    Sure it might be able to start your AC unit when its brand new but just like the EG4 6500X is failing left and right only after a years worth of use, I'll bet this unit will start failing as well. High frequency, transformerless inverters like these are not designed to power high inductance loads like AC units long term

      Installing a soft start on the A/C unit will fix the issue. th-cam.com/video/I0XUbumE1oQ/w-d-xo.html

      As someone who has used both the 6500 ex and the 6000 Xp I can say the 6000 is rock solid compared to that POS 6500. I cannot believe the same company sold that product and maybe they will have fooled me twice but it is looking good so far and it has a 5 year warranty.

      EG switched suppliers. Everything is coming from Luxpower now. And they are one of the best in the business. The 6500x came from Sungold.

    Great video. Yeah the wattage per leg thing on the display is actually kinda nice in some ways. But I would prefer to have a total wattage on there also.
    If you update the firmware the menu won’t constantly scroll through all the numbers.
    That guy that preaches about low frequency inverters is on every solar page. It’s actually about 5 different accounts that say the same lines every time. Seems like an AI thing.

    • @SmitHVAC.
      @SmitHVAC.  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yea I don't mind the power per leg now, I just wasn't sure what was going on at first. I do need to do a firmware update for sure I was having some laptop trouble so it's on my list. I agree about the Ai thing, I've asked follow up questions and never get a response from him. Big low frequency must have some spam bots out there 😂

    I am gonna place a 4 ton with soft start,2 hybrid eg4 12k units, and 2 fridges on my 6000xp backed up with grid power and a generator line for outages, I will be pushing it in summer but those units have solar panels on them separately as well and the fridges are one old one new but maintained. I will let you know how it does. Also the 12k is on my wishlist as well to run the entire house with a 15kw array on the roof.

    Got a question, was the amperage in-Rush of 47 amps more on par with the startup current? And did would it be capable of also running the air handler? I always thought it would be too much for a single 6000xp Great to know that it will run the outdoor unit though 👍

      @@SmitHVAC. True say emergency heat wasn't ever used with the fan itself be able to run it I've just noticed quite a large wire gauge running into mine. I haven't clamped it yet to see what it pulls on startup or running. I'll have to do that. We never use the emergency heat though. It's an older unit I don't think it switches on to get heat quick and then off once the heat pump goes or whatever they have going nowadays. If that's even a thing lol

      @@SmitHVAC. Awesome that would be great. I'll probably need a second unit because I'm running a water heater and a bunch of lights and TV and computer off of one so far and it's just about maxing it out It's been running that way for a year straight with no issues whatsoever even overloading it and switching to the grid testing this thing hard I guess 🤷‍♂️ It do seem to be quite the capable little device 👍

    I would like to see how this thing works for a critical load panel with grid ac in to charge. Does it work like a UPS? Grid dies and it automatically switches the critical load panel to battery? Then how do you control if it’s charging, on battery, or bypass.
