1. Duplicate image > Ctrl + J
2. Invert image > Ctrl + I and Change Blend mode to "Vivid Light"
3. Go to menu "Filter > Other > High Pass"
4. Adjust depending on resolution of photo. In this example > 15.3
5. Go to menu "Filter > Blur > Gaussion Blur"
6. Increase Radius. In this example > 3.2
7. Create a mask > Alt + Click on little "rectangle with circle in it" icon bottom right
8. Select Brush Tool. Foreground should be White. Select a Soft Brush
9. Paint on areas you want to fix
Suggestion: Create and Record an Action till Step 8, so that you can achieve this in 1 Click next time. All you'll have to do is Start Painting away imperfections.
Is isn't work on CS3? I had done all things but it doesn't work

frequency separation works way better, takes longer time. but more realistic. and worth it. this is just as good, but the skin looks too smooth, and just unrealistic.

Love you work, but in this instance I must say that this technique has one fault: the fixed areas look too creamy and lack skin texture, thus it might not be useful for large prints (skin care products, etc.). Still, it will work great for smaller output such as ID photos and smaller posters. For those looking to retain skin texture, you will need to use the old frequency separation technique that includes tons of cloning.

HI. I am following step by step and the brush is not doing anything. The layer mask is selected when I am using the brush. I don't know what I am doing wrong.
