Our granddaughter has a very rare chromosome disorder, leaving her severely delayed and mostly nonverbal. She loves this, and cries when she hears it. She "says" it makes her happy. May we all feel such profound joy.

Frank, had the same journey as you, heard Come Monday on AM radio, and fell in love with his music, as I recall that was just before he dived into the Rum drinking Caribbean rock and roll that made him legendary but later, Pirate looks at forty for me, was his masterpiece. Still trying to imagine a world without Jimmy two weeks after his departure, but his legendary music lives on, in that sense he has never left us nor will he ever.
Agreed ,one of my favorite songs . If you can find a copy of his album Live you had to be there listen to Gods own drunk . The whole album is like a greatest hits album but it was recorded early in his voyage.
I bartended at Margaritaville in Key West for a few years, and listened to this song countless times, but it never gets old. Thanks for the soundtrack, Jimmy!

@@jessicamullaney4742 You enter a new life stage. More becomes nostalgic, but you gain more confidence in who you are and your place in this world. It's kind of a relief. Like I said, Jimmy is talking to you in this song. It takes a little interpretation but you start to get how it applies to you. It's bitter sweet...but we all arrive at 40 and somehow we find comfort in it.

I began to get really emotional hearing how Jimmy toned himself down a bit to allow Sarah‘s voice to be heard. She was also so reverent to allow Jimmy to be heard. He was a beautiful soul. I’m so filled with love that he was with us for a short time, but a time that made a big difference. Love to Jimmy, Sarah, and to all brethren; we are truly One. May all of humanity catch on sooner than later 💔🙏🏼🩷🤲🏼💔

Was rushing my first boat my first trip to the islands after a rushed New England summer. "Changes In Lattitude" slowed me, ruined me. That is, rushing didn't work anymore, didn't even make sense. Every song on every alblum--YES, "I've seen it all . . ." and shared every island listening to his gifts. "Come Monday" hope to sea ya again, Jimmy.
My late wife loved this song. I think of her and fond memories everytime I hear it. Jimmy is amazing, he is a rascal and an American treasure at the same time. Not many people could pull that off. Keep sailing brother!!
Every song on A1A is a gem.Massively under-rated record.
I had been aware of "Come Monday" earlier, from radio play, I guess, but in Summer 1976 a friend brought over the A1A album, and something about it really grabbed me.
I have been hooked on Buffett ever since.
He had a good life all the way, but I will miss him.

Wow! At about 1 minute in it’s like JB wanted to quit singing, keep playing and listen to Sarah’s incredibly angelic voice sing one of his many masterpieces. I hope Sarah uses JB’s passing to record an album of JB covers. “Pirate”, “Paris”, “Einstein”, “Havana”, “Monday” and so many others that she would reframe in such an amazing way.
👍 I would buy that music if Sarah did that! I’ve listened to JB for over 40 years and Sarah for 20+ years. They are two of my all time favorites. This world will truly miss Jimmy. He was one of a kind.

A lot longer than 20. The pirate will soon be looking at 80. He'll be 77 next Christmas.
What can I say? After so many years, the man went out on top. Very few can say that and so many appreciate and grateful for it. Sail on sailor.
Late 70's, just turned 21, found myself in Miami. And then I found Jimmy....he wasn't the star he became just yet internationally. South Florida, he was king. I took many of his words to heart and made myself part of the Keys for my time there....including "a bit of smuggling". He was part of who I became, what I thought of myself, my surroundings and my future.
And a couple of years later I had the pleasure of sharing a joint with him in the parking lot of Dirty Ernie's. He didn't guide my life, he just shined a little light my way. For that Jimmy I am ever grateful.
He was Islands not Country learned from Jerry Jeff Walker traveling in the big Caddy seen him JJW here in CA a few years back before he passed. Jimmy was special he will hold this for many moons.

Most live versions of this make me cry. Even when I saw him live! This one-Love what Sarah adds to it here. They’re great together. But really, how could anyone EVER stop missing JB?
Not too many people on this planet I want a handshake from. Mr Buffett is #1 on that list. So many memories good bad and in the middle with his music. Concerts friends. Strangers. New friends. Just a wonderful world he paints. If the world could live at his concerts. No war... No race issues.. No problems. All love. What a wonderful place.

I'm a huge Buffett fan, but some pilots I know that flew for him say he is quite a jerk ! That is so sad to hear and I hope it is not true.

My Gosh, this is probably the very best interpretation of his own song I have ever seen. The setting, his love of song and performance, AND, add Sara McGlachlan whose voice and beauty reigns. I so wish I had been there for this show. Perfect and I’ve been following Mr Buffet since seeing him play The Great Southeast Music Hall in Atlanta GA back in the mid seventies. Vern Smith - I truly hope you are still alive and kicking, and that this finds you cranking up JB to the annoyance of all who simply can't understand why... I invested 27 years of my life in the navy, many of them posing as a pirate in khakis - plundering good order and discipline for all it was worth... I also think back from time to time to my time in Danang, the PI, Hawaii, Portsmouth England, Morocco, NSA New Orleans, and NAS Memphis, ten consecutive years in Bermuda and a year with the Marines in the Gulf War before getting hitched to my very first ship the very day I had 25 years in - headed straight for the the Caribbean then on to Cartagena Colombia, ... 1967-1994 - did our paths ever cross?

I haven’t really listened to Sarah McLachlan beyond her hits that got a lot of radio/“MTV” play back when, but it’s only now I’ve realized how stunningly gorgeous she is and that her voice is one of the most beautiful I’ve ever heard.
That concert was the last time my wife and I saw Jimmy. It was a friday night and on Saturday we flew to Maui to spend a few weeks in our favourite place, Lahina, where we had our first date 45 years ago. We will always have our memories of special people and places that we enjoyed together. RIP Jimmy and so many fine folks in Maui.

Though I was blessed to see Jimmy in concert many times, I most remember when he flew his seaplane to Oshkosh, Wi, for the EAA convention. He would often show up at the Acey Duecy Bar (sic) in town and have a few drinks with the locals and trade stories. Great guy!

This song is a reminder of my sister. We are no longer talking to each other and she wants nothing to do with me. I'm heartbroken because I have done so much for her. I stood by her during her breast cancer and I helped her but her house. I was there when she had no car giving her rides to and from work. But she is mad at me because I bought a firearm and did not tell her right away.
