I grew up in the Mid-Atlantic, east coast, USA... and our winters tucked. Chilly to cold, grey and wet... sometimes snowy. Jimmy kept me warm until summer. Saw him 5 times and regret not seeing him 5 more. It's just that I now live in SoCal and the tour stops here we're spotty at best...
Not to steal from Jimmy, but his music gave me a whole new attitude. I'm a Vietnam Veteran who returned with some baggage, but I would shove in " High Cumberland Jubilee" in the old 8 track and the lyrics would make things look a whole lot different, better. I've seen at least five or six live concerts from Shoreline Amphitheater, to the Lane County Fair where it was just him and his guitar. The Greek Thearter in Berkeley and in my hometown of Sacramento, playing with the Corral Reefer Band. The concerts just flowed right along and he made it look so easy, but he ran a tight ship, Playlists, jokes, sidebars and videos on the big screen. He was in control from "Fins" to "Come Monday," one of my favorites. They are all my favorites no matter which CD I picked up, that's my favorite Sadly, Jimmy's gone, but I'm sure the Parrotheads will do our best to " Keep the Party Going". Gone But Never Forgotten. Rest in Peace, Bubba Haven't seen as many as some of the Parrotheads, but everyone I saw was one to remember. The first, he thing he would do is grab the crowd some talk of about whatever town he in
in from Key West to Wrigley Field, he made think it was their own private concert right their town. I hope Michael McManley will do his best to hold the Reefers together for a little while Get Kenny Chaney, Alan Jackson or Zac Brown appear as guests. Sounds simple, Right? Without Jimmy the whole thing may fall through. I know the Parrotheads will break out the Hawaiian shirts, grass skirts. coconut bras, the beach ball and big fins and party just like Bubba does well do the old man proud! There's Gypsies in the palace.
yes i am am a pirate, just 200 years to late... totally agree! Jack Johnson for BUFFETT 2024/future. Funny, 1978, i was in charge of being the DJ at our house party. GE Record player. i had 5 records (45's) 1 being Jimmy Buffett - "Margaretiville" and also, Freddy Fender - " Wasted Days and Wasted Nights" obtw- growing up in south texas,,,,,, i miss Freddie and my old stomping grounds.
I travelled over 20 years as a safety officer within the big industrial construction world. I traveled many years and many hotels and motels…I would always ask the receptionist what’s going on in the new town I was in… I stopped for a night along the 5 freeway between San Diego and Newport Beach…as I parked I saw some lights across the street and then asked the receptionist what was going on across the street? She said some musician named jimmy buffet was doing a show at the rodeo grounds…bored I grabbed a pint of whiskey and headed that way after dropping my gear in the room. Driving through the parking lot I saw what looked like tourists with beach balls and parrots on their shoulder , both fake and real, with huge smiles and happy attitudes…I parked, the car next to me offers shots and a burger within one minute of exiting the truck. I partied my way to the ticket booth, paid ten bucks and had one of the best times ive ever had at a random show! Mind you I’m more Metallica and Van Halen, but I was an instant fan of the music and the audience participation, the beach balls, the joint’s going person to person…for a random night I became a huge fan of jimmy and the people that loved jimmy! Good good times

My ex wife and I had a pretty rough divorce. When Jimmy died, she reached out in a very selfless way. We're never getting back together, but it helped heal some old wound.
The ocean is life. We sail it or we sink into it. Jimmy and Jack helped me so much a a young man coming to deal with my rebel ways. Life gives you love if you let it.

1985... outside of the Oakland coliseum... Maria Mulder (opening act) singing "Midnight at the Oasis"... it's dark outside when Jimmy's limo pulls up... as he's walking towards me, I'm trying to look non-threatening with a Fender Telecaster neck and a permanent ink marker in hand... Jimmy says, "I don't fix'm, I just play'm." Took that treasure he signed straight to my truck and sprayed a coat of clear laquer over his signature. Years later I sold that "Jimmy Buffett Custom" guitar I built on craigslist to raise some money for a move to Hawaii. Got to live in "paradise" for 15 years before heading back to California. Thanks for sharing the dream Jimmy... Yes, I too, am a pirate.
As many Parrotheads, Jimmy's music did change my life . I first heard his genius on "High Cumberland Jubilee" and " God Don't Own Car" and Bubbles Up. There was always one of his songs on the tip of my tongue. And all the tunes made me smile, just magic He is missed. Gone but never forgotten.
This and "He Went To Paris" was the only two songs I could sing to my newborn son to put him to sleep. Jimmy, some of it's magic, and some of it's tragic, but you had a good life all the way.
The hole in my soul is still large but this type of tribute fills some of it!! Love my Brother Jimmy!! Blessings & Prayers to All & Thanks for the music in Jimmy's honor!!

Another wonderful song and tribute and I was in New Orleans for a Jazz Festival and we saw Jimmy Buffet at the festival and then at the midnight riverboat show and coincidentally ended up in a bourbon street bar, he was friends with Ed Brady RIP and sang a song 60 minutes man! They locked the doors so I played some simple percussion 🎉🎉🎉I was locked in with beautiful Jimmy Buffet until I'll never remember even what day it was 😂❤🎉Thanks for bringing such joy to my morning and heart and soul 🎉Beth in Bend Oregon ❤️ 🎉🎉🎉❤
My #1 favorite songs! I was lucky to be at the Bowl to see and hear all the wonderful songs and artists. Thank you for my 30 years of going to concerts. Bubbles up is one that speaks to me as well.
I moved to the keys in 02, a guy named Grateful Ted, played this song every night...later i learned it was a Buffet song...awesome and we lived it in the keys!
I am so bummed I did not even know this concert was in town, I would have love to go, I would have sat on any seat just so I could be there and experience it.
Life long parrot head here. I used listen to his music back in the early 70's on am radio. Later, I had much of his music on cassette. I'd plug in one of his tapes in my Sony Walkman and ski the best mountain in the world, Crystal Mountain in Washington state. There's nothingblike carving up the snow while grooving on his music, that or, Gordon Lightfoot (I miss Gordon as well!). I had a dozen, or more, Hawaiian shirts that I'd wear no matter the weather. There's a picture of me and a friend in shorts, flipflops and Hawaiian shirts holding margaritas standing outside in -25°F weather up in the northwest part of Alaska. Jimmy has been part of my sound track for over 54 years. I miss him dearly.
