I have an older version of this I bought probably 6-7 years ago. Still works well. Salsa is the main thing I use it for. I actually do pulse chopping for my salsa. I’ll put in a bit of all ingredients and pulse chop, empty and repeat until I have the desired quantity. For smoothie, you just need a bit more liquid. I’d say if it’s thick like what you have, add maybe another 1/4 cup liquid and repeat as needed.
I had one of these and LOVED it!!! It was an older version. I used to make Dr Pepper slurpees/frozen drinks by freezing Diet Dr Pepper in ice cube trays. Then putting frozen diet soda ice cubes in the pitcher with about 2ozs of unfrozen Diet Dr Pepper. Then after it was blended, I had my FAVORITE flavor of slurpee!!! I also recommend using a little less strawberries and a little more milk. I used to try to use frozen sliced strawberries, or slice my own & freeze them. Blueberries are good too! You can make your own peanut butter by adding a tiny bit of peanut oil when you are chopping the Peanuts. Delicious and only natural sugars with no preservatives. Cheaper too! Love your videos!!!
I would just say maybe for a smoothie, to partially thaw the berries. I'm so glad I found your channel. I'm buying this right now. Thanks for the review!
I came across your channel while I was looking for product reviews for blenders by Ninja. Thank you so much for doing this review. Your video definitely helped me make my mind up about buying this blender. I also subscribed to your channel. 😊
Chop your strawberries, in the Meal Prep, until consistent size. I have a 13 yr old Ninja meal prep, used at least once a day, and it died yesterday. The big pitcher finally cracked all the way through, and now it leaks. Came to see the reviews before I bought another, still going with Ninja. I am a Ninja/Shark company fan, their products have done want they say they will do. I have an indoor grill, Deluxe Creami, Meal Prep, and Countertop Oven, and have bought every one of my grown kids and grandkids a blender from Ninja. Glad you like it. I hope my new one lasts as long as my old one, and doesn't have the same problems with cleaning.
just bought one! they are $35 on amazon right now, BUT upon taking it out of the box and putting the lid on the bigger pitcher, the lid will not come off. Like im trying to PRY open that thing and it will NOT come off !! makes me think I got a faulty one? its brand new too
@@TheAverageKitchen took it off! I did it a few times and it's so much easier to take off now, I LOVE THIS THING!!! my old ninja nutri personal blender is LOUD, and has started to leak. Bye bye it goes❤️🙌🏽
Love my Master Prep. In the States, it frequently goes on sale, and I think I only paid $35. The bottom bases do make a cup that fills up in the dishwasher and is very annoying. I wish they could keep that stability with some drain holes.
Salsa you must put all ingredients in one go and pulse 3-4 times. You started with onion, pulsed. Then tomato pulsed.... each time, the fellow before got ground even more. Bad idea
I bought one. And I already tried it out this weekend. Works great! Mine came with two pitchers along with the 16 oz bowl. All the lids and all the tops including the motor are all black. I'm wondering if this is just products sold in USA versus Canada? So far I haven't seen water in the lid but like I said the lids are black that I received. Did yours not come with two pitchers? Maybe there is a slight variation that I'm not noticing. Great product!
Has anyone experienced gunk build up in the lid for the picture?? There’s a tiny compartment (for lack of a better word) that I can’t open to clean! I feel like it might open but I’m afraid to try! Any insights would be greatly appreciated!!
I haven’t used this enough to see build up. But I def can see how it would happen. The have holes in the lid that allows liquids etc to get inside and no way to clean it. Poor design in my opinion. Marc.
Update! It pops off (not intuitively). the piece jiggles and if you get it slightly up, just enough to fit something like a butter knife’s tip, you can pry off easily without fear of it breaking. I thought it might break but I’m past the point of caring. And it worked!
It is thick because you did not put enough milk and if any strawberries were left it's because you did not run it long enough. Blenders does not determine the thickeness or smoothness you do. If you haven't next time add more liquid then run it again to make it smooth.
From our tests, the Blendtec seems to be the best we've tried. Comes with a big budget though. If price is a factor, the Ninjas have been pretty good. - J
Avoid. I have one and the plastic mating surfaces wear down so the blades can't spin. Ninja does not sell replacement parts (plastic female spinner on bottom of motor, would cost under a dollar). Lesson learned: buy food processor with motor on the bottom.
@@TheAverageKitchen Yes! I saw them both! So glad I discovered you, your channel today- you put out great content. Watched your Kitchen Aide mini food prep vid, I'm not buying that one! that salsa looks like soup, nah, i like when food looks pretty, i would chop each item separately to desired pieces put in a bowl, and then combine it, and salsa without cillantro, oh no, no, no lol thank you for the review. I appreciate it.
For slushy things, add ice first & pulse a couple times to crush. Then add the rest of the ingredients. Or, optionally, pulse the ice until it's snow & stir into liquids. If you've got a party planned, buy a bag of ice & crush it ahead of time; store the crush in Ziploc bags & bring out as needed. Makes shaking up cocktails a breeze. These are inexpensive enough to buy a second set, which I'm glad I did. Two pitchers = two different beverages. Plus extra lids & a spare motor pod. Some sets (IIRC "Master Prep Professional") come with a medium food processor-shaped container as well, which is super handy & a better size for salsa making. Or use it as a dedicated ice crusher during parties. It's not commercial grade but it's affordable & versatile for ordinary household use.
I am disappointed. The concept is fantastic. But the execution is terrible. I bought one. I love the power. I love the price. But the material, the fit, and the finish are something to be considered. In the end, I returned it, with regret.
