    • @lennard9331
      @lennard9331 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +98

      House didn't punish anyone under him for failure or making mistakes like his father did. He was blunt and maybe offensive, but he did nothing more than hold someone accountable and let them know they need to do better. He didn't punish Thirteen when her oversight killed a man, he never punished Cameron for letting her emotions get the better of her and drove her to make mistakes. What he had in common with his father is that he strove for perfection in his job and held it above his own well being and what other people thought of him.

      @FelipeKana1 true, but if you've watched the first 2.5 seasons, the fact that most of what people at PPTH say about him is just a self projection of the disappointment at what they expect how he should act like a "normal person" and not actually about who he really is is a major theme of his relationships should be obvious.

      House wasn't a copy of his father but he was a "rhyme". Like in the sense of history doesn't repeat, it rhymes. The sons of abusive but strict men tend to be highly perfectionist and regulated themselves but despise it so don't exactly repeat it on to others.

    I saw a lot of comments about how they admire House and Wilson's friendship but overall, House is a bad friend. His only redeeming point was when he helped Wilson go through with the cancer battle but even that, he only did it because his friend is already at the end of the line which left him no choice but to get it together. If you remove the cancer part, he'll continue to treat his bestfriend like a doormat. Like, how many times does Wilson need to utter these words - "We're not friends anymore, House" and take him back again?
    Even if House was unapologetically honest and blunt to Wilson for his benefit and came in handy sometimes, there were still a lot of times that he went overboard for the sake of "testing" how far their friendship can go and put Wilson through in ridiculous situations.
    I bet if House was premiered today, it will garner a lot of criticism about romanticizing toxic friendships/relationships and honestly, it deserves to be criticized. You can't always use pain or misery as an excuse to hurt or inconvenience people. The only reason why he's getting away with it is because of his brilliance which feeds his ego more.
    I like the show to pieces but after a few reruns, I came to realized that there were a lot of elements that are truly problematic.

    At the end of this episode when Wilson decided to stay around the first thing house said to him was his father died I don't care what nobody says at the end of the day on some level all he wanted to do was tell his best friend that his father died and to go get drunk but his best friend was ignoring him.

  • @bookworm598

    While I don't think House should have to get up there and give a eulogy about his abuser, I think it was right for him to go to be there for his mom. Funerals are for the living and if he loves his mom he will be there for her because she's grieving even if he's not.

      @yasininn76 A funeral is for those who loved the deceased to remember and say goodbye. The funeral is about the deceased, but the reason it is held is for the living. A dead person doesn't care who attends their funeral or what is said, they're dead and gone.

    😂😂 If anyone ia wondering what House is doing at the end: Earlier in the series we hear that House suspected that his father might not be his father because of a malformation that he has on his toes that are supposedly a genetic marker for familial relationships. (Their toes didn't match).
    So House always suspected to himself that his mother cheated on his dad with the minister of the church.
    He always wanted to do a DNA test but he was too busy to ask his father for a DNA sample.
    Now he wanted to take a piece of his ear to do a DNA test...
    😂😂😂 House will always be House.

Why change the youtube video-time-dot’s color? “Change something small, and the comments will start rolling”

    I agree with Wilson on this one. Even though we might pretend to be above our primal emotions, like familial ties, we as humans crave reconciliation. Either everyone deserves forgiveness because we’re all human, or nobody deserves forgiveness. Because we’re all human.

    • @John231984
      @John231984 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      You are oversimplifying this. Yes, most humans (At least starting out) seek to bond with their parents. It's innate in nature.
      However, people can grow to hate or resent their parents to a degree where they don't care anymore. Part of them may still wish they could have had a solid relationship, but when some people are done they are just done.
      Additionally, it would depend on what the parent did. The whole "We all deserve or all don't deserve forgivness" isn't realistic.
      The degree of what was done to other people, and whether that person who caused the suffering even has any ability to emote at all, can play a factor.
      Not everyone deserves (nor does anybody have the right to) forgiveness. That is based upon each individual and each situation.
