This video is very good, but Microsoft could make it better, because requiring customers to enter Sharepoint to be able to see an image in Power BI is not usual, especially when you have a very large network of users of a dashboard. From Brazil
helllloooo can you help me? Look, I have the following problem: I have a group of colleagues along with their performance level in achieving their sales goals and their photos in a OneDrive folder. I needed to create a way to display this, and I thought about using the new data segmentation card, but I couldn’t load the photos. I extracted the URLs for the photos separately, but it still didn’t work. What other way can I do this? I need help-how can I make it work?
really want to say a big thank you, i was unable to find solutions elsewhere and was so worried about the task at work, great content and I'll keep watching!
Hi! Great trick but I'm having an issue when exporting the report to PDF from PBI service. Images don't appear!!!! You can see them on the report but they disappear when exported to pdf!!!
After the report is published up to the service, the connection to the Sharepoint site is using your (the developer) credentials forever? That doesn't sound right. Does it use the credentials of the person who is running the report? In that case then the report users would all need to be given permissions to the Sharepoint site. That doesn't sound right either. How do you manage connections that require user authentication?
good video!! But i dont know why, today all images isn't showing anymore. Im logged to sharepoint and the issue persists.... i clear the cache, coockies, everything and the problem still. Sorry if my english is bad.
Hi Patrick, I have table in PBI with base64 image string (converted from image using PQ Binary.ToText function). The image works fine on table visual, however, is there a way to show images on a scatter chart (instead of text, I want to show image as category label)?
Hello, the image could be view in PowerBI. But when you download to PDF it is the broken image that shows as it is in the desktop version. How can that be rectify.
How do I import the image but a smaller optimized version? I don't want the image, which is 300dip, 3000px wide into my PowerBI report, I just need a thumbnail.
Do you know the solution to export to PDF in Power BI online and not break the images? the report appears with the image in Power BI Online, but it does not appear during export.
This is such a helpful video thank you. One question - how do I get this to work in the Power BI app? It only seems to work when I'm looking at it online.
I am trying to get these images in Paginated report but its just showing Red x symbol and not showing up but at the sametime it shows in power bi as you have shown in this video... Tried all sort of access, converting to base64 concept etc.. not happening...Pls Help!
Hi guys! Is it possible to refresh each table separately in a different refresh schedule frequency like monthly/weekly/adhoc from a single dataset in power bi?
I think you have 2 options: 1. Segregate your data into dataflows which you can refresh individually. 2. Use the XMLA endpoint: connect via SSMS to the workspace and then you can process individual tables as in any AAS instance.
Super! I did the same with our server and, when I'm in VPN it work but when you download a presentation the images are broken :( . Did everyone solved it?
Q: On the last thing which you mentioned, I wanted to ask if I don't want my user to refresh SharePoint online and still want them to see the images without authentication, how can I achieve it, given my organisation policy does not allow the SharePoint to be accesible anonymously? Thank you for the informative video!
this is great! I have my company storing profile pictures of everyone on a sharepoint visible to everyone on the company already automatically, so these work in my power bi. tHE PROBLEM is cache. It gets cached for ever...
Late coming to this, but I was wondering, if you can make this work using the desktop version of PBI? Fore example when you get to the 3 minute mark in the video the images in the desktop version are broken. Can this be fixed so they both work in the service and in the desktop?
This is great. How do I get my images into the SharePoint library from Smartsheet rows? And can I use Power Automate to pull those images based on parameter?
I was trying to change my image according to my selection, but it is not responsive. Thanks for the video btw ! I actually imported the table made a relationship with my fact table and in the end if I add the image in the report, it always show the same, doesn't really change even with Simple Image... :( maybe a me thing!
problem is that some images dont show or flicker. it is not that easy for all pictures - at least with me some appear well, others flicker and others dont even appear.
Quando você foi para a opção de colunas, apareceram 'Person ID e Person name?'. Ainda não deu certo por aqui e essa foi a única parte que não apareceu igual para mim.
QUESTION: Is there a way to embed workspace apps into an ? I know we can embed individual reports, but I like the functionality of the Workspace apps (access control, being able to have multiple reports in 1 app etc.) - so it would be really cool if there's a way to embed the entire app into an . Is this possible?
Thank you so much for your help. Question regarding Image size. Can we you resize the image at all? I'd like to make it bigger somehow. I thought if i just change the value text size but that changes only text, apparently. Thanks again
the problem is, in first when i open BI dashboard the picture doesnt show, even i already authenticated, so i need open sharepoint list and return to power bi for picture show up.
make me look for another solution , maybe create a public location that doesnt require autentication for catch theses images, since is photos of employes and dont have problem make them public.
FYI the old way of doing this works for export to pdf/etc and also works for paginated reports. That way is to convert the image to Base64 binary and then PBI will render it. Limits are on file size to about 30kb else it truncates image. I came here hoping MS had resolved this with a more straightforward solution.
Patrick in Power Bi can we have any option to keep header as constant and we can scroll down the page, so that we can keep filter button and kpi in top and we can scroll and see visuals as well. Please help me
I used this trick in my Power BI report, and it works like magic. However, using the same data model, I can't make my paginated report display the identical image :(

You can upload the images to a cloud platform, for example blob storage if you have access to Azure. Patrick also did a video on that here: th-cam.com/video/hGKykytzLXs/w-d-xo.html
"If they still don't load, go to SharePoint online explicit and then reload the report". This is not insane amazing. It's clunky as hell and unreliable. It's challenging enough to get users to consume reports and making users jump through hoops just to make a report work doesn't help.

2 years later, Power BI still does not allow to view images stored in a SharePoint, while working on the .pbix file... I really don't understand why 🤔

Hello, did you solve the problem with exporting to pdf? Have the same issue :/
But how did you upload the images with all those properties?.......
Thanks for the tip. What about image URL in the Power BI Teams app?
Valeu!
Appreciate the support! Thank you! 👊

The latter. The person who opens the published PBI report needs to have access to the Sharepoint List, otherwise the images will not display.
Thanks, very much! You can explain why the imagens don't show in pwbi desktop?
Because I have this same problem in power bi for Android App.
The same Q about it. Also, for Image Grid visual
Your channel helped me a lot with my work here in Brazil, I became your follower thank you very much, and much, much success.
Is there anyway to print the report with the images as well?

This doesn’t seem to work when the report is published for mobile reports, do you know if there is any workarounds to this? 😎

Thanks for the upload. I was looking for this for a really long time!
How to display Images in Exported to EXCEL file from Power (where URL type marked as Image URL). When export it always have "URL"
This is such a helpful video thank you. One question - how do I get this to work in the Power BI app? It only seems to work when I'm looking at it online.
for us as well - did you find any solution??
Can this URL work in pop up of these data on map dashboard?
I cant seem to show the sharepoint images using mobile power bi. any fix on this? I'm using image grid visual to show them.

is the image visible if the link is opened on a mobile phone?
What if the links are in a column in Power Query? I can't get my links to google maps to show up.

Does this work in Paginated reports too?
hi in my share point "TheImages" Tab is not avilable, can any one guide me how to display this tab in sharepoint left sied ?
but why doesn't it work in local?
Thank you so much for your help. Question regarding Image size. Can we you resize the image at all? I'd like to make it bigger somehow. I thought if i just change the value text size but that changes only text, apparently. Thanks again
Yes, look for Image Height setting in Format pane
You have the setting for Image Size in Table settings, you can make it bigger, but only up to certain level.
For a larger image by self, I use the Simple Image custom visual
Thanks all very helpful.
@@Milhouse77BS Simple Image Custom Visual is displaying only one image at a time, how to display all the images in a table in bigger size.

Look for the video from this channel that can have a collapsible filter pane.

Can anyone confirm that this is still working? Am am trying to display images from a sharepoint list, but I only get missing image icon
still working , but you need to connect to SharePoint in another tab then refresh you report page
This was amazing and helped so much!
Thank you very much. Great tutorial..👍👍
Amazing tip. Still to use images from sharepoint 😊
This. Was. Awesome!
Thanks!
Amazing, just what I needed 🙂 Thanks
If someone found a way to make this work without asking the client to open SharePoint that would be great

Nice one Thanks. Would be good if they did render directly in Desktop though. 🤯🤯
