The guy has a world inside, you never know who will come out next time he open his mouth. such an incredible thing to actually see these voice actors doing their stuff.
Its crazy how much of a phenomenon the Simpsons were. The audience here went more insane for this actor who does almost exclusively voice acting than they have for any other conan interview Ive ever seen.
I -love- his facial expressions when he does Groundskeeper Willy. I generally enjoy any voice actors who start physically getting into the role, Mark Hamill doing Joker being the best example.
Dan is such a great guy, and I'm glad Conan got to interview him all those years ago to create such a great collection of silly voices to listen and laugh at.
Someone should animate this interview, replacing Dan's head to the characters heads that he's voicing. I would love to see Conan reappear as himself on The Simpsons with the updated animation design. His previous look on the show wasn't as detailed as it could had been.
I think that would be great, but the new animation style is something I really disagree with. The older animation had so much more to offer, characters were real, animated characters rather than crisp, clean, soulless cardboard cutouts. The Simpsons only ever had one true art style.
It's so weird how clear he makes the voice come out like it sounds like it's coming from like a tv speaker as I'm watching the Simpsons lol. Especially for an old episode it's even weirder . But damn this guy is a legend . Loved every charector he voiced . Like a 90s Mel Blanc

I worked with Dan on set in 2015, or 2016 maybe, and he was absolutely as kind and personable as he comes across here in 2000. Obviously, he was 15 years older than in this clip but for his credibility and experience he still gave anyone the time of day, and I respect that in a person in that fast-paced industry.
To this day, I have no idea how voicing Krusty the Clown did not impact or hurt his throat, especially after voicing him for 34 years. He has such a deep voice with the Krusty character. But he does a good job with it.

When he does a character the voice his face goes into contortions as if he was the character his facial movements are so funny..Great love it...
Often the animators will watch the voice artists for ideas on how the characters will look or move, it’s a two way street, he will give them cues and vice versa. Those characters have been around for so long I bet the animators and Dan can’t remember who created which aspects of the ‘look’ of Homer etc.
Daws Butler was exactly the same.
Yeah I feel like especially watching grandpa Simpson it felt like he was TRYING to look like an old man (in that instance, I think it’s that he’s partially covering his teeth with his lips to sound like an old man without teeth
Guests on Conan are so Natural and always seem to be at home. They come up with great jokes, awesome comic timing and always have great chemistry with Conan.
He could just voice a character with his actual voice
In the first couple seasons you can tell some of the "extras" in the episodes were the natural versions of the actors voices
He does lol he does Mayor Quimby
His normal voice is killing me, it sounds very familiar like another character on the show and I can't think of who!!! 😳
@@danielleking262 it’s mayor quimby
@@joshfeeney6197 Almost! He changes it a little bit. I know he's supposed to be based off of JFK
Wow Conan is insanely talented! Didn’t know he wrote one of my favorite Simpsons episodes! We a stan a Harvard king
His everyday voice is Human Fly who stayed up all night, dyeing his underwear. Amazing.
How can this be so fucking accurate? Laughing my ass off
Human fly's voice is a bit higher.
Ahahaha
One of the folks on one of the DVD commentaries pointed out that Bill & Marty from KBBL are essentially Dan and Harry doing their real voices.
I’d wish more voice actors were invited to talk shows. I’ve been rewatching this video several times already! Always gives me a smile. Thank you Dan for entertaining us (probability all millennials onwards) throughout all these years! 👏👏
I swear his voice is being dubbed. I couldn't believe he did Krusty
It makes sense since originally Homer was supposed to be Krusty.
Dan looks like a nobody yet he is one of the greatest people ever.
Thats why the looks are not important
Well that’s a bit rude
Looks like Mr. Burns...younger brother
He looks like Homer.
i disagree. think he has stunning sharp eyes.
The facial expressions he makes when he does his voices reminds me a lot of George Carlin.
Hmmm
th-cam.com/video/K3-A-qeExXo/w-d-xo.html This is amazing
I think something else reminds you of George Carlin. The head, may be...
Damn. You’re right... it’s the way his mouth goes to the side. I know what you mean.

The guy has a world inside, you never know who will come out next time he open his mouth. such an incredible thing to actually see these voice actors doing their stuff.
He can do so many different voices SOOO talented and clever
This made me so happy.
I first saw him acting in "Yes, Dear" as a crazy neighbour. Had no idea he was the man behind the voices at the time hahaha
For me it was when he was the dean of the private school Ari's daughter went to in "Entourage"
Hahaha
For me, it was when he and Patricia Heaton played a couple with good seats at a Suns-Knicks game in the movie Space Jam.
Dan is such a great guy, and I'm glad Conan got to interview him all those years ago to create such a great collection of silly voices to listen and laugh at.
"I learned an important lesson today, Marge. It's better to watch stuff than to do stuff".
Easy to forget that he can also sing in those voices, too! He (and the rest of the cast) are voice-acting legends and rightly so.
Love how everyone lost their minds at 3:02 when he switched to the lower octave and did the “drooling over donuts” sound. Brilliant
Someone should animate this interview, replacing Dan's head to the characters heads that he's voicing. I would love to see Conan reappear as himself on The Simpsons with the updated animation design. His previous look on the show wasn't as detailed as it could had been.
deep fake.
@@uake with AI voice. Similar in style of Juiceone.
I think that would be great, but the new animation style is something I really disagree with. The older animation had so much more to offer, characters were real, animated characters rather than crisp, clean, soulless cardboard cutouts. The Simpsons only ever had one true art style.
That's what imagination is for
Nah, keep the original animation style. The Simpsons just looks odd in HD.
Between them, these two guys contributed so much to one of the greatest shows of all time. Both very humble!
If you crossed paths with him you'd never know you were among a legend!
Never knew this guy was Homer Simpson, have seen him in many movies and series. Good job man!!
It's so weird how clear he makes the voice come out like it sounds like it's coming from like a tv speaker as I'm watching the Simpsons lol. Especially for an old episode it's even weirder . But damn this guy is a legend . Loved every charector he voiced . Like a 90s Mel Blanc
Always good to come and watch this again after a rough day, just puts smile on your face no mater how hard the times!
Omg 😆 this guy is incredible doing the voices he’s always done on the Simpsons. I’ll forever be a fan of this wonderful cartoon . I was just a little kid when it was on television too. The voice actors / actresses are great to hear too
omg it's so uncanny to see their iconic voices come out of this one man!!! 😂🤯
Wow, when he makes those voices, his face immediately turns into them
Conan was also a producer and writer in Simpsons and the monorail episode was written by him
one of the best.
no shit sherlock.
To this day, I have no idea how voicing Krusty the Clown did not impact or hurt his throat, especially after voicing him for 34 years. He has such a deep voice with the Krusty character. But he does a good job with it.
Conan is living art here with the 'I didn't do it' episode.
