There's a reason the bass singer and beatboxer are known as "the rhythm section" in a cappella. they work together as a team to cover the rhythm for the three others, while the bass at the same time also has to fill the role as harmony singer with the others. bass and percussion have to work as a team, and Geoff and Layne are well known for working extremely well together. both very strong individually and also helping each other amplify what the other is doing or even making individual sounds to create a sound requiring a combination of them both simultaneously to achieve.
OH Girl, you gotta get you a good set of headphones...it's the only way to hear all the yumminess that is VoicePlay!!! I was about 15 or so when this came out and it has remained one of my favorite songs ever since! This is SUCH a great arrangement by Layne and Eli (who is starting to do more arranging these days, and I am all in for it!) and their take is both respectful of the original without being a total copy. SO GOOD!!! Great reaction! You got a new subscriber!
Hey everyone! I hope you all had a beautiful weekend and your week is off to a great start! I'm aware that some of the sound from my mic is a bit off from time to time. I promise, I'm working to fix everything ASAP! Technology has not been my friend 😂 Have a super evening, friends ✨️ 😊
Voiceplay always pays homage to the original, but will never do a cookie cutter arrangement. Geoff has said, Why do something that someone else has already done? You might want to check out their versions of Don't Stop Believin', Mr Blue Sky, I Will Survive, and Kiss. Great reaction!
It's credited to Layne with Eli, but I agree that Eli put a stamp on it. Willing to bet that Layne designed the rhythms, and the interplay with Geoff, as for the rest, there are parts I just can't tell which of them did it. Maybe they literally worked together.
Thank you for another priceless reaction to Voice Play. I love how you capture so much more than most reactors do. Your right, Layne & Geoff Play off of each other so nicely. If you haven't already please do a reaction video to Voice Plays cover of Hell Fire from The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Geoff is the evil Minister Frolo. He does evil so well. Listen to Cesar's air guitar. He can do more with his voice than people give him credit for. We all love how Cesar's expressions & playfulness.please check out Geoff Castallucci's solo channel. He almost always clones himself 3 or 4 times to harmonize with himself. Please do a reaction video to Geoff's soli cover of Shenandoah. It shows off one of his best vocals. Yes he plays the piano in several of his songs & the harmonica in Folsom Prison Blues.
I LOVE THEM but the percussionist needs more camera time. Hes fantastic!! What he does is SO challenging. Marvelous to hear all of them though!! Wonderful!
Love the completeness of the arrangement. More from VoicePlay you might enjoy: Creep (RadioHead), Dragonborn Comes Skyrim, It Ain't Me (Kygo), Wicked Medley, Friends on the Other Side (The Princess and the Frog), I Can't Make You Love Me (Bonnie Raitt), We're Good (Dua Lipa), Tennessee Whiskey (Chris Stapleton). Queen in 5 Minutes.

Also in all live bands the bass & drum players always play off each other.

Layne and Geoff have been playing off each other since they were in Middle School.

Years ago Geoff taught Layne how to beatbox, they both have 5 octave voices.
Love this song. But it will forever be associated with 2 brothers in a 1967 Impala…
Love this! 🌹🕊
They are just so so good! ❤
