    In 08 Ford dropped all the Rangers 2”, even the 4x4s, for better airflow, handling, economy…. Nothing changed other than the torsion keys, same upper and lower A-arms, brake line, shocks… so cranking 2” just puts the truck back to how to how it was prior to 08. I have a 2010, XLT, 4x4 and swapped in a set of keys from an 04. That was years ago with no problems. My cv joints are at 12 degrees, they’re designed to 30 degrees max. Crank away!

    98 F150 Owner - I did a RC torsion key lift with N3 lift shocks. I'm super happy with the lift, the drive feel, and the install process.
    Just ABSOLUTELY rent the torsion loading tool from your local parts store, I tried to install the lift key with a couple heavy duty C clamps and wasted a lot of time and energy there.
    I did the same as you - skipped the block lift on the rear, and only put a little tension on the torsion key bolt.
    Ill add a spring to the rear down the road to get it perfectly leveled.
    And thanks for reminding me to get the sucker aligned...

    I have a 2011 ford ranger fx4 off road, that I turned onto an overlander. But before hand, It use to ride rough as a torsion suspension. I got real tired of it being noisy in the cab while at times hitting bumps. So this is why I went for a solid front axle swap & rear leaf spring delete for a replicated 09 jk jeep rear link suspension, while still maintaining my gas tank.

    I’m torn on this video.
    Your Ranger looks great and is super clean. It’s very tastefully done and looks much better than stock. However, your ”truths” about the torsion lift riding so rough are completely self inflicted.
    1. You could have saved $ adjusting the stock torsion key bolts to level the truck. 3 full turns would have leveled it.
    2. You said that the front is higher than the rear. Lower the front to level the truck and that will take some tension off those bars…creating a softer ride.
    3. The shock length is too short. Stock front Ranger shocks extend out at a max of right at 18”. A stock height Ranger has a static front shock length of about 15.75”. This gives about 2.25" downward travel. Sitting with the front level (or slightly high), the required static length is about 17.75”. You said the shocks overextend and cant down travel, get the necessary longer shocks. The Rancho RX5000 Part# RS55374 are built for this and retain stock ride quality. They have an extended length of 19.25” so they provided both the up and down travel needed for the increased height adjustment.
    4. Camber bolts. Easy to install and infinite alignment options. Negative camber is a known issue on these Rangers...especially when they are raised. The upper and lower balljoints get stressed easily with poor alignment. The lowers on yours look flexed pretty hard as the top of the spindles are leaned in. Correcting the camber to a near zero setting will allow for less stress on the balljoints and more general movement. This would also result in better ride quality as less parts would be binding.
    As said, the truck looks great but is it really fair to say “torsion lifts ride rough” when you haven’t done a complete job? I have a similar setup on my '98 and it rides as good as it did stock.

    • @DarinDzy
      @DarinDzy  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I maxed out my stocks keys and it still had a rake. I kinda like that the front is a tad bit taller than the rear ( not squatted but a little lean). If I use longer shocks, it runs the risk of too much droop which could potentially snap your CV axle. I've also had the camber bolts sitting in the garage for months. Just never got around to installing em. Appreciate it!
