The electric Candela with it's classic design and retractable foils for shallow waters fits me best for its pragmatic versitility. The rest seem to be more the typical exotic, ultra-limited production ego stroker for the very very rich.
As always, they're made for the rich, but the first company who can produce hydrofoil boats at truly affordable prices that don't limit the number of passengers to two, will truly make billions.
The Kormaran's design does give it a unique and convertible appearance. Were you expecting it to have dual functionality as a car and a boat, or do you think the boat design alone offers distinct advantages?
@@guenthermichaels5303 it's definitely new. The hydrofoil on candela is fully submerged all the time controlled with a computer resulting in minimum resistance. The big ferries from Russia are "dumb" self adjusted with a part of it in water and another part above water resulting in higher drag and more waves and they are not electric.. The combination of an electrobicsllt adjusted hydrofoil with an electric submerged hub motor is amazing. Candela will become a huge company. Remember who said it ☺️😁

The main difference between a hydroplane and a hydrofoil is that a hydroplane uses the shape of its hull to glide on the water surface, while a hydrofoil uses underwater wings to lift the hull out of the water and reduce drag.
The company claims it has hydrofoils that deploy under the body, different than the deplorable catamaran hulls. It's optional, though, and I don't think shown in this video.
We understand that electric propulsion on boats may not be to everyone's liking. Different preferences exist when it comes to boat propulsion systems. Fortunately, there are various options available to cater to different needs. Happy boating!

My father had 3 hydrofoil boats a lot of fun! We were always the fastest on the river. And even tugboat waves didn't bother us!

As for the Kormoran K7, just a concept: when you try to be everything ... You end up being nothing.
Electric Catermeran or Trimaran Hydrofoils are the most efficient on the smallest powertrains vs the new electric monohulls, hands down.

Yes, nothing new. Look at all the big hydrofoil ferries, from Russia.
