to me, Alan Wilder makes Depeche Mode or Martin Gores' songs so much more appealing to me. The sounds Alan Wilder uses to turn Martin Gores' songs is so alive to me more than just a polished finished version. I enjoy the sounds Alan Wilder provides to Martin Gores' songs.
@@TimeTraveler.981 It´s no good made it to number 5 in the UK. Barrel of a gun to number 4. Their highest ever chart position for a single. Precious also made it to number 4. So not actually true what you say ;) But the albums Alan were on were just so much better, intense and interesting. They never gave him the recognition he deserved.
@@TimeTraveler.981 Depeche Mode was never really popular in the UK. They thought they were teeny wimps on synths ie not real music. But Europe always loved them. Yea they inspired so many bands. The whole techno scene in Detroit was massively inspired by Depeche Mode. They are one of my absolutely favorite bands. I´ve been following them since 1983 when I heard Construction Time Again :)
@@EsromFF so, the 7th episode made much more money than the previous ones in common. But is it really better? No. The success of Ultra based on nostalgia and hope for resurrection of the band.
We're lying by the orange sky Two million miles across the land Scattered to the highest high Expect they'll either laugh or cry No sex, no consequence, no sympathy You're good enough to heat Two minute warning Two minutes later When time has come My days are numbered The dawning of another year Marks time for those who understand One in four still here While you and I go hand in hand No radio, no sound, no sin, no sanctuary So welcome to your last The sun, the solitude, the cemetary So welcome to your last
the keyboard riffs on Construction Time Again are the best they ever made - in that respect it was all downhill for Depeche from there (I think the keyboard lines are largely Martin Gore though, even though Alan was the only one who could play them live). I guess "fly on the windscreen" was another gem in that department, but nothing is as good as "Everything Counts"
@@dukeofpearl nah ... it was getting more and more boring and martin was shifting toward his private introverted perversions more and more... matter of taste/preference though :D Truth be told I love the later albums as well, but I think in terms of keyboard riffs etc, CDA seems the pinnacle. :D
When a song stands without vocals, you know that that song is a masterpiece

EMU still rule the world, i wish you were at the jointof szikra movie theatre in Budapest where Alan performed the Recoil Tour, just google it!!!!
