    I have a Phantek P600s and it's an amazingly well rounded case though I have been considering changing just for the hell of it but not this BeQuiet or anything else I looked at one ups the Phantek

      The P600S is a nice case. 👍

      The P600s somehow slipped under my radar when I was looking for a solid sided case that can hold at least 3 hdd's, I stumbled on it just after I ordered my be quiet silent base 802. In hindsight I would go for the Phanteks, although the price is even worse than the be quiet.

    I looked at all the BeQuiet case models and also looked at the Jonsbo D500, but I chose the BeQuiet Dark Base 701. This is the case I need. I like it when there is a mesh at the front for airflow. I don't like it when the front is closed with a blank wall and there are side holes. I like the air pass through and the hot air is blown out by the top coolers. BeQuiet Dark Base 701 looks very nice. I love. I don’t need bays for a 3.5” HDD, I use an SSD and I don’t like that in other BeQuiet cases there are a bunch of bays for a 3.5” HDD in the wiring area, but in the BeQuiet Dark Base 701 everything is clear, there’s a lot of free space and I can lay it out beautifully cables, and if you suddenly need a 3.5" HDD, I can place them on the side and that's great. I use the front part to install the radiator. I use a sandwich. The coolers are located both on the front of the radiator and on the back. This allows air to pass efficiently through the radiator, where the coolers on the back side of the radiator suck in the forced air with the front coolers. The coolers on the back side of the radiator blow out cool air, thereby cooling the memory and video card, and the hot air is blown out by the top coolers. The i9 14900K does not have a higher temperature in games and work applications 80 degrees, and the 4070 video card does not heat above 60 degrees.

    Hi, I know it doesn't officially support 420mm radiators (as also stated by you in the vid) but, do you think it could fit at the top mount IF you removed the rear fan (similar to the Lancool 3 and Meshify 2 non-xl as they can only fit the big rad at the top if you run a slim 120mm fan in the back, otherwise, the thicker fan reduces the max clearance for the rad) ? Asking because the external measurements of the 701 are slightly larger than the shadowbase 800, while the 800 officially supports the 420mm rad and there looks to be a "big" gap behind of the rad in your video when you show your build from the side. Thank you in advance for your time

    4:00 Interesting that they took a step backwards, I have the Silent Base 802 which pre-dates this case, mine came with a double 3.5" tray for the basement, as well as a single tray to mount behind the front intake fans, where you can put another 4x 3.5" drives if you buy another 4 single trays.

      I have a Silent Base 802 as well. It has loads of storage. I'm currently using it as a server.

      @@ECPUz I only bought it because I wanted a no glass case with with room for at least 3 hdd's, such cases seem rare these days. I dropped the case straight after building it due to the front and bottom filter covers coming off so easily, have to be very careful how you carry it! I also found the padding on the inside of the back cover got in the way and stopped the cover from being able to close correctly, so I scraped the bottom half of it off. Mounting 2 hdd's on the back of the tray in the 701 looks like it would be very close to the same issue.

      See, this case is very confusing. The dark base 700 does have better ATX cable management including rubber grommets all the way down. The 701 is lacking that, with a massive gap that doesn't look that nice. They still have the exact same problem in both, 700 and 701 with the GPU being too close to the tempered glass. Fitting a GTX1070 vertically was rather dangerous so I can't imagine fitting a modern GPU vertically. They could have used the same system as the Shadow base 800 and rotate the whole PCI module(!).
      Cable management: the 701 at the back seems to have the necessary cabling channels whereas the Shadow base 800 does not and is very messy.
      The Dark base 701 finishing is very slick/neat, the edges are very refined including fan control- the Shadow base 800 does not have fan control for some reason despite having a fan hub installed(!) Wtf Bequiet?
      Just hard to see how Bequiet has allocated the pricing fairly on these 2 cases, because important and basic features are missing in both.
      The 701 should have been able to fit a 420mm radiator at top and not the Shadow base 800. Today it seems the Dark base 701 is priced over £200 making it a hard sale. The Shadow base 800 is way cheaper but provides both proper vertical GPU mount and 420mm radiator support with better clearance for front radiators. Temperatures are still great in both cases.

    What is the best case to silence an AIO cooler and GPU coil whine?

    Did you use a vertical gpu support bracket or just the include vertical mounting slots? If just the slots, how stable was the card in the vertical position?

    • @ECPUz
      @ECPUz  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I didn't use a separate support. It seems fine to me, but the A770 isn't a big heavy GPU. If you've got something bigger, you might want to support it.

    Thanks for 0:55 , first video where glass side and tint level is shown. Everyone just take it off when making a video. For me its important as dark tint like on Corsair 4000d is not suitable for non rgb builds. This one looks like its not that dark

      @ECPUz  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      i'd consider it lightly tinted on the 701 - not too dark!

    SIGHHHH i have to say the be quiet dark base pro still blows out all these new cases out of the water from be quiet.... theres the newer shadow base, dark base 701 and dark base 901 BUT the dark base pro 900 was and still is BADASS. wish they still made it because i would buy it. im passing on the new versions

      I would assume it would get better wth newer versions. What do you think they are lacking in comparison?

      @@0XFallen They went over the top with the new ones in terms of looks and the grills and airflow of the case it took away from the look but also it will be louder because of this. the first pro 900 had good cooling and also since there was less mesh it will be quieter. Now the cases are to over the top like some flashy kids toy where as in the first place nailed it check out the first dark pros they were awesome an "elegant" looking case as linus would say from linustechtips but still had flare to it that case looked totally badass id to buy one but they are discontinued

    I love this case, just not its price point. 220 is a lot these days. I feel like it should have included a 4th fan for 220. I'm pretty torn on if I'm getting it or not for my next build.
