- War Thunder Ground Battles have quite a few options when it comes to tanks. From fast light tanks, to reliable medium tanks and sturdy heavy tanks. But be aware there is more than meets the eye. SPAA and Tank Destroyers are also important to win against your enemies.

Yeah same, find a good spot to sit, and then just shoot people when they come around corners. Though, war thunder tends to be jank, my rounds are often deleted by turret rings, and then I get 1 shot by a guy firing at my tracks.

I agree with most points of the list but one thing with which I disagree is the hate on tank destroyers. You mentioned that light tanks recieve a spotting capability which is extremely useful and I could not agree more with it but that also applies to some tank destroyer and spaas also such as the wiesels the flarakrad. And the other thing is that TDs can not be classified into one group just like heavies as there are both lightly armoured highly armed ones like the sturer emil, or heavily armed and armoured like the jagdtiger or there are fast ones like the r3 t106, the list would have been better atleast in my opinion if you would have broken them into rough categories for example light TD, heavy TD, although the video was amazing, this would have made it even better. Keep up the good work!!!
1 thing abt spaa is that the result can vary,yeah they are really useful for taking down aircraft but their gameplay are mostly really boring and imagine spawning as an spaa and for an entire match u find no plane,u not only wasted ur time but also contribute nothing to the battle,that the thing with spaa
i would place medium tank over them tbh considering for medium u dont really have to depend on ur enemy spawning whatever u tryna target and u are pretty much the jack of all trade,easily contribute to ur team to win more
It also always depends on the vehicle. Some SPAA can go kill tanks themselves with no issues, while others can't :)
In my opinion the heavy tanks can't be properly rated because there are many types of heavys
This also applies to TDs aswell, and yes they might not be the best, there are some very interesting and strong ones, just like with heavies.
I’d rate it from worst to best to play personally: SPAAs, Heavy Tanks, Medium Tanks, Light Tanks, Tank Destroyers. I have a great love for tank destroyers and artillery from all ages and versions and I think they are heavily underrated and bashed on for what is down to skill issues. Medium and Light tanks are my second favorite to play and constantly switch between the two. Heavy tanks are good, my favorites are definitely T14, M6, T34, Tiger 1, IS-2, and KV-1/2 but I think they are more situational when it comes to maps and spawn points along with what kind of a heavy tank we’re playing. SPAAs I still really love but they’re very weak and kinda get out classed by artillery and by aircraft in most situations, I think many of the lower rank ones need some buffs like proxi shells or adjustable timed fuse shells and some areas of filling in the gaps in tech trees.

So I play a Light Tank as rusher, heavy as a sniper, and a td as cap holder.

Maybe it's because my BR is too low, but I find playing as light tanks incredibly frustrating. I can't penetrate any armor, even with the highest AP-armor available to the tank. So in my mind, very early on I formed the opinion "light tanks are useless. Avoid at all cost".
For the same reason, I've always gravitated towards tank destroyers. No matter what I face, I can shoot and kill it in one shot. Yes, you lack mobility. Yes, you need to position well. But at least when you hit, the enemy is gone.
I think that you forgot about the Falcon SPAA that was a nightmare at 7.3/7.7 before it got a uptier it still does good tho
Heavy tanks are SO much fun. The Tiger(most notibaly the non-German ones) is a nuke grinder. Can't forget the T14 and the KW I C 756 (r)
I have played for many years and i have to agree with u on the heavy tanks . that armor aint worth the bad speed, especially as u move up and encounter different type of shells such as HEAT-FS, atgms, APFSDS. straight up dead weight
I gotta give my fav heavy to the American T34. 120 mm cannon, 8 inches of armor in the front and back of the turret, really good mobility and turret traverse, a fantastic shell, and finally, a solid reload. I do enjoy American 5.7-6.7, and the Easy Eight, Hellcat, M42, T34, and Ontos are my single favorite from each category of american 5.7-6.7.

fair enough, if you get into uptiers the 88 cannons will delete you. Thats one of the downsides I have mentioned about heavy tanks in my video hehe
It's so good in downtiers though, I love taking it with my m4a1 76 too

I've found that lwo tier America is really quite good. I use the M13 with the two .50cals as a light tank/spaa, the M3 Lee as a heavy tank, and the M22 as a medium tank. Oh yeah, and the M2A4 as a shooting target for the enemy.

Putting Missle launchers over SPAs feels criminal. Especially considering how relentlessly you can bully people with them from Rank 2-5
I actually love playing Heavy tanks or Tank destroyer. But I can totally understand the list. And "fun" fact, I have only killed like 5 planes in 1000 matches, I can never manage to hit them :(
some heavy like the somua sm are really good brawler in CQC environment bc they combine mobility, fire power and armor
I think its about time gaijin officially seperate MBTs and medium tanks. Same with IFV and light tanks
i really like the M4A3E2 (75W) cus its fast good armored and an ok gun but with fast reload
I think the M42 is better than the Ostiwind because of its mobility
the amx-50 surbaisse/surblinde is also a very good heavy
as for the mediums my fav is the centurions, specially when the apds was still good

The Jagdpanzers are probably the best tanks in the game.

I would keep it as diverse as possible but medium tanks are not bad. Hope you have at least one spaa and a light tank

Heavy tanks suck most of the game, they are slow as hell and if you even get slightly uptiered you just waste 5 minutes driving to be obliterated by someone you cant see

IS-2 Worst Heavy tank, change my mind . It has a 21seconde reload with expert crew , the weakspots are big.

@@GoodboiOfficial I like how smooth your game looks I have a ryzen 7 7800x with a rtx 4060 ti 8 gb and with ddr5 32 gb of 6500mhz but it dosnt run as smooth as yours for some reason
@@davidcassia1595 thats mostly editing trickery :) I believe our games look very similar. But in my editing software I adjust color and apply motion blur among other things :)

@@davidcassia1595 sadly War Thunder doesn't offer motion blur as a graphics setting. You can however tweak the colors in your gpu driver software.
