Finally my favorite pokemon has a legit niche. Chandelure has the single highest special attack of any pokemon in reg H. It's still not *amazing*, on account of it's mediocre speed and bulk. But with enough support i think it can be viable as a cleanup sweeper.
There's also Barraskewda for Swift Swim as well. With its incredibly deep move pool, getting it in the rain makes it stupid strong as well. I ran it with either Choice Band, Expert Belt or Life Orb, depending on what my non-core was. The EVs were just Max Attack and Speed. I ran the CB and AV sets a little in the early days of Gen 9 VGC. Along with Anihilape (Max HP, some Speed, rest Attack) holding a Choice Scarf and Final Gambit. The last part of this core was, obviously, Pelliper. With a first move U-Turn or Tailwind, depending on what was across from me. Barraskewda is already fast, with 326 in the rain, but sending it to 752, after a Tailwind, there isn't going to be anything outspeeding or wanting to switch in to the attack. Especially if it's a Water attack. Was a really fun team.

I also think that tera types are great for the new regulation of mons where it can sometimes be used to allow something that otherwise may have too much of a weakness in some form to be viable. With the paradox mons and the past regulation it felt like instead of making something viable it made something that was already viable that much more annoying. It also kind of contributed to an even more well defined stagnent meta. I absolutely love the idea of tera especially in comparison to dynamax but it just felt a bit stale in the last regulation.

This just requires trick room with bulkier mon. When I look at the format and who is popular, most teams don't take advantage of the weather or have some kind of team strategy, they just put 6 splash pokemon on the field and try and hit first, this approach actually can be quite simple to counter especially if the team is very predictable. Just wanted to point out about the doubling base speed in the sylveon example: Things like Tailwind or +2 in speed isn't doubling your base speed but the speed stat it has. so it isn't the base 60 being doubled to 120, but whatever base 60 speed puts you at. so if base 60 speed gives you 110 speed(just an example idk the exact stat) then in Tailwind it becomes 220 which DOES outspeed flutter.
I actually really like the four way speed deadlock. It tends to encourage more variety as it becomes harder for everyone to land on the same choice. I’ve hated competitive mon since Lando entered the scene

They are right though, since each mon wouldn't need to be spread thin to counter as many opponents as possible Though stability comes a format where you see the same mon every time, and the format becomes boring
Highly restricted formats gain appeal whenever power creep is at a peak. In that sense, I really like this decision to ban the mons inhibiting choice/variety.
The best Pokémon format is double restricted. Formats with no restricteds have way to many viable Pokémon and that total lack of polarisation makes a frustrating competitive environment. One restricted Pokémon is the worst format because some restricted Pokémon are just better than the rest of them. The opportunity cost of not using them is too high, and so it creates a boring super polarised meta. Double restricted is the perfect in-between. The opportunity cost for not using the best restricted mons is lower because you have two, and the fact that you have two opens up ways to counter the top restricteds that were not open with just one. The presence of restricteds still polarises everything else, but the presence of two stops them from polarising each other anywhere near as badly.
I really wish I could participate in this format, but I won't be able until 2025 and then the broken legends are back. I guess there's always gen 10, I just really wish Pokemon cools it with some of these absurdly broken ones by then.
