  • It's finally here! The blooper. Brain child of Knobs and Chase Bliss Audio. Looping fun for all...well so long as you backed the kickstarter. More production happening in the future of course! Anyway, if you want to see the basics of what this pedal can do, you have come to the right place! I'll be going through all the functions so you can get a glimpse of what it's like to bloop. I've spent a few hours playing with it and reading the manual. Now we'll go through most everything. Ramping will be covered in a future episode just like I plan to do with the Mood.

    Nice demo. It is been a great help. Question, my stability knob adds so much noise that it becomes useless.. yours sounds really great? Do I have a defective unit ot is it a question of upgrade firmware?

    • @kevwyxin
      @kevwyxin  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you haven't updated the firmware I would encourage you to do that. Before the update I noticed some weirdness with the stability knob and it seems to be a lot more...*ahem*...stable after the firmware update. The effect does get pretty intense above noon but it can still sound nice depending on what you're going for. :)

    Can you record one layer with a modifier then other layers without modifiers?

    • @kevwyxin
      @kevwyxin  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes. There is a lot of flexibility, but it could also get messy. As far as I know, you could record a loop, add your modifier, turn off said modifier, record an overdub, and you would have 3 layers. Raw, modified (which is all you hear from the raw now), overdub (unmodified). Then you could add a modifier to that, but it would apply that modifier to all layers...not just the last overdub. That's why I say it *could* get messy...it could also get super creative and cool. ;)

    • @kevwyxin
      @kevwyxin  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If I didn't have the Stability knob turned up, then it probably came from my guitar. The single coils create some low level noise based on my lighting and setup and everything.

      nothing exists that let you gently add and remove layers with a knob sweep. other pedals have "tracks". rc505 has 5 stereo tracks that work sort of like this. the deluge has fabulous loop function too. this is the size of a phase 90. those other things are gigantic. theyre both amazing too.

      Olav Christensen I’m not sure. I haven’t tried clearing one yet. You could probably just overwrite a bank with nothing. As in delete the active loop and then save “nothing” in that bank. Also there is midi capabilities so yes I believe you can but I don’t know the exact CC or PC your midi controller would need to send. My modifier 5 is not the same as yours. It is some sort of a loop trimmer. I can manipulate how much of the loop is played. I actually think on mine that 3 on mine is your 5 and my 5 is your 3. Also when I do one shot layer recording mine seems to cut my loop in half when overdubbing modifiers

    • @kevwyxin
      @kevwyxin  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When you say 'one shot' are you referring to the sample mode? I was just playing with that mode a little more last night, but still have more to learn. That's also curious about the modifiers. I wonder if that is an unintentional mistake. You should bring it up on r/blooper

    • @w-h-y-

      kevwyxin turns out I have a pre production firmware loaded on my blooper after reaching out to chase bliss. • @kevwyxin
      @kevwyxin  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      prnts I just read that email before seeing this comment. :) As for the one shot recording I haven’t noticed that issue. I’ll play around with it but maybe it’s another bug from pre-production firmware? 🤷‍♂️ I’m curious if it does the same thing after your firmware update.

  • @guadalupeperales5725
    @guadalupeperales5725 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can you have infinite layers? For example, keep it playing from the first recorded layer to the last one, where you played around with the mods. Is there a way to hear them all simultaneously? Because for what I understood, if you turn the layers knob clockwise, it gets rid of the first layer, right?

    • @kevwyxin
      @kevwyxin  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can have up to 8 layers. Each layer stacks on top of the last, so when you record layer 2 after layer 1, you will hear layers 1 & 2. When you record a 3rd layer you'll now hear 1, 2, & 3...and so on until you hit layer 8, then layer 8 just continues to compound whatever new stuff you record. Layers knob fully clockwise is hearing all of the layers stacked together. Turning it counter clockwise will remove the last layer. So if you have 8 layers, it will first remove layer 8, then 7, then 6, etc.

    The manual is not clear on how to save a loop

    • @kevwyxin
      @kevwyxin  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      prnts I realize now that you say this I don’t demonstrate how to save the loop. In part 2 I’ll show how to save a loop in addition to the dip switches. Thanks! In the meantime you save it by picking your bank and then pressing and holding the record footswitch. So same method I used to load a saved loop just press and hold the other footswitch. 🙂

      kevwyxin no you did show how well you explained it. I’m pretty sure I won’t have any issues saving after watching your part on loading
