Same. It was very faint at first, and I was about to comment "the words are so quiet - I can hear them but the music overpowers them." Then I realized what my brain was doing.

Unfortunately, the remake version is literally only less than one minute long and hardly any of it is actually sung. It's too bad, because Chiwitel Ejiofor actually sounded great in it, but they cut the song down to almost nothing.

I'm hesitating to even go spend my money on the remake cuz I really don't wanna be supporting crappy remakes. Plus they did my boy scar dirty lmao.

Amy Damjanovic they did that because the old imagery was purely politically driven and the words made no sense in this version because the hyenas weren’t as dumb as the animated version (which I personally believed was an upgrade).
Much better than the live action version. I'm glad someone did the song justice.

Tracer I agree. I just took a sneak peek at the soundtrack and I am very disappointed in the 2019 version. It took me until it was a minute in to realize the song was playing.

I wanted to incorporate lyrics from the 2019 version, the 1994 version, Scar’s pre-song monologue in the official 1994 soundtrack (albeit from the hyenas’ point-of-view this time), and even the lyrics from the brief reprise in a deleted scene...
I also figured, since this remake was trying to make Shenzi a genuinely menacing villain, as opposed to a comical hench-hyena, might as well give her a verse, you know?

Seriously though. Imagine being kicked out Bc your brother ratted you out for hanging out with homeless kids then became a king for it whilst you were banished from all wealth.
They should have done something like this for the gorge stampede scene. It would fit so well because this is Scars theme song. The gorge scene is where he was at his peak as the main antagonist. Playing his theme song during that would fit so well.

I had played Scar in a school production once, and since Be Prepared was, and always will be, my favorite villain song, I can hear and sing along with this version.
TLK soundtrack has always been among my favourites, I always enjoy it. Your version has just blown my mind. It gave me chills. Great.

Anyone else here reimagining the battle between Scar and Simba? I don't know how L'Orchestra made Hans Zimmer's score more powerful, but I loved what I heard.

I love this channel! Great work! I just found out a few minutes ago that this song ISN’T even in the Lion King remake and I’m pretty sure I want to cry about it... Agreed! It was really odd to have talking, singing animals without any expressions. Scar was delightfully over the top villainous in the original, whereas in the 2019 version he's just plain disturbing. Plus Disney weakened one of the best songs in the film. This movie didn't need to be remade any more than Dumbo needed to be.
Everyone: You can't fix The Lion King (2019)'s soundtrack and make it epic.

L'ORCHESTRA CINEMATIQUE: I am BEYOND impressed with EVERY piece of music you guys have covered so far!! Wow!! It's very rare that I desire to listen to an entire album or a list all the way through without skipping a track. I have been delightfully surprised with your creative approach to your soundtrack covers and Christmas music! I am usually very hesitant to listen to covers like these because there are many times where they are sadly butchered. Not with this orchestra! Hans Zimmer is one of my very favourite composers, and at first I was a bit nervous to hear his work being covered...Being impressed with what I've been hearing so far with all other pieces, I gave it a try! In my opinion, it was well done! You guys definitely made it your own, but you respectfully kept the integrity of the original piece-- Well Done! As far as the Christmas music goes and other tracks, I feel the same..Way to go! I look forward to hearing more of what your orchestra is going to produce!! I'm already a fan! Thank you for your work!! Now back to epically enjoying your music! Cheers!!
