Alice has had some incredible musicians who have played with him, he has also had incredible music that he has done throughout the years. A true Alice fan knows that. PERIOD!
Alice has written an unbelievable amount of most beautiful songs , this is why he had gorgeous musicians - Alice's " along came a spider " with Slash - to me - is one of the best rock songs ever
killer was one of the first three albums I ever owned in 6th grade and I won't compare apples to oranges but the drum solo is note worthy . I stumbled on this recording by dumb luck and had no intentions of listening to music today however it is what it is and the drum performance is one of the tightest I have ever heard . Sure everybody is no Mitch Mitchel who is the king , but I would give this drummer a stand up for his work . It was not a performance it was playing clean music . Good job , My respects .
Alice will NEVER top the original Alice Cooper band and he will NEVER top the songs that the original Alice Cooper band wrote. Glen Buxton, Michael Bruce, Dennis Dunaway AND Neal Smith.
The musicianship of the current lineup is much, much better. The original band was good. These guys are great. The original band was a bunch of high school guys that didn't even know how to play when the band formed. What are the odds that they would all turn out to be exceptional musicians? The current band are all hand-picked from the crim-de-la-crim of session musicians out there. This isn't anything against the original group. They pioneered the way. But to think that they can't be bested is ludicrous.
The original band will always be the best because the one you're playing is simply a cover. The footsteps created by Michael, Dennis, Glen and the fantastic beat of Neal are the source of everything, from the success of the Alice Cooper Band. I totally agree with you.
Thanks for sharing! Great audio and good video to boot (would like to know your equipment). I won't delve into the "which era band is better", both are awesome. What I find inspiring is how tight the band is, throughout the ending, driven by the drums. Can't wait for the next tour...
workingman1963 thanks for posting! My “rig” is really a simple Cannon Power Shot. I’d like to think the “magic” comes from my desire to capture something special. I’m willing to sit nearly motionless for 2 hours, while being discreet enough to not annoy anyone near me, or get in trouble with security. I use Adobe Premiere to edit. I also spend some time trying to make sure volumes are smooth. Thanks for watching!
?? No auxiliary microphone, just the built-in one? Impressive sound!. I can see how a dedicated camera would do better with zoom/focus than my efforts with camera phones, despite their high end level/brands (tried several, mediocre results at best, all from front row seats). Security does get a bit uppity when they see anything more than a pocket camera or cell phone, as I've experienced. So, thanks again for a job well done, perhaps I'll capture a performance that returns the favor.
Alice has a great band ivve seen Alice 29 times since before love it to death love ya alice keep on keeping on tell n s your girl. Love her to death steven abney cincinnati ohio
So glad to hear Nita played the TRADEMARK riff in this song (KILLER SOUND) but the drum solo (without the theatrics) was slow and contrived. I LOVE ALICE - Especially this period (the early 70's), but the bootleg I have of the Hollywood Bowl Concert puts this"solo"to shame!
Halo of Flies is a decently long song with a lot of instrumental interludes. There were obviously no vocals needed here, so being the class act he is, Alice let his band have the stage.
Is there anything more boring than an extended drum solo? Yes, a few things, like watching golf, or watching paint dry, but in general, pretty boring. Keep your drum solos to around 1 min max please.

Sure, but Alice's writing and songs and albums are still pretty solid mid career to now. Current lineup is insanely talented.
Only one Alice Cooper line up and that's the original line up, give me Neal Smith on drums anyday!! 👊
There is no forgetting you, Coop!
Incredible

Carlo CC well I don’t think he lucked out getting the gig not being able to play
More cow bell!
Sad I never got to see Neil Smith live. Nice spins tho, bro.
Saw Neal Smith 4 x's with the original band..fantastic ;

David Leoni that was Neal Smith a far superior drummer
Go there and do better,man.

Great! But as good as 72. Don't matter to me I am 5th row center next month in Everet!
So where's Alice?

Michael D. Bauer: OK. Thanks for clearing this up bro!
Backstage getting lit.
Glen at his peak would school these amateurs

All the techique in the world but not one bit of soul.

Neal Smith is better.
This drummer couldnt carry Neal Smiths sticks ...
Stop hating, do you know how to play the drums or any musical instrument or are you just talking shit. The guy can play. Quit hating.
and Neal is a far superior drummer than this guy
