I remember playing Superman 64 as a kid. My dad told me to fly through the rings, but my wee lad self said, “hell nah”. I just flew around until the time limit ran out. I did that for a week before returning it to Blockbuster. Who knew I missed out on such a gem of game.
yeah i remember playing that game and loving it. i couldn't get enough rings. it was like, "oh man, where those rings at?". it was so cool seeing my hero, superman, fly through all those rings, while i controlled him none the less. what is cooler than rings and superman? nothing. i wish that game get a remake and can fly more rings again. THOSE were the days.
I'm actually pretty glad that Daikatana exists. It serves as an example of what not to do, or rather to demonstrate the importance of game design and playtesting over... Whatever it was that Romero did. Anachronox, Deus Ex, and Thief were absolutely superb. Some of the finest games of their time. My point is that maybe failing with Daikatana was maybe the wake-up call they needed to make good games.
Amazing list like always. Although I'm mildly surprised that none of the Zelda CDI games made the cut, considering that a good chunk of the fanbase seems to wish those games didn't exist.

The most hilarious thing about Superman 64 is that while Brainiac is the final boss of the game, he has no AI. You heard that right, Brainiac is literally brainless in Superman 64.
Big Rigs, yes probably. The others not so much. Crackdown 3 was just a bad crackdown game because it was just more of the same but not even as good as the others, so not "Bad" from a gameplay standpoint, but bad as a game as a whole. Anthem had fun gameplay and an interesting story, but no depth, substance, or anything that made you want to keep playing after you beat the story. Fallout 76 is in the exact same boat as Anthem to a near comical level. So no, these games weren't great, but they were far far from the worst. What I personally don't understand however, is how they can make a list where their #1 is an honorable mention at best, but not even remotely include the atrocity that was Day 1: Garry's Incident, and everything that came about because of that.
@@MRInvidian661 Personally Anthem deserves a spot because the story, characters and world were all extremely dull and the game was so buggy you couldn't enjoy the gameplay. Also because it's been a year and a half and they've pretty much abandoned it. The game was basically a scam. At least fallout 76 still gets updates and expansions.
Not saying this is a great idea but it has crossed my mind a few times. Konami should have just made MG Survive into a BR. The game had all the elements that could have made a cool BR including a dust storm that could have moved in.
I know this will earn a lot of controversy, but I actually really enjoyed The Walking Dead: Survival Instincts. It felt like an oldschool first person horror game, it had plenty of good jump scares and used great use of time activated challenges that felt very much like the show. Plus, when you think about the fact that you're playing as Daryl and many of the skills he uses in game are how he survives so long in the show is perfect. Plus the first 5 mins when you're playing as an unnamed Dixon who is overcomed and eaten by zombies, only for moments later to find out it was Daryl's dad was an incredible start. Now start the hate comments😁
Minor correction. Games went from shallow, mindless time killers that weren't taken seriously, to wonderful pieces of story and art to be appreciated and thoroughly explored, and now have reverted right back to shallow mindless time killers but with the addition of heavy handed money grabbing bullshit, modern political movements, and unreliable releases and software that will always be broken and barely functional.
Money talks. So all you gotta do is convince everyone to stop buying those kinds of games and support the smaller games that are story driven, artistic and a joy to play. And when you're done with that, do the same with movies. Good luck 🤞

Everything you said is true, but that's exactly why I love these games because it also was fun for me, but also shows just how far we've come in the gaming world. Once you think about it like that they tend to be fun especially when you don't take them seriously.

I liked Metal Gear Survive! Of all things people complain about in it the part that was really bad about it was that you had to buy with real money additional character slots to be able to create enough food and water supplies to keep your survivors alive when you weren't playing.
I'm pretty sure that Ride To Hell: Retribution is the most remembered because occasionally someone would review it on TH-cam as a dead relic of the past, prompting a wave of purchases to laugh at how bad it is. Similar to the song Friday, it was hated so much, that it was visited out of spite, causing it to stay in pop culture far beyond it's welcome. And to prove my point, I half expect someone to look up Rebecca Black's Friday because it sounds familiar, regret it, and cause it to appear in everyone's recommended section.
This list can't be complete without... (gets to #10) Seriously? ONLY #10? What could be worse than... (gets to #9, #5, and especially #2) Okay. You win this round.
We used to have a copy of the E.T. game, I've actually beat the game before. Now Daikatana the best thing about it (IMO) was the "song" someone made for the characters sound clips it was stupid but better than the game itself. (the song was on a CD that came from a computer game magazine, I don't know where that disk went but that was the only reason I even kept that CD)
Don't forget the fact that Daikatana didn't allow you to use the titular weapon till the very end? Also, no mention of Turok Evolution? That game was a huge step back for the series that it never really recovered from!
I know Most people hated Diakatana, but I'm shocked that it made number 1 on this list. I had it on the 64 and they were some of my favorite moments of childhood gaming
