HI Marley and Martin! I've been watching you for a couple of weeks now. I'm from Phoenix Arizona. I'm a student and a Newby in this craft. I love your work and your teaching. I laugh, smile and learn everything. Your so inspiring and I truly am learning so much from you. Thank you for both your time and enjoyable show. Hugs Tammy.
Another absolute beauty. I can tell I’m going to have to pace myself watching your videos otherwise I’m going to spend months doing nothing but watching your channel. I am absolutely fascinated by your process. Every time I think, “oh that’s perfect, don’t do anymore”. Then you add more and it turns out that much better!
I wonder..is there anything you can't do??! I can't say enough about your artistic abilities, you're my favorite of all, every time I learn something new or tricks "how to" ,you are truly inspiration. You and Martyn together is absolute dream come true ❤❤❤
Another fabulous transformation! Love the copper/rose gold with the blue. The stenciled antique mirror is brilliant! Great idea to update out dated glass topped furniture. Had a TKR about 1 1/2 yrs ago. The process was not a walk in the park but worth it to be finally pain free. Love my rolling mechanic's stool. It's full of paint like all my clothes. "Don't do this at home"-what do you think we do?! Martin did so much to this piece that he is off the hook for his furniture re-do. Lel, you look so lovely and glowing back in your stable!
Oh WOW ! WOW ! WOWZA! Lel ! You just Blow me away girl with your talent and that special finesse. Just ❤❤ you both . I just adore that colour the stencils are brilliant! Brilliant job Martyn 👏😊and just adore those feet . I could keep going and going , but don’t want to bore you guys with my admiration for your work. Take care guys ❤ya to bits x
I really think the feet made it Ondina and I'm glad you like them. It just lifted it up and made it a piece of furniture in its own right. Thanks so much for watching and leaving us a kind comment Lel X ❤️
I put your videos on all of the time. I watch them to learn, I have them just running in the background while I work on my own furniture even if it’s something totally different than what you’re doing. I just enjoy you two!
Another Magnificent Creation from you two! So many wonderful techniques incorporated and demonstrated. You definitely have a playful giddiness in your stable-studio. Always love the music choices. Celebrating you both and your channel’s growth. 🎩👒🎩👒🎩👒🎩👒
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this piece. And your bantering sometimes has me in stitches! All very good both for my dopamine levels and my creativity. Thank you both so very much. (Can I just add that I'm binge-watching, to absorb your fabulous creative ideas too...)
Hello, I love your videos and banter with Martin. Work is fun and you prove that over and over! I love this piece, I say that every time I watch you🤣 I was wondering where a person would get a piece like the 40's woman you put on your piece. Thank you so much!
Hey there Carla thanks so much for your kind comment, type into Google free source images of 40's/50's fashion. As long as it free to use just print it out on a home printer if it's not a laser printer and it's an ink jet then spray the image with hairspray to stop the ink bleeding. If you struggle DM made by Marley on Facebook and I will see if I can find the one I used and message you the image. Love Lel x
I absolutely love your work!!! I just found you a couple of weeks ago, and have been binge watching!! Then I’m watching this video today, heard you saying you were getting a chair with rollers and you have a bad knee. I have the small chair with rollers also, for my furniture painting, it’s actually a manicurist chair, works like a charm, except when I try and stand up! Both of my knees are so bad I’m walking with a cane. I need double knee replacement desperately, but I have had some other health issues that are pretty serious, so we are having to get those taken care of before I can get my knees fixed!! You are a trooper!! Sitting on the floor, sitting on your legs with your knees bent!! I haven’t been able to do that for years!! So, PLEASE don’t wait or put others before yourself, like I did!! Get them fixed now, before you are needing a cane and walker. Trust me on this!! I wish I could turn back the hands of time, and put myself as a priority!! But I can’t!! I’m not able to produce nearly as much furniture as I used too, it has really taken me down!! Anyway, a cautionary tale and a compliment!! And a HELLO to a new friend!! ❤sending Love and well wishes all the way from Oklahoma City Oklahoma!!😊
I love you! I swear, your jacket looks exactly like mine. I was awaiting spring, anything but patiently, and moved my stuff out to the shed last Monday. It’s so cold, and it’s damp too. Nothing is drying all the way. This piece is one of my favorite pieces ever, I want it! If I ever get to Scotland, I am going to find you!! I love you both, and will never miss a video. You make my week. Thank you.
Peg I see many similarities ha ha Yes moving back to the stable was a shock the temperature was still cold and like you it took ages to dry I had forgotten ha ha ha Well if you ever get to Scotland come on over you will be used to shed temperature ha ha ha 🤣
"ahhh, she's gone rogue..." Great job, Martin. I had a Cricut and used it twice...I'm not great at it! What a great lesson! How to age the glass. How to gold leaf. The stool cool! Hey, If your knee gets worse, Martin can rig you up a rope system you can hang from to paint! Weeding, oh. "The eye twitch" har-har. I love Wander, too! Yeah, feet are strange animals...I put 4 feet on a cedar chest and when I flipped it and looked inside, they'd all 4 gone through the cedar bottom. arrrggghhh. Who's Daisy, Martin? Does Lel know about her? This was thee best video! Carmen M. yeah. Need a banana transfer. Thank you both!
Deb your comments are legendary in our house. Just our kind of what we find funny.... Firstly the vinyl cutter Marty mastered it in about a day me it's my nemesis it never goes right ha ha ha The hanging me up I'm unsure the stable roof could take the strain Deb although give him time I like he would like to just hang me somewhere some days. And stand down on daisy she's one of our twins she's 16 and Marty's mini me they are very similar. Oh no for your feet on your cedar chest, I always flippantly say Marty just pop feet on that for me, however Marty always tells me all the things needing done to make this happen. In my mind it's a simple task. Thanks so much Deb I love what you have to say and I'm glad you have stuck with us for a long time now. As for my rolly seat I made Marty's fingers twitch yesterday I asked him to make a fitted box at the base to store items . I'm waiting on a reply ha ha ha
Oh my goodness! This is one of my all time favorites! How do you come up with these ideas? I love it, glad I live across the pond or my house would be filled with Marley creations! You are amazing, Martyn too. I am giddy every week waiting for a new video. Thank you!
I look at the piece then just decide what I think might suit the furniture. I always see Indo all over the place and store it on my phone ....I even photograph people's front doors as it's a nice colour ( did that yesterday)
So good to be 'home!' Yes, I have a rolling seat too! I can put a few things under it on a shelf and I love it. You know, when you're looking for a paint stirrer - they're in a box in the back (along with a paint can opener)! So handy! And Martyn, it's okay to be missing a few screws - the best of us are 🤣🤣🤣I love the rose gold, when it comes to gilding wax I'm drawn more to the coppers than the gold - it's so very pretty and different. It goes so well with the beautiful, rich teal! Tallulah looks great, 🥰🥰
Cat what did I do before my rolling seat it's fabulous and I will get Marty to put a box in mine. I think I'm more drawn to the coppers also especially on greens ...thanks for taking the time to comment and I'm glad you enjoyed Tallulah ha ha 😂
I haven't been able to comment for days! Finally fixed it. So, I love what you did with this piece, you really made it look like something from the 40's or 30's or maybe even 20's because of the advertising lettering. I have no idea what silhouette is, but I can probably find it on Google. Laughed out loud when you used your jacket sleeve to wipe off the messed up stamp. I have a grungy rescued medicine cabinet from a trash pile. This would be a great idea for it. Thanks Lel and Martyn. You should clone Martyn then rent him out.😆
A few skills shown in this one, looks great , I like how artistic the IOD transfers look. Is it just the Brits that know the "if you've got a dog etc etc" saying. You two do have great team work. Love the feet and the glass. My ex used to say that one a lot, he's Scottish as well.
Talula looks great!! I like using the spray mirror look finish. It gives you a vintage look, like you said. As always, it's fun watching what you come up with.
I enjoy y'all's movie videos. Goodness you cover so many techniques. I'm glad you got a roller stool. I hope your shots go well. This is an incredible piece.
Oh Lel, where have you been all my life! You are so talented and your teaching is wonderful. I am super happy with movie length tutorials, there is always somat to learn. Your friend in South Africa, Larga. (Sorry about the "mis naming" on my last comment but that was before I binge watched all I could in one night...)😂. Send regards to Martyn. 😊 Wonder if we get all that fancy stuff like mirror spray and cameos here. Mmm I'll be doing some internet 🏄
Luv, luv, luv! Your instruction is like drinking fine wine through my ear holes giving me inspiration. My 2 bum hips started to get in the way of life, yes you will go crazy will waiting for your knee to heal, but it will give you time to do those things that require sitting and creating. Glad I had my hips replaced, it will be well worth it lel.
Ahhh dar I am so encouraged by your words but also I watched your table and chair video for the bright and bold challenge and I loved it all those layers and the stencil just loved it I am just thinking I think I left a comment I'm so sorry if I forgot I thought yours was excellent and Marty was rooting for ya x X ❤️
Mate...it took me 6 times to get through this with all the days interruptions. Love seeing you back in the stable hope all goes well. I wish I had a vacuuming Marty and love Tallulah. Beautiful as usual 🧡🧡🧡
I'm in same predicament. Outside in shed with no heat or air. No water or toilet. No electricity..I use extension cords. In house in winter but in tiny area. Hopeful to remedy sum day. Luv ur work! Do what we gotta do!
Welcome Anna your in good company and it's really appreciated that your here with us ...yes it's chaotic but isn't art like that fun free and totally worth it X X Thanks so much Lel X ❤️
I love your movies! This was the Lord of The Rings of furniture painting videos. I wept like I did at Boromir's death all over again!. EPIC SAGA. But in all seriousness, this is one I'll probably watch over again and again. As I do. It's slow in Canada. Moose. Beavers. Paint drying. All the love. Tallulah and her life support system are GORGEOUS.
Hi Leo and Martin, Maryka’s husband here. I love what you did with this piece. It is such a joy, a real treat, to be invited into your creative space, listening to two friends laughing and teasing each other while producing vintage art. Thanks again.
What a unique piece this turned out to be! I have got to try the vintage mirror effect and I love it as a backdrop to the silhouette’s typography🥰 This is perfect timing of inspiration for a piece I have in waiting! Sunday evenings with you and Martyn are like a matinee without the price of admission❤️❤️❤️ And I didn’t even have to stock up on junk food from the Dollar Store cause there is no overpriced concession stand😄.
Whaha ...do you do that when you go to the cinema to? We used to take a rucksack in when the kids were young ha ha ha I had so many it was bank breaking when the bought sweeties from the place. Glad it have you some inspo Cassie and we love your comments and humour X X X ❤️
Team work makes the dream work❤❤ Question do you keep many of your pieces if so love see how you incorporate them into your house. I like you hate boring and believe art is not just for the walls . But I think many struggle with how to bring a piece like this into their homes. I think it would make an interesting video . Just a thought 😂. May help those that love your papers make over what they already have but are hesitant 😊 💵 💵 ❤
Maz that's an excellent suggestion. I do keep some I would like to keep more but I don't have space. I really would need to at least vacuum and dust before I could even think of doing that ha ha ha 🤣
I didn't need to seal the letters as I sealed them with wax while still in the stencil stage and I just ran some wax over the flowers 🌺🌺🌺 Hope this helps X X ❤️
Hi Lel. Just a thought. Hand held vacuum with brush attachment for metal leaf only. Maybe 1 dedicated to gold leaf 1 for rose gold. Hoover it straight off of piece. Every time I use it it sticks to everything and out of desired area. Maybe I might go back to it. Just get a few vacuums. Lovely work as always.
You are so inspiring. I just purchased some decoupage paper to paint a piece of furniture. Please consider creating your own furniture transfers. There is a huge market right here in the UK.
Hello I've packaged it up last night get it into the post for you tomorrow 😀 sorry the bank holiday ment we couldn't get it out to you today, but I loved your choices X X ❤️
Hi there, great video, can you buy the lettering or create yourself?, im thinking of doing old school lettering on furniture to make look like school spirts equipment etc, can i buy the lettering anywhere? Thanks
I’ve just found you, what a find. Could watch all day!😊 please May I ask what paints you use? I do quite a lot of furniture, but struggle to get the colours I need, especially chalk paint! Thank you, Melanie x
@@MadebyMarley thank you so much for replying. A lot of people don’t bother you know. It is the best, but not readily available down here in Dorset. I order on line and that’s how I get it wrong sometimes, expensive mistakes! Best Wishes 🙏🏼
I use a company called @dovetailvintage they are fabulous they will send you a paint charchbif you email them and they do next day delivery I'm very happy with them X ❤️
Hi Deborah, It's Martyn, I'm not sure what you mean? If we are talking about the vinyl we used to create the lettering then there is no residue. It comes off super clean with crisp edges which is why we used it for this project because there was so much of it. As Lel explained in the video we used our silhouette to cut out the letters and we then weeded the centres of the letters from the vinyl while it was still on the backing paper. Then we placed the transfer paper over this. You then remove the backing paper which leaves the vinyl on the transfer paper which you then apply to the piece. You then remove the backing paper leaving the vinyl on the piece. You just need to make sure its stuck down smooth and then stencil away with what ever you want, as thick as you want. Let it dry then peel off the vinyl and weed it again where needed. Hey presto, perfect lettering with no residues. if you are asking about waxing the letters, this was done while the vinyl was still on so it was contained within the cut our letters and the residue was on the vinyl which we removed. Hope this helps. Martyn
@@MadebyMarley thanks Martin. Yeah. Got confused. Call it a senior moment. Thanks for the detailed answer. Did you guys ever think of selling the ready made words along with your papers. I don't know anyone who has a cricut or silhouette. Handy piece of kit. They really worked well on the cabinet. Fabulous.
You and sweet Martyn make me feel like I'm visiting with friends and a cup of coffee. Thank you for a birds eye view of your creative processes. Adore and appreciate you both!

Thanks Tallulah says hi X ❤️
Oh Lel, where have you been all my life! You are so talented and your teaching is wonderful. I am super happy with movie length tutorials, there is always somat to learn. Your friend in South Africa, Larga. (Sorry about the "mis naming" on my last comment but that was before I binge watched all I could in one night...)😂. Send regards to Martyn. 😊
Wonder if we get all that fancy stuff like mirror spray and cameos here. Mmm I'll be doing some internet 🏄
Thanks so much I just love you to ...as you took the time to leave me such a kind comment thanks so much for watching X ❤️
Stunner!!
Wander is my favorite transfer. I've sold 3 different pieces of furniture featuring it....yet, I don't own any, myself! hahah
Ha yes any prices I have done have sold, it must be lucky X ❤️
I'm so happy I found you! I love your kind, creative spirit. And, I laugh a lot during your videos. The cabinet is beautiful!
Awww Kim its all about the fun and laughs I'm glad we found you to and decided to stay X ❤️
Tallulah says hello Linda X X thanks for sticking with it and watching in amongst your busy day X ❤️
I'm in same predicament. Outside in shed with no heat or air. No water or toilet. No electricity..I use extension cords. In house in winter but in tiny area. Hopeful to remedy sum day. Luv ur work! Do what we gotta do!
Teresa I am totally feeling you, your right you just get used to it. The irony is it's still cold in there in the summer X ❤️
New here and at 13:28 I just had to pause, subscribe and comment! FINALLY a maker who's as chaotic and happy-go-lucky as myself! 😄😄
Welcome Anna your in good company and it's really appreciated that your here with us ...yes it's chaotic but isn't art like that fun free and totally worth it X X
Thanks so much
Lel X ❤️
I love your movies! This was the Lord of The Rings of furniture painting videos. I wept like I did at Boromir's death all over again!. EPIC SAGA. But in all seriousness, this is one I'll probably watch over again and again. As I do. It's slow in Canada. Moose. Beavers. Paint drying. All the love. Tallulah and her life support system are GORGEOUS.
You have no idea how much Marty laughed at this comment ha ha thanks so much ❤️
And Tallulah sends her best X ❤️
Hi Leo and Martin, Maryka’s husband here. I love what you did with this piece. It is such a joy, a real treat, to be invited into your creative space, listening to two friends laughing and teasing each other while producing vintage art. Thanks again.
Hello hello it's even nicer that you took the time to tell us you enjoyed the video thanks so very much Avram ❤️
@@MadebyMarley yes we did! It was the normal routine😃 Have a wonderful week🤗
I'm becoming your biggest fan. I love your creativity, you're so unique!!
Marty Jane we also love you as without people watching it would be pants ha ha thanks love Marty and lel X ❤️
Excellent!
Hi Linda and thanks for watching X ❤️
It’s just beautiful. So many techniques 😉. Did you put a sealer over the transfers that are on the glass. Thank you.
I didn't need to seal the letters as I sealed them with wax while still in the stencil stage and I just ran some wax over the flowers 🌺🌺🌺
Hope this helps X X ❤️
I didn't know you created the words!!
Ha ha are they bad 😅
Love watching you two work together! Fabulous result and can’t wait for part 2 😀
Part two couldn't be any farther away or different fow this it's got all the print all the colour X X ❤️
Lovely!! I’ll buy my next hat at that shop! 😂
Awww thanks so much for watching X ❤️
Yes maybe a couple of small hand held Hoover's your fab for giving me such a great tip x
If it works. My light bulb moments are prone to going pop.
Absolutely gorgeous!! Have saved this to watch again for when I do my own smaller version of this cabinet. But, I want to do mine 1930s style. Thanks.
Ooohhh good luck sounds an awesome project X ❤️
@@MadebyMarley Thanks. I have no idea where to begin, so will start doing research soon!!
If wax is not a factor give it a quck blow dry before removing the vinyl. It comes off easier.
Yes I jyst couldn't because I had waxed it x
Love the idea of a fashion cabinet! Can we use old life magazines for decoupage? I need a Martin, I’m looking for his qualities in my next boyfriend!
Yes of course old magazines would work you can decoupage with anything really. As for Marty he's a cutie X ❤️
Hi ya Lel and Martin , hope all is well
Hi Pamela thanks were good hope your well
Love lel X ❤️
That is a magnificent job!!! You two should be called M@M's. Smooth like chocolate and delicious. 🥰🥰🥰🥰 The music is the perfect piece for this video.
All women need a martlyn
Suzy he is really good at all the jobs I don't want to do ...X ❤️
@@MadebyMarley, Yes we do💖💖 he's a good man❤
Hi there, great video, can you buy the lettering or create yourself?, im thinking of doing old school lettering on furniture to make look like school spirts equipment etc, can i buy the lettering anywhere? Thanks
I made a stencil on my silhouette machine...x
Hmmmm you could also use letter stamps in gold paint.... Thanks so much x
I’ve just found you, what a find. Could watch all day!😊 please May I ask what paints you use? I do quite a lot of furniture, but struggle to get the colours I need, especially chalk paint! Thank you, Melanie x
Welcome Melanie thanks so much for watching. I use Annie Sloan chalk paint hope this helps X ❤️
@@MadebyMarley thank you so much for replying. A lot of people don’t bother you know. It is the best, but not readily available down here in Dorset. I order on line and that’s how I get it wrong sometimes, expensive mistakes! Best Wishes 🙏🏼
I use a company called
@dovetailvintage they are fabulous they will send you a paint charchbif you email them and they do next day delivery I'm very happy with them X ❤️
Can I ask what the stamp was that you put on the glass?
I made the words up and cut it with my vinyl cutter X X ❤️
@@MadebyMarley I meant the viney type stamp you did in black paint on the inside of the windows before the spray.
How did you clean residue around the lettering without removing the letters?
Fabulous.
💙💛
Thanks so much ❤️
That's so yummy x
Thanks Gail X ❤️
Watching...you are giddy.
Oh I was giddy ha ha ha 😀
