I just love watching a reactors face when they first "get it" as PTX begins showing the cards. It's so very powerful what this message is. Even deeper than or better explained than the original. Then your face with their wall of sound. Stunning! Thank you for your comments and great reaction!

The cards not only show what make each person different, but also what each have in common with the next that they're passing to...

That’s the most half smiles I think I’ve seen so far, even quite a few full ones 😀 I come back to this one a lot !

What a metaphor for the message! Each individual voice is beautiful, then in unison they are extraordinary, amazing, stunning. So it is with all of us if we would just see the beauty in each person.

I would not let "spoilers" be a big concern about reacting to Pentatonix the Recording of Evergreen. I found they were minimal and more peaked my interest in the song rather than ruined it for me.

Thank you for your thoughtful reaction. There is really nothing to add to your message - diversity is key to understanding and tolerance, plus it makes life fascinating and fun.

This one chokes me up every time. Great reaction! I especially liked seeing you appreciate Kevin's voice. He has such innocence in his tone. He could sing the raunchiest lyrics (not that he ever would, he has strong moral convictions) and still sound like a cherub

That's Avi. He had very few melody parts over the 6 years he was with the band but they always gave him the parts that needed to be carried emotionally. This was done when they already knew he was leaving along with Bohemian Rhapsody. In a recent interview he did in Paris for Popopop he said that he used only 10% of his vocal range while with Pentatonix.

Thank you for another great reaction, thoughtful and insightful. When you talked about how we are all just human and all the rest shouldn’t matter, I figured you would get a kick out of the cards at the end.

Thank you for another insightful reaction! I was really looking forward to seeing your face when the wall of sound hit. I don't think I have ever watched this video without having to go back and listen to that part at least once.

Hello Joker. Great reaction. You got the message. The cards show characteristics of the person holding the card, but also importantly, a characteristic that they share with the person that they pass the card to. It shows their diversity while also acknowledging that we all have a lot in common, and then of course, that we are all humans. PTX has masterfully used their skill at A Capella arrangements, their beautiful voices and creativity and brought John Lennon's beautiful song right into today. More PTX please. The Prayer, Sound of Silence, Can You Feel the Love Tonight, Can't Help Falling In Love With You, Cheerleader. Somebody to Love, Come Along. Gold, Happy Now, Anchor, Never Gonna Cry Again.

Love watching your reaction. This is one of my favorites too. The message is so powerful.
The "live as one" sound wall is one of the most beautiful things I have heard.

Imagine by Pentatonix may be one of the most important videos of this century. This group took a classic song of tolerance and peace and modernized it as only they can. They are a perfect example of what respect and love can be like. Five people with differences in race, religion, gender, and sexuality can do beautiful things when they work together. I cried when I saw and heard this the first time. I still usually tear up when they go into Wall of Sound mode. Unfortunately Pentaholics are the ones who need to see this the least.

Thank you for your reaction, as well as your thoughtful words. Their version is SO lovely and each time we get to hear Kevin with his sweet and high voice it feels like a treat? The message is important and while the information about them is interesting, as in knowing them better, it has never factored in to the fact that I really like them? And that is how it should be, in my opinion anyway. They are great Humans, period. ❤️

The cards also show what they have in common with the next person. In my opinion they do this at the end with the wall of sound as they all sing individual notes but come together to end on the same note

You are a beautiful guitar player! Thank you for taking the time for PTX! PTX has my heart, their music is like therapy for me. So healing! Your little smiles indicate appreciation of what you just heard, something that stands out that little bit more. I appreciate seeing that! Thank you!

I think you'll really enjoy their version of The Prayer. It's very recent, they released it last October. A mature PTX, with incredible performances by Mitch and Scott and wonderfully intricate harmonies. Their cover of My Heart With You, from the same recent Christmas album as The Prayer, is very moving as well. The official music video for this is a live recording, which I think as a musician you'll appreciate.

Thank you for the thoughtful reaction. Their wall of sound is very prominent in this one. Mary Did You Know has it as well. I think you might enjoy Come Along as well. Quirky and upbeat.

Thanks for the wonderful reaction. It is a great message, and it is also one of the few where they each get to sing a whole verse of the song. Looking forward to more PTX. If you want to see the first song they ever sang as Pentatonix, check out their first performance on the TV show "The Sing Off", which was an singing competition show in 2011. Scott wanted to go on the show with Mitch & Kirstie, with whom he had sung as a trio in high school. They needed 5 voices, so he found Kevin and Avi and they all met just before the audition, and the rest is history. In the first performance, they talk a little about how they became a group. Here's a link to the first performance: th-cam.com/video/9STdbGrfCLA/w-d-xo.html

I think the recording of Evergreen would be fine. It won’t spoil anything just make you want to listen to the music. Yes everyone should be treated the same but the world isn’t there yet. This is certainly a great cover. John Lennon would approve

Pentatonix shows us that 1+1+1+1+1=1. If only we could understand that every person in this world are one together.

No need to apologize for doing what you need to do to get your reactions posted. For “Pentatonix - The Recording Of Evergreen “ the main spoiler is with The Prayer and I Wish You To A Merry Christmas & I Saw Three Ships to a lesser extent. You definitely should react to The Prayer first.

I'm here (and subscribed for) Pentatonix, but since you are a guitarist I'm wondering if you have ever heard Django Reinhardt? He was a guitar player from Belgium of Romani ancestry who had a jazz string group in Paris in the 1930's called the Quintette du Hot Club de France. They played a new form of jazz that influenced guitar players for decades after. There are a few video clips of him from the 30's including this from a 1939 American film -- th-cam.com/video/ANArGmr74u4/w-d-xo.html (FYI -- Django almost died in a trailer fire when he was a teenager and lost the use of two fingers on his left hand, so he has an odd playing style)
