I want to say something important People these days think that all the music videos are about dance, ass, money etc This video have a tons of symbolisms About the plot here, the messages and the meaning Most reaction only say "wow nice outfit" This video from start to end have messages about life, death, dreams and how can we come to life again after an accident Lady gaga is mega genius
Just realized the paramedic coming from the top with the umbrella could be the helicopter, he's twisting the umbrella while coming down from the sky like the copter coming top the scene.
It couldn't be it actually is, everything on the accident scene is what we are seeing on the video, even the same characters on both reality and the dream, it is a brain phenomenon on traumatic experiences like the one described on the end scene, our brains tend to keep the last images of what we saw to retain it or in some cases under abuse of drugs or medical treatments to esquisophrenia the brain recreates an entire world with that images, speaking to Gaga it represents some hard moments of Stephanie's life, represented by symbolic characters and she recreate a world with that figurative images for us to understand her.. it is freaking genius, really advanced psicology on a really cool video.
EXPLAINED: She didn't have her pills (antipsychotics) and her thoughts told her to bike into traffic (Lyrics: "Keep repeating self-hating phrases, almost like I have no choice"). She bikes into traffic and causes an accident where other people get hurt (as well as herself). In the afterlife, she is brought back by the paramedics (the man who pulls her down before letting her assent into heaven). Upon awakening she repeatedly apologizes for what happened and reveals that she did not have her pills to keep the thoughts away. Based on her post on Instagram, this represents a lived reality of battling thoughts that tell you to harm yourself. Evidently, there is a lot of biblical imagery going on as well, including reference to two Armenian films, but the crux of the narrative is that of attempted suicide.
I was here last year, I was riding my bike and having an emotional breakdown and sped up faster towards oncoming traffic, but at the last minute slammed my breaks and stop just before a car. The person stopped and asked if I was ok and I was just crying and cycled off... irs amazing what the mind tells us and what we choose to listen to... this video is a powerful way of looking at what trauma can do to the mind. I love it
When I first watched this, I was like “what the hell am I witnessing here” but then the end... this is pure art. This cinematography deserves an award. The beauty of the colors, the Mexican/southwest vibe, Gaga’s outfits- all had a very Frida Kahlo feel. Even reminds me of Frida’s artwork. Very surreal. Gaga looks absolutely gorgeous. I also think since Chromatica III plays at the end, and she’s in this life-and-death situation, that this could be a perfect setup for Sine From Above... LOVES IT!!!! 😍✌🏻💜
Pandora Fox we talk about inspiration for Lady Gaga's video clip is the film of Armenian filmmaker Sergei Parajanov, Pomegranate Color... not about where did a film...
@@MultiAni08 There are still elements of both. It can be both. Ultimately, who cares? It's a brilliant video. You get what you want out of it. I'm entitled to my opinion.
The shooters of Columbine High School scribbled in notepads about crashing planes into the Twin Towers? Why? Because they were channels for demonic plans. Lady Gaga, just like Queen (where she derived her name), is in touch with the same spirits. She's on the dark end of bible prophecy; no bueno. th-cam.com/video/KemjvWp_2T4/w-d-xo.html #purpleandscarlett #dragonbeastfalseprophet
The references in the video is from the avant-garde film of Director Sergei Parajanov "The Color of Pomegranates 1969" im sure with it because there was a poster of the film on the last part. For the intro in the dunes maybe its from the Western/Acid Western Film Alejandro Jodorowsky´s El Topo 1970. And some beautiful vivid colors of direector Tarsem Singh (look for the film The Fall 2006 and The Cell 2000).
This song is actually about an antipsychotic medication named olanzapine that saved her life (my biggest enemy is me, pop a 911) when she was rushed to the E.R due to a psychotic break in relation to mental illness. The same thing happened to me and I had to be put on the same exact medication, she stated how her whole body went numb, she could do nothing but scream, it’s terrifying and nobody should ever have to experience a psychotic break, it is absolutely horrifying and indescribable when you’re completely ripped from reality, feeling like you’re trapped in an endless void, you feel like everything is out to hurt or kill you, becoming completely and absolutely emotionally blunted unable to express any feelings, completely dissociated from reality, unable to come to terms with anything around you, completely lost. There is truly nothing more traumatic than a psychotic break. Recovery time is different for everyone, it can take as little as 1 week to over a year. I am just happy I survived and am still alive to inform people and share my experience about this grave and perilous state of mind, to let people know how crucial mental health actually is.
The video is inspired by an 🇦🇲Armenian film called The Color of Pomegranates by Parajanov. 👏🏻 Gaga knows the ART 😍❤ as an Armenian this made me soo happy
the clip was filmed based on a film " the colour of Pomegranates" a very famouse armenian movie which had a big inpact on cinema worldwide.in the third minute of the clip, an Armenian inscription can be seen in the background "Զգուշություն" it means caution. at the beginning of the clip you can see pomegranates, the movie poster is shown at the end of the clip.
You weren't not attentive. They were not apples. It's a pomegranate, which is Armenian national symbol. All the fashion ideas is inspired by Sergey Parajanov, an outstanding armenian film artist. The whole video is based on his film called "The color of pomegranate". Throughout the video I even saw a tattoo on her left arm with armenian script, and somewhere on background armenian word, at the end on the sign "Armenian film festival". I appreciate a lot her work. Thanks.
Gaga shows us that anyone can have mental health and anyone can feel like life isn’t worth living. I’ve been there and almost taken my own life all because I was done with breathing. I would have been a year and 4 months dead but instead I am here, living and breathing, and seeing this work of art that Gaga created. Life’s good❤️
Virgil is guiding her through Purgatory. When she is about to ascend to heaven, she is essentially brought back to life when the guy is holding her foot with the rope. It is very beautiful and poetic.
I needed this so bad! My suicidal thoughts my anxiety and how I come to life with my pills. I know many people don't understand me. Thank you Lady Gaga for this video. I feel you girl.
Armenia (One of the first Christian civilizations on the Earth) between Lady Gaga's health issues. All detailed, all Superb and Stunning! ❤️😪 God is a Woman? Yes Ariana, God is Gaga!
That moment where she drifts up on the rope - is her life draining away, but then the nurse pulls her back to earth - as she hits the ground again there’s a split second of her opening her eyes at the crash scene. Omg so much thoughts gone into it
so excited to find more canadians on youtube!! i really like your energy and positivity! i found a lot of the video referenced not only the film the colour of pomegrantes (which u can see the poster in the video) but also a lot of Armenian art and architecture as well as director jodorowsky's films specifically el topo (yes, Dune's jodorowsky haha) probably the best lady gaga video ever... maybe best music video ever in general lol if you like the aesthetic of this video you might like Get Well Soon's music video "Roland I feel you" it's an excellent watch
I really like the song because I know is difficult to talk about no typical issues we have like mental issues and about the music video, she did a great job and we like it or not everyone in our mind tries to "cover" fears and traumas as self-defense would be in a story or with fantasies. Definately a true facts.
When she walks passed the peacock - there’s some blue streamers going into the air to symbolise the burst water hydrant - it’s all in there - unreal. I am trying to work out the peacock on the wall tho
Do you know she used Sergei Parajanov’s technics? The guy was a director and screenplay writer of Armenian Origins created the movie Color of Pomegranates in 1969. Check it out ;)
Also, I think her green look with that halo around her face made me think she was dying and the paramedic guy pulled her back down with the rope which I suppose symbolises him bring her back
I noticed at the end that the guy with his head on the steering wheel is actually covered with the silver thermal blanket used by First Responders to keep accident victims warm and from going into shock. So that guy still alive and I think he's just stuck in the car which is why we see the firefighters taking the door off so they can get him out. When the paramedics show up they go to the other two people first and see how bad off they are and then go check on others. If they were doing triage. I also noticed when we first see the woman cradling the body in the video she is glaring at Gaga which I think means that she saw what happened and knows Gaga is to "blame."
It has left me speechless, it could be revealing and I reflect that they are really the consequences of trauma however small or large it is, I like how it makes the viewer not know what it is until everything makes sense in the end, I can intuit how a trauma can really be described, the person censors it for being too strong for his mind and changes it for a less painful story to survive. It's amazing. She really and her team are amazing.
I think the rope on her leg is like the paramedics bringing her back to life from dead, you can see a very quick clip where she woke up after she fell because the paramedics pull her down and bringing her back to life again. i love the video so much♥️, there's alot of details 😍
I believe this was inspired by the 1987 film Aria...Ken Russell's interpretation of Nessun Dorma from Pucinni's opera,Turandot. The film is a compilation of well known arias interpreted by well known directors of the period. Russell's contribution is one of my favorites from this beautiful film.
Anyone else catch her face on the stretcher in real life between 2:16 and 2:17? The rope pull is the first attempt with the AED to revive her! It happens so so fast, it's even fast to see if you speed the video down to 0.25X
It has almost certainly already been mentioned, but: In America, "911" is the phone number to call for the emergency services dispatcher-police/ambulance/firefighters.
Entire video explanation 1) Black Horseman in a White Desert - This signifies the poster for New Mexico Gaga saw before the accident. He may also signify Death or her body luring her deeper in her mind. 2) The Red Mask - This is the blood from the accident. 3) Bike with Pomegranates - The first real element in Gaga's vision. Most probably the victim of the collision. Pomegranates simultaneously signify life and death. 4) The Red Anklet - Gaga's broken foot in real life. 5) Walking to the White Chapel - This is the movie poster Gaga saw. This can also signify the deepest recesses of her mind, protecting her from trauma. 6) Pillow Man - Another victim of the accident who crashed on his steering wheel. 7) Black Girl in Blue - The first spectator to the accident. Most likely the one who called 911. 8) Two Yellow Men Holding a Door - These are two firemen holding the car door to get Gaga out of the mangled vehicle. Their hats have '911' written on them in roman numerals. The yellow men were blindfolded because the firemen wore black goggles. 9) Woman Holding a White Body - A woman holding a victim who got hit by the car. The white body even has red lace signifying blood. 10) Additional Three People in Blue - Additional spectators filming the whole thing. 11) Yellow Man Mixing a Cauldron - This is a fireman and a smoking car wreckage. 12) The Latin Guy in Black and the Black Mary in White - These are the paramedics trying to save Gaga's life. 13) The Spinning Umbrella - The paramedics descending via a helicopter. 14) The Purse with the Picture of the Doll - This signifies the pills that would have made her stable. Did she cause the accident? 15) The Latin Guy Strangling the White Mummy - The paramedic was checking for a pulse. 16) The Black Mary Covering the Pillow Man with a Sheet - This was the paramedic covering the victim with a thermal blanket. 17) A Man with Dog Ears whose Face is Being Covered by the Latin Man - The paramedic giving oxygen to one of the victims. 18) The Black Mary Flashing a Mirror on Gaga - The paramedic was flashing her flashlight on Gaga's pupil's looking for consciousness. Gaga in the dreamscape is her consciousness. 19) Gaga Floating Away with a Rose - This signifies Gaga's consciousness/life leaving her body. She was even wearing a halo. 20) The Latin Guy Pulling Her with a Rope - The paramedic gave her CPR. You can even see a brief flash of the real world as she comes crashing down. 21) The Rope - It was the tourniquet used on Gaga's foot. 22) Latin and Gaga Mouth-to-Mouth Action - This was CPR, mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. 23) Yellow Man on Ladder Sprinkling Rose Petals - This is a fireman repairing the movie sign. The petals were sparks. 24) Men in Blue Masks - These are policemen. They even have the bird sign in their hats. 25) The Blue Streamers Waving in the Wind - This was the fire hydrant spewing water. 26) The Peacock - This represented Armenia in the Armenian Film Festival signage. 27) The Black Mary Holding a Snake - This is the snake in the cross logo of the paramedics. 28) Gaga in Yellow Spasming - This is Gaga's body rejecting the medication/treatment. 29) The Mural - This was the scene of what really happened. Gaga is now getting closer to surfacing to reality. 30) The Latin Guy Touching Her Heart Area - The paramedic giving her heart pumps and CPR. 31) Gaga in Black Floral Outfit - This is Gaga being put in a full-body brace. The curtain also might have fallen in the background to signify her impending death, the body bag. This is why, as a last-ditch effort, the paramedics used the defibrillator. 32) The Box - This is the defibrillator. 33) The Virgin Sacrifice - As dream world and real world collide, the vision concludes in a terrifying sacrificial scene as the pain comes rushing in. It's interesting that the knife that kills her in the dream world is the current of electricity that brings her to life in the real world. 34) 'I didn't have my pills!' - This suggests that she caused the accident because she wasn't stable because she did not have her medication. 35) LG Advertisement - 'Life is good.' Ironic, isn't it?
This song is about her healt and how she had it. You saw that crazy looking person in the entrance of the building, I think he symbols how she felt inside her self

Anyone else catch her face on the stretcher in real life between 2:16 and 2:17? The rope pull is the first attempt with the AED to revive her! It happens so so fast, it's even fast to see if you speed the video down to 0.25X

It has almost certainly already been mentioned, but:
In America, "911" is the phone number to call for the emergency services dispatcher-police/ambulance/firefighters.
Entire video explanation
1) Black Horseman in a White Desert - This signifies the poster for New Mexico Gaga saw before the accident.
