I had the same exact steering wheel for my 1973 96 V4 I bought in 86 while in college. It was a time when people were wearing Jean jackets here in the States in New England, and the buttons on the cuffs of my jacket would occasionally get stuck in the center groove of the stering wheel spokes...especially when I was backing up. I always had to roll up my sleeves when driving the car. The steering wheel was a gift from my Uncle who had saved it from one of his 93s.
Did you take off in 3rd ?Or is all the power up top,ported motor?Love 2 strokes,had plenty bikes back in the day.Kawasaki triples a particular favourite.

once it gets up to speed it can boogie, but getting it off the line was diabolical.
