    I know you likely won't see this but- I was an Academic Advisor at two major universities, so I know what I'm talking about. Having cancer is, 100%, a reason for Jess to have this semester either removed from her record, her grades changed to Pass/Fail ( so it won't affect her GPA), or an one of a bunch of other scenarios that will help her, retroactively, at ANY college. If she hasn't already, she needs to get in touch with the Dean responsible for her major and see what they can offer her.

    SANDI-your methods to warm lambs with a water bucket taught me that I could save baby chicks on my farm when they were hypothermic. Just the other day I had one fall out of the nest as it hatched, and I found it, barely alive and still wet from the humidity inside of the egg. I brought it inside and used warm water and a plastic sandwich bag. Your methods not only save the lives of sheep, but baby chicks too! Poultry farmers like me are eternally grateful for the knowledge you provide in these videos. THANK YOU.
    -Elissa, sending ❤ and well wishes to your daughter from Washington State. I’m her age and I can’t imagine what your family is going through right now.

      Elissa, thank you for your post! It brings tears to my eyes. I have been recommending Sandi and Mark to others, especially those just starting out. They are wonderful teachers and mentors. Others can learn from her, it doesn't have to do with only sheep! Like treating the belly button so it isn't laying in filth. Especially since Momma's like to dig and get right down into that manure! The heat, maybe? I love seeing her treating those belly buttons to ward off joint ill and OTHER problems, immediately, and moving them to freshly bedded pens. Mark explains the how, when and why of spreading manure. Rotating crops, Cover crops, what to grow and when. He isn't afraid to share his knowledge.
      I love that they are not "factory farmers" that don't give a damn about the health or comfort of their animals. It warms my heart to see the love & compassion. That she shares the joys, struggles, and heartbreaks. The reality of the circle of life.

      I've done this in the past. The last time was when I found a dead, ice cold, day old house sparrow that had been pushed out of the nest and it was laying on my barn floor. I picked up the cold, pink body to throw it into the paddock so I wouldn't step on it, and as I carried it, the little thing slowly opened and closed it's mouth. Amazed, I quickly ran it into the house, put the body under warm tap water, put it into a box with hot water in bottles wrapped in towels, fed it 36 times a day and now she is 5 years old and has free flight of the house! Sweetie Pie has quite the personality, angrily squawking and pecking at her perch if grumpy early in the morning, quietly whistling when happy to see me, frantically chirping if I use hair spray, she hates the color red, rolls her body in my hair when she wants a bath, hates bare feet and pecks my toes until they hurt and I put socks on, loves lettuce and millet. Just love her!

      Excellent point, Sarah. It is becoming unfathomable for farmers in the US. My mom's family were rural farmers and had to 'share crop' during the depression years just to survive. As a matter of fact, many still live on dirt roads to this day. However, most of the land has been sold because of the astronomically high price of farming. Unfortunately, many people don't realize or even stop and think about where your food comes from. What a shame. We should appreciate and tell them thank you. It's a hard job, but we would starve without them! Hugs from Alabama ❤️

    JESS! 😂 Sorry, my inner dog-trainer pops out randomly. If you want Piper to learn solid foundation behaviors like “Sit”, you need to reward THAT behavior (at least praise, if you aren’t carrying kibble or treats), BEFORE asking for (or allowing) additional behaviors (like stand up/dance).
    Puppies minds are like sponges at this age. A little consistency and clear command/rewards and you’re going to have such a nice dog there! ❤ She obviously wants to please. What a cutie.

    • @kerseykrewzoo
      @kerseykrewzoo ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Isn't it helpful to have specific hand commands for each behavior as well? I know dogs can get confused by verbal commands at times but if you pair a verbal command with a unique hand signal for each behavior, it seems to help them learn more quickly and get confused/overwhelmed less. I believe that's what it said when I researched it anyway. 🤷🏻‍♀️

      @@mornaslocum8376 They kicked your dog hard enough to cause it to go deaf?! Wth is wrong with people?! I'm so glad your dog is okay except for the deafness. Hand signals, in my honest opinion, help an animal to visually understand what may be a bit confusing to them verbally. I try to combine both, that way if my hands aren't free, my voice is and if I need to be quiet, I have the hand signals to fall back on. So far, it's working well. I own snakes and lizards that I'm target training and that visual cue is ultra-important with them to be successful.

      Keep trying and follow her on Instagram. You have better luck, i managed to get some by staring at my phone on her shop page counting down the seconds. Her wool goes super quick! I got natural one time and pink another. It is definitely worth the trouble and don't be surprised of you can only get a bulkier yarn. The tighter strands are so rare to get.

      A slightly customizable sheep kit would be awesome - a little wood or wire frame and two colors of wool to felt around it, and people could make specific sheep or fantasy sheep. (Personally I'd make a blue sheep with white face and legs, and maybe add some little white felt wings. 😊

    Love to hear wool is coming this fall. I have a much-treasured skein of plane wool (not colored) from one of the first times you had wool for sale that I love. You can see little bits of stuff that stayed in the wool when it was processed which makes it all the more special. Knowing the stories of the sheep that it comes from makes it all the more special to me.
