Cheers for the warm welcome back folks… here’s the link to the oil extractor pump as requested: amzn.to/42OU302
Changing the oil more regularly than the recommended JLR interval does far more good for long term reliability than worrying about the little oil left when using the suction method.
Ant, granted I did a 3.0Td6 L405... But in my test, the suction method pulls more than the drip.
18:18 365,748 km and still humming along sweetly. Awesome, Sam! I hope for the same with mine.
I spot a familiar sticker! Will be doing an oil change soon, going for 5w40 too, this time around.
Benefit of 5w40 over 5w30? I have a 1.6 hdi Peugeot engine and do my own oil changes usually with 5w30 so wondering is there a benefit to the 5w40? Also DPF and EGR removed so low saps shouldn’t matter to me
Great that you're back! Fingers crossed that garage comes through!
Welcome back sam 😄 been following your Chanel now since you got the l322 Im 5 Years in mine just 1 year before yours and wouldn’t part with it for anything best car I’ve ever owned anyway glad to see you back can’t get enough of the l322 content 🥳🥳🥳🥳🎉🎉
Great to see you back Sam.
Thanks Sam!
My first rangy was a p38 great car never let me down sadly got stolen
That's impressive, they're hard enough to get into and start even when you have the keys!!
And I would like to thank you for your videos aboul L322. Thanks to them we decided to switch from our Defender to Range Rover.
Glad to see the big 130 in the background. Can we have an update please? Great video as always
Using white vingar mixed to 3-1 using demineralized water. Cleaning Vineger is what I use in my car cleaning business when dealing with mold. The vinegar will burn and kill the mold.
@12:27 Love the 'torque' wrench! 🤣
It's great when used in conjunction with the Mk1 calibrated right arm!
Be interesting with the upcoming video you 17:57 hinted to about the scanners I purchased OTOFIX D1 Lite fantastic device more then I need for the fault reading of my 06 l322
Top video as always much appreciated the Sunday entertainment
Go for the Goodyear wrangler all terrain adventures. There well priced and have a 50,000 miles warranty
The key to reliable engine , is service intervals regularly than JLR say ,)))💪🇬🇧
@@Flyboy1066 Every 5K oil and filter.
Brilliant.. Keep the content coming..
2:16 the famous oil discussion. I'm considering between the standard Castrol Edge 5W30 C1, Valvoline Syn Power 5W30 (from LR TIme but this is not a low saps C1 or C4 grade) or the 5W40 oil you are using which is more thicker. Your 5W40 is a A3/B4 grade but I can't find if it is low saps. Anyway, nice to have a new update! By the way I sold my 2011 L322 TDV8 and bought a newer one, a 2017 SDV8 with Euro6 adblue one so now planning the oil change🙂 Wish you all the best from Holland!
The A3/B4 spec means high/normal SAPS, so not suitable for DPFs. Castrol does a 5w40 DPF oil now though.
@@SamsMotors Aha offcourse. You mean Castrol Magnatec 5W-40 DPF / C3 Mid Saps.
All the best Sam.
To reset the service interval message.
Open drivers door and bonnet, turn ignition on, don’t start car, push both pedals to the floor for 1 minute, turn ignition off, close bonnet and door, start car.
Just tried this as the £85 an hour garage I use couldn’t be arsed to reset it, it didn’t work for me sadly.
That's for later models, not the l322
hello sam i change the oil every 6,000 miles in my rr also i make a point of using genuine lr filters
cheap filters are BAD news.
as the saying goes the cheapest spare part for an engine is the oil.
nice to see you back.👍
Hey Sam, nice update. Still got mine, didn't get alot of interest. Running well, will.have had it 4yrs in May! My 5k oil interval coming up soon, do exactly as you do, although Sticking with 5w30, still got DPF.... Btw where did you get your foglights? Do they fit the existing foglight mounting points? All the best!
For mould you need vinegar. Bleach will whiten but not kill it.
Miss mine. Might go back to one but it would be a 5.0 Supercharged one ❤😊
Hey Sam, Get one of those large dehumidifier bags for your RTT. I had two, no condensation in my old iKamper. Take them out after 3 months, shove them in the microwave, adn they are reusable.
Great idea!
4 years eh...
Love your videos and the car. I also have one can I ask how you fitted the 9” lights. Are they bolted straight through the bumper ? Thank you
also, out of interest does your iid report your gearbox as a 6hp or 8hp? Mine reports as 6hp - and it’s definitely a 8hp - there’s a thread on pistonheads and someone else’s iid is reporting the box wrong too
I believe mine does report as a 6HP in certain places too. I think it’s just a naming error though rather than anything that would cause any issues…?
Mine says 6HP also.
I’d love one of these but I’d be terrified it’d let me down. And I’d be chasing a supercharged one which are thin on the ground in Ireland
Great info as per usual…. I run same car, (same mileage too). I got a set of same at3 tyres and ran them, till about half worn… but they started to perish prematurely. They were 2018 tyres, bought secondhand (2020). But like near new… last year they had visual cracking on both sides of the sidewalls all way to bead edges.. and tread edges were crumbling away, so much that you could tear off the rubber corners of the square edges with fingernail I’ve heard of other cooper tyres perishing too, the ones sounding like something like LT something… anyway, I got the news that they would not pass mot next year. So I found a set of Pirelli ATV’s again secondhand, and same year as this, but where from a demo car, from Mercedes Benz world. 275 50 20’s. Sound and feel silent, like the coopers. Bargain at £250 off good old eBay. Local pick up etc. hoping to go overlanding this summer when I retire, watch all your vids. Keep em coming! Also, I sourced a set of Pirelli scorpions all season as my typical road tyres on a second set of wheels, so I can preserve the deep Pirelli ATV’s treads I now keep for trips overlanding…. Those scorpions fit Bentley Bentagars, so come up every now and then.
And then you wanna take your torque wrench! 😂 very funny
Against mold cleaning vinigar usually works best
Yes it does, the stench afterwards isn't so nice though!
Trying to find the promised link to Andrew’s social media……….
Apologies - added to the description now - thanks for pointing that out!!
He lives
wish L322 was available in diesel in USA. my L322 gets 11MPG on regular gasoline and it kills what is otherwise a perfect car
10 Years to-day owning mine...The best vehicle I,ve ever owned bar none 87,205 miles don,t like the £710.00 year road tax ...thinking of a Defender?? Ish??
Čan I ask what oil are you using?
5w40 A3/B4
Can you give me an adress who can help me with my dpf - egr issue. Who did the software part? i Cant find one for my own car :)
why not just get underneath and drain the oil out?duh! l've always done this to all my cars including my beloved disco 1.
No drain plug on these. Suction pump is LR’s recommended method as explained in the video 😏
what about the turbo issue? a common problem with this engine. check out harryś garage with jeremy clarkson plus the comments. jeremys car 85k miles and 2 turboes with aroun 8K£ bill. harry's car 1 turbo changed w 135kmi and more in the comments. hugely expensive issue.
Wrong engine, that’s the 3.6 not the 4.4.
And it’s not that expensive to rectify really - I would change them myself and spend a few hundred on reconditioned turbo CHRAs and have them be as good as new 👍
