The second I saw the NeoGeo I started to bounce in my chair like an excited child. The level of nostalgia this brings... I could watch stuff like this all day. Realizing just how much I love the out of ring personalities of guys who I love to watch in the ring is amazing.
I still have a Neo•Geo! The sheer will and ambition I had to purchase a Neo Geo, and the games, back in the day (mowing lawn’s, painting, cleanup’s etc.) was unparalleled. If I could have diverted some of that energy into college or a career, I would have been a king by now.
To be technical. Old programmers make visual tricks on old consoles like make a mesh pattern of two colors. Old TV tend to be not that clear picture quality the mesh pattern will look like a third color instead.

I'm impressed. I didn't expect to see the love for the Neo•Geo. Also, you didn't have to be rich to buy a Neo•Geo Gold System (AES) at launch. I was 17 at the time (in 1990), and after seeing it in the April 1990 issue of EGM, I knew I needed it, so I started saving my money. My older brother and I started a snow removal business and I not only made enough to get the Gold System in December 1990, but also several of the games. This was in addition to keeping up with NES, SMS, and Genesis games. Work hard, play hard. :)
In December 1990 it was $399 for the Silver System (1 arcade stick, no game), and $550 for the Gold System (2 sticks, 1 game, with a choice between Baseball Stars Pro and NAM-1975).

Hello A.J I have a bit of information on the Treamcast that you own. It's actually a Chinese bootleg console that surfaced after the Dreamcast's official discontinuation in 2002. The Treamcast is a very sought system by Dreamcast collector's and can go for prices upwards of $1,000 on eBay. Just as a slight heads up the Treamcast is prone to disc read failure. Also the controller is clicky and thumbstickless because it mimics the ASCII pad which was a 3rd party controller released only in Japan.
Austin would have a ball just in the Akihabera game shops alone, not counting all the major and hidden gem arcades around the country (thank you Game Center CX for making my jealous of Japanese arcade culture)

Neo Geo makes some of the best games, but their console is ridiculously expensive, no one can afford it. People just play them in the arcades.
