Good tip for any new players looking to join squad 44 if you wish to avoid friendly fire and generally gain more situational awareness you Can quickly hit M to pop the map up to identify where your teammates are and where they arent.

Squad 44 has realistic ballistics when it comes to armor engagements. Yeah I gave S44 a try but ended up putting it down and going back to HLL. There are a lot of features in S44 that I wish were in HLL, but at the end of the day HLL is just more fun. Whereas in Squad, even when I was punching above my weight class and playing really well, it still felt like a slog.
2:26 I've seen a number of people doing this lately so I'm going to say it here: Mk in English military designations is an abbreviation for "Mark" as in type or model number (a US designation for this tank would likely be M11 Valentine for example). Saying the letters "M K" is like saying Roman Numerals as letters
Check your map regularly, habie, it really helps with identification part of the game. I bound it to one of my thumb buttons and it really helped me, I have it open 30% of the time to see where the game is going and where the allies are relative to me on the map
This - sometimes you will get killed checking the map to make sure you aren't about to kill a bunch of friendlies but it will help more often than taking the shot will. Once you get the uniforms learned that really makes a big difference also.

The community thing seems like a big W for me. I tried to play Hell Let Loose and my first (and only) game was absolutely horrible. The squads I tried joining would scream at me to get out of their team because I wasn't some uber veteran with a thousand hours played and when I made my own squad they'd announce "Don't join *insert my name here* he's a fucking christmas noob". Ended up spending the 10 minutes I was there solo'ing a howitzer then uninstalling the game.
Yeah the HLL community has gotten really jaded. I think they've gotten tired of having to be responsible for onboarding new players since the devs refused to implement a proper tutorial before putting the game on gamepass. So we had to go through two weeks where there were so many new players in every match it was impossible to coach them all. And they'd be running around stealing supply trucks, hogging artillery and wasting command resources, alerting the enemy to our positions, and flat out refusing to use their mics.
Yeah a lot of milsim games end up developing some seriously entitled, toxic, gatekeeping communities. And then those same communities will whine about not being able to attract new players to the game.
@@StalwartTirith Oh yeah for sure and I'll cop to being part of the problem. The community could and absolutely should be more welcoming to new players. But I do remember distinctly going through a phase of being really excited to help newbies out, and after the 8th or 9th time, it's just like "can we please get a tutorial for new folks?" I don't mind coaching every once in a while. Hell, I'm good at it. But I also don't think it should be solely the player community's responsibility to do that. There's a difference between having a steep learning curve and essentially requiring new players to either have a coach or to watch hours of player-made beginner guides in order to know how the game works.
After hundreds of hours in HLL I have never seen someone tell a new player to leave a squad, especially since it's a waste of time as the squad leader can just eject players from the squad if they need to fill up a space for say, a friend. Most of the time we vets will just let new players do their own thing so they can get the feel for the game on their own terms and in their own time. Unless, that is, they actively communicate and ask questions. If they do, then we do what any normal human would in that situation and answer them. I'd highly recommend giving it another go. The community update drama is extremely overstated.
The most important things to do is 1. learn the colors of uniforms/helmet shapes/weapons and 2. use your map to check areas for friendlies/see areas where there aren't friendlies. For example in the video the Americans have olive green and kind of khaki brown uniforms and Germans have grey. and if you checked your map regularly you would've know there was no friendlies outside of that bunker.

Well I think you picked the perfect time to pick this game up since it seems the next major update is going to add the Pacific Theater to the game with Iwo Jima. Honestly though one thing I've always liked about Squad 44 is how it has a bunch of underrepresented battles and factions in WW2 (at least in video games), like seriously when was the last time you saw a WW2 video game that let you play as the French or the GREEKS, I can't even think of a WW2 game in the past that even mentioned the Greeks. Don't get me wrong I like playing as the Americans against the Germans as the next guy, but I feel like you can only make so many Western Front circa 1944-45 WW2 era games before you start wanting to see other places. Lol this was a good video, first time seeing your stuff. Welcome (back) to Squad 44/PS. Pro tip on the Ally/Foe issue: when in doubt, use your map. I’ve played HLL and PS, still I prefer S44/PS over HLL. All it takes is a decent team with cooperative SLs and you’ll see why.
Yeah they just recently added about 40 new vehicles, and most American tanks got their roof mounted .50's added, so infantry can hop on that to support a push.
ya, i think OLD HLL is still the goat, but this game looks promisiing, with its own bugs and conerns, im so close to hanging up HLL. Game just continues to go downhill. just the other day i had 25 HITS not registered as kills. I even started a game, spawned, put 3 bullets from my M1 into someone, they shot me and I died, and it showed 3 hits 0 kills LMAO i was livid
I don't comment very often so I really mean this when I say this, but I love your videos. You've perfected the timing between topics coupled with the music, just perfect. Fully expect to see your channel explode over the next few years and am looking forward to being apart of it!
Nice! Some tips about identifying the enemies: check your map a lot, so you have some idea of where teammates are most of the time. As you play it'll become easier, you'll learn to recognize gun sounds, uniforms, and how they run and carry their guns. it's no issue after a while :)
Just a big funny tip as an MG or anything with a bipod. You can tap fire it at the hip and it can be relatively accurate on the first blips. OR you can use your buddy friend there and bipod on their shoulder when they crouch. Comes in pretty handy with those BS sandbag spots that are too high or you just cant fidget yourself on them. We're still advocating for a bipod overhaul someday. For both Squad 44 and Squad.
the garand gunshot sound in squad 44... is so perfect. for that matter most of the guns in squad sound so good compared to every other game made nowadays.
I've been playing Hell Let Loose on and off for 3+ years, over 500 hours, and I love HLL. The game is still as good as ever (that update they did i think they listened and fixed what they screwed up because it plays great right now October 2024, one month after this video posted). Usually there's like 5000 players peak hours. Squad44 I've never played, looks interesting, but average player count is like 400 when I checked during the weekend. Borderline dead. That alone is enough for me not to dive into Squad44, but I'm sure its a good time. Nice video, wanted to check the game out without buying and this was informative and entertaining
the germans are sprinting with one hand on the weapon, the allies are sprinting with both hands on the weapon. its a good indicator to seperate friendly from enemy
Glad youre liking Squad 44 (still always gonna be post scriptum to me). The 100 player update is what brought me back into the game. On maps like Caretan it really gets hectic quick when the enemy does a huge push because theres so much happening at once. The tank mechanics are also so good in this game its like a whole separate gamemode.
Man i really reaally am loving the fact that the rear sight on the M1 is a lot more accurate to the real sight. As opposed to HLL and CODs where the rear sight has a huge open ring when the sight in real life is a lot smaller peep hole. Just a little detail i caught
a quick tip for any new players to Squad, if youre ever unsure of who to shoot, you can quickly open your map, see if there are any allies in the direction youre facing.
Number 1 thing you should be doing is checking your map, same goes for regular SQUAD. See a couple guys in front of you, open the map, if there’s no friendlies in that direction you know they’re enemy. (Bind your map to something accessible like extra mouse button)
i play a lot of squad. another easy way to confirm enemies or friendlies other other than their uniform is tapping m and zooming in, it keeps you centered and if theres not a friendly logo where youre looking its an enemy. thats what i did when i was new to it
Btw there are some techniques to find out if the person is your enemy or not. First: You can adjust how big and how transparent the names of your teammates are. Second: Allies hold their weapons with two hands when they are running. Germans only onehanded. Third: Look at the different helmets. They are more different than other parts. Forth: You can reinsure you if there are teammates by looking at the map pressing M and zoom with N or pressing Enter.
One thing I learned in my thousands of hours in squad is to use your map to gauge friendly/enemy presence. your map button should be worn out with how much you'll be using it to confirm if the person in front of you is friendly or not, unless it's different in squad 44 but in squad your friends are on the map.
I recommend u to bind map to a close button so you can fast check map constantly, which will make ur gaming experience in squad games much better, one u know there are few to no allies in front of u u will feeel mor safe to shoot at anything.
You should 100% try Squad 44 armor, and bring Cory along. It's such a different experience from any other game, even Hell Let Loose's armor. Tanks are faster, damage is less forgiving... it truly is suffering. And it's so much fun.

@@toh6261 You can also get stalite! also if you're on the english channel I'm pretty sure you can get a signal
Nice action!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have loved this game, Beyond the Wire, and Squad ever since I played the betas for all three, but I’m most excited to see Squad44 get revived as that had the best memories… I hope we see Beyond the Wire get turned into Squad17
THE PERSHING IS IN SQUAD 44????????? Okay, now I have to play it. It's my favorite WWII tank and it's almost never featured in FPS's.
Yeah they just recently added about 40 new vehicles, and most American tanks got their roof mounted .50's added, so infantry can hop on that to support a push.
Play enlisted by far the best ww game there is
Habie, you would love gun world vr it has trash graphics but its like still an amazing game!
Hell Let Loose died with James Light. RIP a legend.
ya, i think OLD HLL is still the goat, but this game looks promisiing, with its own bugs and conerns, im so close to hanging up HLL. Game just continues to go downhill. just the other day i had 25 HITS not registered as kills. I even started a game, spawned, put 3 bullets from my M1 into someone, they shot me and I died, and it showed 3 hits 0 kills LMAO i was livid
This game has always been great it deserves way more players.
I don't comment very often so I really mean this when I say this, but I love your videos. You've perfected the timing between topics coupled with the music, just perfect. Fully expect to see your channel explode over the next few years and am looking forward to being apart of it!
Oh man, your videos are awesome. Those editing skills and humor are top tier
watching this in black and white is so fitting
hi habie147! Love the content, man!
Nice! Some tips about identifying the enemies: check your map a lot, so you have some idea of where teammates are most of the time. As you play it'll become easier, you'll learn to recognize gun sounds, uniforms, and how they run and carry their guns. it's no issue after a while :)
I really needed the “love yourself” today habie. Great video as always!
Still finna play hell let loose
So glad this game is getting attention
Just a big funny tip as an MG or anything with a bipod. You can tap fire it at the hip and it can be relatively accurate on the first blips. OR you can use your buddy friend there and bipod on their shoulder when they crouch. Comes in pretty handy with those BS sandbag spots that are too high or you just cant fidget yourself on them. We're still advocating for a bipod overhaul someday.
For both Squad 44 and Squad.
As a long time post scriptum player it’s amazing to see the revival hll went so far down hill since team17 took over development
Glad you liked it! The eerie gore combined with the banter makes this game so good!
I'm the guy with mortar at the begining, i was so pissed when you did that because you got us both killed jajja, nice video !!
Also, check your map, knowing where friendlies are helps alot
Thanks for the timestamp on where the sponsored part was over, that alone has earned you a sub from me! :)
Yooo that was me on the mortar lmao. I was wondering why you walked up to the tube 🤣🤣
I was a hardcore player of Post Scriptum back in the day. But after watching this i think i might return back to it
the garand gunshot sound in squad 44... is so perfect. for that matter most of the guns in squad sound so good compared to every other game made nowadays.
The humour in this video is top notch!
i appreciate time code mention to your good footage, so thanks !
My veteran friend once taught me "friendly fire isn't"
Man i really reaally am loving the fact that the rear sight on the M1 is a lot more accurate to the real sight. As opposed to HLL and CODs where the rear sight has a huge open ring when the sight in real life is a lot smaller peep hole. Just a little detail i caught
Fantastic review 👏 love the new squad 44 updates.
I love your content and you have a smooth voice. I hope that they turn HLL around so I can see you on the battlefield
Post Scriptum/squad 44 is a childhood memory to me now lol
I love this game :)
Youre very young
Habie calling a WW2 game "lore accurate" is so damn smooth brain I love it xD
Another awesome video, thank you so much
a quick tip for any new players to Squad, if youre ever unsure of who to shoot, you can quickly open your map, see if there are any allies in the direction youre facing.
Hey this is a nice channel. You're funny and articulate and you use memes.
Liked and subbed.
mor than a giggle, i smiled the whole time.thank you
My headphones have a cruel sense of humor for turning up my volume before playing the video
Number 1 thing you should be doing is checking your map, same goes for regular SQUAD. See a couple guys in front of you, open the map, if there’s no friendlies in that direction you know they’re enemy. (Bind your map to something accessible like extra mouse button)
2:40 thats me on da gun. ; )
i play a lot of squad. another easy way to confirm enemies or friendlies other other than their uniform is tapping m and zooming in, it keeps you centered and if theres not a friendly logo where youre looking its an enemy. thats what i did when i was new to it
I will always call this game Post Scriptum
The gods have blessed us with a new video
Squad, post scriptum/squad 44 and hell let loose all have their roots in battlefield 2, so thats probably why some of them have battlefield feels
You are my sunshine Habie, my only sunshine. ❤
i enjoyed watching that entire video
you gotta tryhard a few days before enjoying it, just the time to learn googles, stamina and positioning on the map. After it can be crazy :)
I love this game, man. If you actually come up with some sort of plan, ANY sort of *plan* with your team it's so much better.
Haha love your humour bro. Keep em coming.
Always gotta watch the new Habie147 video
Thanks for playing from the 83th!
The flying body at 7:17 had me cackling
Great video and editing! And yes, I also think Squad 44 is kind of underrated. It's an amazing game with so many cool features, and they kept lots of the Post Scriptum elements now. Let's play some, guys.
