I think the greatest vlogger and youtuber foreigner in the the Philippines now to me is Dustin Borglin Bacpacks. He is on quarantine in Toledo, Cebu Province, He lives and bonded with a Filipino Family and the community, He is humble, simple down to Earth, emphatetic toward the Filipino culture, he don't drive a fancy car, bike or anything on luxury, he blends in and enjoy the Filipino culture and dont't brag or boastful, he is a simple traveler, adventurer, explorer and just a backpacker. He is honorable and I admire people like that, He is from the United States..
It’s cool you’re promoting local small TH-camrs, you’re very kind and I hope they get more subs because of this but I’ll def not going to search and follow them because I only follow very few people that I find interesting and I dont want my notifications on TH-cam to keep notifying me.
It’s nice that you mentioned Filipina Life. We have been watching her channel gain subs and her skills improve. We live in Mindanao and know how hard it is for a farmer family.
Hey Tom! I really think it's awesome of you to promote others there in the Philippines and not just yourself. You always seem like a very kind and generous person, and this video confirms it👍🏾.
I believe you deserve a lot more attention, Tom. More subscribers and followers. Hope you reach a million a lot sooner and still have a keep it real and meaningful content.
I love Tom's content. Walang paligoy ligoy or yun bang madaming plug. Direct to the point. Well, that's his style naman 😊 *Thank you for the recommendations Tom!*
I was drawn to your channel because of your vlog on Pinoybaiting. I've loved how you've committed to what you said there since then. You promoting these TH-camrs was just so awesome.
My son Marty Arquiza has a channel! Please subscribe, hehe. He's just starting out and doesn't really know what subjects to focus on, so please bear with the varied content. He's still trying to find his voice. Thanks!
wow Filipina Life on your list. Bravo sir. please check out the Filipina Pea who is dominating the YT expat community right now in the PI. she does her research like you. actually you would make a cute couple.
About your vlog re “PINOYBAITING”...Well said 🙏🏽 Here’s my perspective, let’s simply put it this way...IMHO...vlogging i think is a kind of entertainment “business”... in socmed platform...and from a business perspective... and environment... just like in any kind of business... you need a product and a label... and here... in this vlogging format... the product is “the Philippines”... and comes with it are the different variants- its natural beauty...nice beaches... waterfalls... tourist destinations... food... lovely friendly happy hospitable engaging welcoming (many English speaking) people... world class vocalist/singers... artists... its history... and putting the Philippine flag in the thumbnail... calling it a “clickbait”... a trap.. and yes... it is indeed a marketing strategy... a hype... but I think there’s nothing wrong with that... it’s just like buying any kind of product and in the packaging... it says “Made in the Philippines” (it could also be from India, Korea, Japan, UK, USA)... watching a vlog is like you paying to watch a good or bad movie or a concert... it’s an option to either watch or not... these vloggers just like any businessman invites or entices you to try their product... that’s why at the beginning or at the end of the video they say “please click that subscribe button and notification bell” and also to subscribe to all their other socmed accounts... the number of subscribers and viewers translates to monetization of their contents in You Tube channel... and other socmed platform... they obviously need an income to support their effort/project...they also heavily invest in their camera... drone... microphone...and lighting equipment, etc... and for their other incurred expenses... travel... accommodation and food, etc... and to some vloggers... it could be a career for them and a full time job...and a good editing is not a joke... and some have decided to make Philippines as their home based... and some were doing some serious in-depth cultural immersion... and because some vloggers are also half Filipinos... living and reconnecting to their Filipino roots... and also because most things are relatively cheaper here... and generally easygoing...and English is widely spoken... and it’s strategic to travel in Asia region...as what I have said... its just like any kind of business... many foreign businesses and companies also have their regional and international base here... and I believe there’s nothing wrong with that... it just makes sense...if they relatively get more subscribers and viewers first from Filipino audience...cos they carry and cater a “Philippine product”...and yes...some are genuinely sincere creators...true and honest in their appreciation of the content they created... in what they react to...about the Philippines, it’s culture...history and it’s people... the great singers (another dedicated content), etc... while some vloggers may not be the same...they are just copycats...and/or just jumped on the bandwagon... they just want to attract and collect subscribers and viewers... and get monetized... make a killing from the works of others... but then again... in a normal business... there are many same products... some are adulterated...poor imitation...utterly fake...by different manufacturer... under a different brand... and different label... and different presentation... there’s no patent and exclusivity in the content creation in vlogging... it’s a free market... it’s capitalism... just like a cover song... adapted by so many good and not so good singers... then it’s your discretion... and call... who to watch... listen... subscribe... follow or not... after all... a bad publicity is still a publicity... if you enjoy it then dig it... if not... then don’t click, watch, or follow ... it’s a judgement call... no need for bashing and insults... maybe it’s also their “business style”... can seem to look like an imitation... or a fake “product”... which is also a practice in any kind of business... for me... putting some real hard work on every content... is all appreciation and kudos... mind you... they are also doing such great service promoting the country... the culture... it’s people... and the Filipino singers and artists... especially to all OFWs who are homesick... and missed their country... their hometown... their culture... their loved ones... and hearing those beautiful voices from their favorite singers... especially in this challenging times... when most OFWs and Filipinos were in quarantine... or worse many lost their job... it’s helping them to keep their sanity... it serves as an inspiration... and to still have a reason to keep on living ang moving on... yes... sometimes Filipinos may be too proud to a fault ... and sometimes need some validation (like some comments) ... but hey... it’s just but normal to some Filipinos to have such a strong sentiment... it’s a competitive world out there... but many Filipinos may have the right to be proud...cos they truly have a great source of pride... inspiration...and motivation... and we truly have lots to show to the world... and so... to all vloggers... who sincerely...(exclusively) dedicate their vlogs featuring the “so-called Philippine products” in socmed... my big thanks and appreciation... and kudos to all your sincere hard work... more power to you all... keep up the good work... and always keep those current issues... genuine concerns... and interesting relatable topics and legit innovative contents about the Philippines, etc coming... in behalf of my country and of many Filipino people... you all will have our continuous support and love... and we also appreciate to those vloggers who in their own small or big way have also extended their generosity in helping through some charity and social service work... stay safe... be healthy... and may God bless you all...🙏🏽 My final take ... I think “exploitation” is quite a strong word to describe what vloggers were doing to Filipino contents... you can’t generalize everybody or judge one’s sincerity, intention and agenda... so maybe “too much liking” or “overwhelmed” for anything Filipino is more appropriate to say... psycho-economic exploitation is more applicable to the auto-suggestive advertisements... but unfortunately... that’s one way how they’re being monetized...🤔🙄😩🤗 That’s my two cents...🙏🏽
It's not a vlogger, but I think you should also promote Philippine Eagle Foundation. They have a measly 800+ subscriber. They need all the help that they could get to protect the eagle endemic to the Philippines. In fact, that's the only channel I subscribe to. Thanks.
Wow. Just wow. I didn't know there were these creators out there. My algorithm doesn't show them and I've been trying to clean it up and veering away from creators who as you said, are not our allies. Thank you for featuring them here. PS: I hope you set up a community here in TH-cam so that we have more ways to show our support. All the best!
Dude if you say josh chua is like peter mckinnon boy he must be good. Very recent i watched another vlog of a seafarer "kim olavere" his vlog is pretty decent. I follow dan mace he is good, so far i haven't watch any filipino vlogger who creates a vlog like dan mace style.
Tom... somehow...I think you’re a very smart socmed “businessman”... now you’re innovating yourself by using another approach in your vlogging... how to be more captivating in a way... but still capitalizing on the “Filipino” sentiment... to raise more interest in your vlogs... to get more subscribers and viewers... and eventually be monetized... also through ads... it seems that you really understand the “Pinoy psyche and sentiment”... just the same... still clickbaiting for pinoy pride and validation... sans the PH flag... but you will still be using the word “Filipino”... “Pinoy”... “Philippines” in your contents... obviously... you can’t get away from it... because it’s the kind of business “product” that you’re selling... you still have to brand it... maybe a different variant this time ... so to speak... no need to get around with it... what you’re doing is just part of the socmed platform creation and broadcast... there’s nothing wrong with that... you can keep on reinventing and innovating... but so long the contents are the same... about “the Philippines”... and anything related to it... as a variant... you’re still and will be clickbaiting... and Pinoys will just devour it with gusto... so... just please stop portraying yourself as “holier-than-thou”... there is always the good... the bad... and the ugly... Pinoy viewers will just have so many other options... it’s up to them to choose... select and collect... according to their taste... liking... character... mentality... and personality... and moral conscience... BTW... there are a few Pinoy creators vloggers... and so-called influencers... with millions of subscribers and viewers (can you imagine)... just like in a business... apparently they have a particular and distinct product... and specific target market... be it all about make-up and fashion... gaming... singing and dancing... food... travel... nature... or anything personal (routine and activity)... Pinoy viewers will just click it... just to pass the time cos they’re curious... and maybe bored... but if you really examine and reflect on it... it’s just a copycat... a copy paste... an imitation... a 15-minutes-of-fame... some of the creators and their contents are just rubbish... to say the least... self-serving... narcissistic egocentric contents... too much drama... and no moral value at all... whatsoever... no informative... educational... or learning value at all... some vloggers even swears... it just also reflects the subscribers own psyche... so what is really there for these creators and influencers to share and to influence... it’s just sad... and they’re gaining more popularity than other sincere... serious and valuable creators... people are becoming more dumb... dumber... dumbest... 🤔🙄😩 Just saying... please don’t judge me... I’m not a book... 🤗✌️🙏🏽
