Thanks so much for coming! We had a glitch with the raspberry pi and the screens didn’t come down for one of the shows. Hopefully not your show. Merry Christmas!
Ummmm. You didn’t talk about projection mapping? I was thinking you meant you would show how you mapped out the zones. Loved what you did with easy to find, non-specialized products!
After making a 9ft projector screen myself I found blackout curtains worked the best and was almost perfect. Also maybe a windscreen wiper would suit your needs more, dc, high torque, silent low energy consumption, a cheap voltage regulator and a timer circuit. Prob cost $50.
Great work! If you still wanted to use that AC winch, two DPST (double pole single throw) relays in place of the up/down remote would allow independent up/down (and stationary) functioning. I'd be happy to draw the schematic.

You actually could have gotten the AC winch to work with the Zen16 ... initially I thought that it was impossible, but then I noticed that they've got the two lower pins on their DPDT switch tied together, meaning that they're effectively using that portion of the switch as a single throw. This is lucky for you since the Zen16 has 3 relays -- you can use one relay to replace the lower pole on that switch, and the remaining two to replace the two throws on the upper pole. You'd have to use software to make sure that they operated in the correct sequence (as was done mechanically by the original switch).
Easier way with your screens... Electric screens then put an esp32/tasmota with relay in the remote controls. That will work with your existing smart home pi
Nice tutorial, and nice projection. Can you give more details ow send a tutorial link about what winch did you used and any tutorial about the smart relay and the limit switch. Thanks in advance.

@@BreakItYourself I've done that, but my problem is that the plugin doesn't have either of those printers (mine is the 1080) built-in and I'm not sure of which script/settings to use to get it to work. I've tried a few different ones and I tried asking on the forum but no luck yet. I actually started this project and bought the 1080 before I even found your 2019 video. Nice job! My house is mostly brick, so it's not too bright, but it still is looking okay so far. Your videos are quite helpful. Thanks
I much prefer the show WITHOUT the screens. They kind of defeat the purpose of projection mapping ... you're supposed to use the structure to your advantage and as part of the show.
Yes, I completely agree. The main issue is that my projector isn’t all that bright and the light dies into my brick. The projections are very hard to see which is the only reason I went with the screens. Maybe one day the cost of really bright projectors will come down enough to add to the display
It's amazing how YOU have projected your perception of $133, 000.00 being a ridiculous amount of money!... That's how I feel about what you already spent on one projector and one roll up screen!... Ahhhhh, Good Ol' Einstein and that unstable-relativity thing strikes again!.... Cool project though man!..... I'd share my latest endeavor/project, .... BUT, We both know nobody cares about " Duct-Tape Engineering- The RE-RE-REintegration of Work boot Security And Climate".

Scam dislike thumbnail has a projector
4:26 I like the two dinosaurs fighting over a table saw.
Ikea Tuplur windows blinds. Great budget projection screens.

Awesome you did this again! Can't wait for part two! Wish you and your wife a merry Christmas!
Part 2 is already up!! Merry Christmas! 🎁🎄
This whole passion project / creative process makes me SO happy! I’m so proud of you! 🥺
I been trying get this for 3 yrs now. It was a man on TH-cam that built the box and sold the whole kit with everything.
CHEERS!
Wow!!!
Awesome video! Looking forward to trying out my first home projection project for Christmas.
For the AC wench the easiest would’ve been to add a relay and control the relay to turn on and off the wrench.
The issue wasn't turning it on and off. The issue is getting it to reverse. Reversing a DC motor is much easier
WOW! Very impressive!

Oh My Goodness!.. It sounds complicated.. l think I'm just going to stick with Christmas lights. Lol
What a great job! This video deserves so many more views! Congrats on your daughter too!

Thank you for the video, super helpful. Question do you happen to have pictures or a video of the construction of the projector enclosure? Thank you.
What a noggin' on this dude!
That is so cool! I would love to do this.
If you don’t mind sharing who you hired for the show mapping please? Thanks so much!
Excellent show and tutorial, thank you! I am curious what the dimensions are on your projected area, and the distance of the projector to the house.

Shwweeet. What projector did you use?
Do you have a link for the nativity scene display by any chance? Thank you, awesome job 👏
I would love to see a more in-depth video. We are looking to do projections combined with lights this holiday season.
Nice tutorial, and nice projection. Can you give more details ow send a tutorial link about what winch did you used and any tutorial about the smart relay and the limit switch. Thanks in advance.
HOW DO YOU KEEP people from messing with or even stealing your equipment?
Would like to try a simple version before I dive into this. I like it.
Do it! And upload a video when you’re finished so we can see
I can help you with the ac wrench. You can solder relay outputs to the buttons. I can help if your interested

Hi there. Can I ask, your projector box, are the fans pulling air into or out of the box? Thanks
Maybe you can make a follow up where you actually show your process for the mapping.
It’s called a Damper (the thing you referred to as an “air spring “)
a used garage door opener would have done the job I believe
"what was that?!" - hahahaha
Sounds like he need some PLC boot camp ⛺️
hate to break it to you but harbor freight sells a wireless controller lol
Haha I have it! But incorporating it into falcon pi player was above my pay grade

How did you create this video? Do you have this video to download?
Nice video! I tried to look at your tutorial videos also but it says they don't exist?

Can’t projection map my house, I’m too busy projecting my feelings on others
It's okay blair henderson
What projector do you use?
wow so cool! I wish my marriage had been so nice, he wouldn't even walk to the curb with the trash.
Классно ...
To be honest though I think Disneyland did it better with there it's a small world holiday projection show
Also they repented their Castle because it's the 50th and because of that as well
Quick question--how did you get the Optoma GT1080HDR (or 1090) to work with the projector controls on FPP?
download the plug in "projector control" and get a USB to RS232 cable. Then you can use the script to turn on, select input, etc of the projector.
@@BreakItYourself I've done that, but my problem is that the plugin doesn't have either of those printers (mine is the 1080) built-in and I'm not sure of which script/settings to use to get it to work. I've tried a few different ones and I tried asking on the forum but no luck yet.

Here are my parameters:
Enable ✅
Connection type: serial
Serial device: ttyUSB0
Projector: Optima_150s
Everything else blank
@@BreakItYourself Thank you! That worked--for some reason I thought I tried all the Optoma settings, but I must have missed that one.
Glad it worked!!
Where's the mapping though
It’s a gas strut
Bingo! 10 points for you
What screens aren't expensive. Costs less than $15 per meter and comes on a roll.

$1,500 projector just so I don’t have to put up lights is a little expensive
