Custom Carbon GT vs Go Kart

- At Evolve we like pushing the boundaries and seeing what we can do with our electric skateboards. With this in mind we went about creating a custom Carbon GT and put it to the test against a GT5 SODI Go Kart!
This little video covers the highlights of a great day on the track, including the 220m sprint race between the custom Carbon GT and the Go Kart. We chose this distance as it was a good balance between acceleration (board) and top speed (go kart) to make it a closer race!
This custom Race Series Carbon GT pushes the boundaries of what our electric skateboards can do with some mods. With 2 x 1500W motors with customised controller and battery settings, Evolve GT race wheels and specially adjusted trucks, this thing really does fly and it is extremely stable riding at 70km/hr!
This custom GT isn't available publicly buuuuutt we do have something in a custom flavour coming up that we think you will really enjoy, so stay tuned :-)
Importantly - DO NOT try any of this yourself. This was done by and under the supervision of professionals.

valetdabess I'd love to be able to hit 50-55kmh on the 97mm wheels. I feel like that's the sweet spot for this board

My favourite Evolve videos are the ones that compare the options (e.g.: roll distance/push ease of different wheels), the offroad and sliding tricks vids, this go-kart video, the secret new racing board, the board customisations videos and the group ride vids. All good stuff.

Hey guys, you're the best! I would also like to have a distributor in Turkey. As a snowboarder, I want to try GT in the summer time on the ski slopes. But due to customs legislation, it is very cumbersome and complicated for a consumer to bring the product individually. I look forward to seeing your products in Turkey.

Hi Gary. You can't buy this board specifically, its a little too powerful. Im not sure if you saw the ambulance in the background of the video! We do however have something in the custom flavour available soon. We have been throwing around a few ideas for names. Its a Custom Racing Series Carbon GT, so CRSCGT is a bit too much probably :-)
Evolve Skateboards I'm a founder at graphic design studio and have done quite a few naming projects. CRSCGT is bit much. Custom racing series is nice, like it. GTX is better IMHO - shorter and communicates the same thing. When is the custom going to be available, would get it in an instant.

You should use the boards with four motors shown in your other video.
The 4wd boards are built for INSANE acceleration, but dont have a top speed that the board in this video has.
Can you make it do the same top speed?
I've been on the fence for a while on buying an Evolve board for the sole purpose that I'm nervous as to whether or not this will have the acceleration and top speed I'm looking for, especially after looking into Enertions Raptor 2. However, if a future release of an evolve board includes an increase in top speed while retaining its ride length, this is something I'd pick up in a heartbeat.
Came here from the reddit which posited this as a "high performance go kart", race it against a proper kart (KZ2 or equiv - 42hp) and see how you do then. Those things outpace Ferraris
Hi SlaveToTheBeard. Yes, I wouldn't say this is a high performance kart. We just wanted something comparable to make the speed trial more fun. Don't the KZ2s do 0-100 in like 3 seconds? I think the only way we will ever go as fast as a KZ2 is if we strap a board to the side of one :-)
Appreciate the response, Evolve Skateboards. Don't get me wrong I still enjoyed the video, it highlighted well the benefits of electric motors and much lower weight in a test of acceleration. It just irks me when people lump rental karts in with real karts which, as you know, have far greater performance.

great video ! get a TSG PASS to replace the RUROC; these RUROC are not designed to protect if you fall on the mouth. There mouth gard is just rubbish; and not certified.
How hard is it to get modifications done your self ? And how hard wearing will it be on the board eg motors and battery ?

I’m looking to buy a board in the near future. Did you guys fix the “wheels locking while going full speed” issue? Why would a board ever lock due to remote disconnection? Where is the safety in that..

What motors are you using
Dual 1500 watt (3000 watt total) high performance custom made brushless out-runner motors.
Deck configuration wrong. Silly going that fast. Motors too exposed. Zero styling All statue riding
Someone needs to hack the board and share to us the new firmware to update the Carbon GT board, so it's even faster :)
this just makes me scared a new board will be released months after forking out all the cash for my bamboo gt lol
Evolve needs too make an electric scooter, Like a Rion hyperscooter, I wants too buy one of these boards, But you come off at high speed an it going too suck, safety gear on, It will still suck, I come of my scooter at 30 mph, Body armour an helmet saved my arse, But still even tho I am pretty good on a pair of skates, A board is not a pair of skates, Plus i loves travelling on my scooter, Getting ready too go out for a little hour on it in a bit, Few thing's too get at same time, It does something too the head when you can travel freely on a scooter, I suffer with mental health form PTSD, An since i have had my e-scooter, I don't fear going out as much, Everyone should get some form of PEV transport, Take you back to your teen days, lol...............

P Y Z I U M Its carbon fiber. They also have no competition, so they could realistically price it $500 higher and the same people would buy it. Personally I think the $2000 price tag is more than justified as mine works flawlessly. I'd just like a slight speed increase.

Spot on Lauwe! This is a one off prototype board Jeff designed. Similar to a car manufacturer, prototypes are designed to give the direction for future products. This is great, as it shows we can go faster but our interest are in the safety of our customers. Love the compassion you showed for our customers :) you are a fantastic evolve advocate!
The real thinker, evolve board is. It cares about the safety unlike Enertion boards :-)
And by the way my standard GT Carbon smoked a golf gti off the lights in traffic for the first 6 to 8 meters 0 to 35 kph in under 2 seconds maybe under 1 fighting to keep your front foot on the board BUT I want more I WANT 55 kph 50 km range
