Actually both can come out in a few minutes without much work. The AC does require you to disconnect the steering linkage, but that's one bolt and takes about a minute. Alternator drops right out no problem.
@@BlakeMcBride that’s awesome! I really want to do this, I know where there’s a flood damaged DB9 Volante and I really would like exactly what you are building (not even sure I need the blower but it’s nice) and a 6-speed manual gearbox with the original brains, cruise control, etc. Thanks for doing this! If you have links for the people who did the custom stuff for you when you’re done I’d be appreciative!
I actually do almost all of my own work. The only custom work being done outside is: Shortening of the torque tube (RPM Transmissions in Anderson, IN, they should be easy to find) Custom half-shafts to adapt the GM inners to the Aston outers. I'm having a local shop do this, but there are tons of off-road shops that can handle that job. Other than that all of the welding, fab, wiring, etc. is me. If you have any specific questions, I'm happy to cover them in a video. I plan to make one explaining some of my approaches/logic to swaps like this to help others in the future as well. I've done around 30 swapped vehicles, mostly LS engines, but also 2JZ, Coyote, small block Chevy, etc. The concept and process is always the same though.
Good stuff!
So cool, I like the blower lid and the plate idea to confuse people.. seems like something you would def do haha.
Looks great!
How about a V12 Vantage Shifter or DBS shifter to keep the inside very original
Not against that, but I don’t like them enough to pay 1500 USD for a shift knob.
So how hard is it going to be to replace the alternator and compressor? other accessories? Drop the sub-frame assembly again?
