I think we have been lucky to grow up in this time. 70's and 80's in Australia, every pub had a small stage an a mike. There were hundreds of bands playing every weekend, slowly honing their craft. They got good ,or they got out! At some point in the 90's or later, pubs went away from live music and that "breeding ground", or "open practice opportunity" disappeared. There are still good bands, but the width and breadth of talent that came out of that era will never be matched. They are all getting old now and soon they will be gone. What a sad thought. Loving your channel Mike.... trust your audience, they will keep feeding you great music. Haven't seen BABY ANIMALS yet... something to look forward to.. and INXS. wow, so many to come...
I saw an interview with Barnsey and his wife Jane saying that during COVID lockdown they had around 40 crew, family and mates in the house locking down together and Jimmy and Jane are awesome cooks so everyone ate like a huge family and just made music and looked out for each other in the Barnes family bubble. Best lockdown house in Australia 🤘🇦🇺🍺🥩🎸🎤

At home with Jimmy. The whole family is so talented. Jimmy and Diesel are married to sisters, so we think of him as part of the family too. During Covid Jimmy churned out so much music from the homefront just to make us all feel a little bit happier. His wife Jane learned to play the guitar so that she could accompany him.
I love both artists, and own the album Johnny Diesel and the Injectors in 1989, which this song was on. I loved it. Played it a lot (along with Jimmy, cold Chisel and bands like Noiseworks, but nearly always, Jimmy). I used to drive my Dad to work so he’d listen too. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing them live. They are both extremely talented. Diesel is a great singer, and he can slay the guitar, and Jimmy, well he can sing with anyone. Jimmy has a hugely powerful voice, but he always is respectful when singing with others and knows how to blend in with others. His musicality is right up with the best of all time. Oh and he has been seen a few times with instruments like a guitar or even bagpipes or a tambourine… maybe you’ll see those one day on your journey. 🎉🎉
I've seen Diesel and Chris Wilson many times at pubs arround Melbourne , it's a chilled experience that I will always remember and talent that's next level . Always had me in awe . All these guys are like a fine wine that get better with age 👍 Great to see you delve into our Australian Talent . 🇦🇺
Diesel loves to do that even to his own songs. I saw him a few years ago and even all his own hits he changed up and played them that different they almost sounded like different songs which I actually don't really like. I know a lot would call that clever but I prefer to hear the songs the way I've always known and loved them.
Don't be too worried if you don't like something. That's bound to happen. Keep it real Mike, if you don't think it's fantastic, say so. In a respectful way, as you just did. You will hit 10k before you know it.

Diesel was actually born in the USA. You recently saw Diesel playing guitar on Jimmy's Driving Wheels video. Mike, after 40 odd years, i'm still waiting to be disappointed by Jimmy.

You can't go wrong with Mr Barnes😁Since he has aged a bit he seems to just sing for the joy of it and it comes across to the listener.
