr. Bones in your vid??? This is my daily driver for a game. I help admin one of the more popular clan servers, I can't believe I missed Habie's latest vid on my current favorite shooter from one of my favorite creators.
Week 64 recommending the same damn game magitek vr, its pretty much avatar vr and it has all 4 elements and its pretty fun and you should try it because i'm sick on typing the same f*cking comment please
anyways have a good day youtube peeps 👍
This video was one hell of a ride. I loved it, and it gave me plenty of chuckles!
Mr habitual the one four seven pleasssse play post scriptum.
It's now Squad 44. But yes play Squad 44, its amazing
Damn this was a good video. I swear habie has been trying to persuade us to play this game for 2 years now btw. Also loved that he added a lil bit about the 80th anniversary of d-day cus I see barely anyone talk about it
I really get a culture shock everytime I get on an American server (I'm from Europe but I don't pick a region to avoid getting into empty lobbies.) The American server is usually more talkative but very quickly falls into the "it's so over" mindset. On the European server it's more like a "I didn't hear no bell" mindset and everybody keeps trying to fight no matter how dysfunctional the team is.
Dude most servers on Xbox have some communication but most have like zero talking and I hate it
Oh bro! Didn't even realize I was with you at 1:00! lol

Same with some tarkov players as well
Been playing for three years now, and it's my favourite game. It's the people and community that make it.
One of the few games youll have just as much fun playing in a squad with buddies as you will with randoms
Yes!
Me and my buddy hop on it almost everyday, we find ourselves having a great deal of fun every time
Hell Let Loose is definitely one of my favorite gaming experiences ever, even when I’m just dying and getting blown up I’m still havin a lotta fun
I played it with some friends a time ago before the team 17 thing and it was cool all way through. sadly the squad desintegrated and i have no mates that want to play this gem with me anymore. cool video by the way 🙂
Playing battlefield 1942 as a kid... let's just say HLL was the game I ALWAYS wanted
the OSRS damage sound at the start made this video so much better
uninstalled it a while back to make room, but this video reeled me back in. I love this game so much
Honestly i was in what used to be Post Scriptum (now Squad 44), then moved into Warthunder because I loved the tank vs tank combat (now we have helos, ships, advanced planes and recon drones lol). Only started playing HLL this week with a friend, and its been a rollercoaster, we spend 10m trying to get a tank to the frontlines in like our second match but once there we had a blast, and so did the enemy team getting shelled by HE XD
when first starting to play as an officer, the Commander greeted us all with the beautiful quote: "Remember guys, it's called the Geneva suggestion"
Just bought the game today. Hella excited
I’m almost at a 100 hours and couldn’t be more proud of myself. Level 47 and learned how to set nodes, how to lead a squad and best positions to place OPs when attacking and defending. Just learning how to place attack garries and defensive garries as SL
Dude some how I've re watched this video in my shorts. It's crazy first time ever. Brilliant video tho
“Uhh, there’s a tank on me… with a satchel charge on-“
*Explosion*
Seeing Habie promise to end stream after getting hit by constant arty, and then biting our nails waiting for the next one to hit was one of the best stream experiences I've had. Thanks Habie for your wooden stock weapon addiction, you beautiful bastard.

You have one of the purest, simplest, and most perfect length for topic covered videos I've ever seen. Thank you for sharing this bliss; you've earned by sub and those of thousands of others
P.S. I really dig that song you have playing for most of the video. What's it called?
I’ve been playing sometime. Although I’m crap at it. I still enjoy it. So immersive.
I grabbed this game for two used to be friends and they both did not have a good time - needless to say I’ve been playing this game since 2021 and honestly I play it religiously- good video I’ll look for you on the battlefield
I nearly never make suggestions, but this warrants it:
Primitier. It's insane and it needs more coverage.
you had gave me a chuckle way earlier in the vid but then you throw in the house building song and it was the cherry on top
As someone who has been playing this game since 2019... 10/10 video
Bruh the "I can't wait to go home and see my mom" clip had me in fuckin stitches
0:31 yes the UK did
But as we know the US even though came really late it was the Commonwealth Kicked the arse of the Axis
I play on Xbox and keep coming back to HHL. People play as a team, they’re friendly and it’s always a good time.
Favorite clip from HLL „Are you an American spy?!“
My first memory of HLL was sneaking quietly in a forest, laying down every 15 seconds and really taking my time after running and getting shot for the first 30 minutes of the game. I see two guys and they are coming right towards me. My heart is pounding in my chest, my hand is shaking on my mouse. All of a sudden they turn a sharp left, crouch running with their backs to me. I kneel up, get them in the sights of my tommy gun and let the whole clip rip into the exposed backsides. I missed every shot and one of them turned around and killed me instantly. 😢
"I dont think there has even been a more perfect WW2 game than HLL"
