Eko Ramone Thanks!!! I do agree on that. I realized that in order to play 8th notes on it comfortably, my Hihat stand needed to be taller, and it now is🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
Nice! Ha! The Ramonescore term kind of weirds me out as it seems to encompass a more broad group of bands than the very "to the point" term leads to believe....but yeah, Ramones influence is all over. Fun to watch! -J Prozac
Yo dude, thanks for watching!!! I love the Prozacs by the way🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 Yeah I have kind of noticed a bit more of a broader spectrum when it comes to bands like this. For one the Ramones never had any solos, so the inclusion of those are definitely from somewhere else, and even with that, the Ramones didn’t start sounding extremely melodic until later albums🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 of course don’t get me wrong, the first 4 albums I think are their absolute heyday, but the poppier punk sound came later.
@@jacobreinhart8078 Thanks man! Ha! What's rad with Ramones that can often be overlooked us the straight away version of them raw and live...and the intricacies... often very subtle... that are spread throughout the recordings. Keep rocking dude! Maybe we will hit a show together at some point!
zimshowfan I agree to an extent. I mentioned them because the influence of the Ramones was very present in at least the Early 39 Smooth and Kerplunk Era
Allright, i'm about to get nitpicky here - rest assured, it's all in good fun cause I loved your song and thought you did a great job. What you did is not Ramones-core from a purist standpoint. It's more like Weasel/Queers core. I love those bands, so no complaints. That said. True Ramones core goes like this: Drums: 4/4 beat (ala Blitzkrieg Bop). eight notes on hi-hat Bass: Dee Dee didn't venture out much, but often played octaves. in other words, ignore the top E string. play everything on the other strings. Guitar: Downstrum only, barre-chords only. Songwriting wise, Ramones-core songs have a catchy verse, then often jump into out-of-key riffs (typically 3-4 chords). They also have odd cymbal hits that go along with the guitar chord changes. Perfect example is "Why Is It Always This Way", "Rock away Beach", "Listen To My Heart" or "Bad Brain". Lyrically.... typically a dumb theme, but written cleverly. Good call on Lillingtons - Death By Television. Although from a Ramones-core standpoint. Backchannel Broadcast is more in that vein. Good example of great Ramones-core songs: "Blood On the Ice" - Riverdales, "Don't Go Looking In the Closet" - HEAD, "Everyting's Smoking Cheeba" - Donnas , "American War Machine" - Huntingtons. Cheers and great job regardless! Just getting nitpicky for humor sake. Sidenote; There was a great band from UK in the late 70s called The Lurkers. They were huge Ramones fans and sort of mixed this style with their own UK pub style. Check out the album "Fullham Fallout" by 1978. If you're a Ramones fan, you'll love it. Cheers!
RuloWeasel I agree! The list could go on and on too. I find the best ramonescore bands to not be absolute carbon copies of others. The more melodic, fun to listen to, and fun to play on your own instruments, the better🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Absolutely!!! Punk is very easy to play, but takes effort to really “master” (I use that word loosely). It’s mostly power chords and single note at a time solos galore!
Landon Guitar on all of the demos it’s all me. I write and record everything myself. My buddies Eddie, Brandon and Ben are members of the live band. We have our full sets recorded and on this channel as well🤙🏻
Its awesome to meet a fellow guitarist/bassist/Ramones fan.
Absolutely man! Thanks for watching!
I wish this guy delevired my pizza.
Been waiting for someone to do this with ramonescore that knows their shit! Awesome video and great tune!
Alex BLURG! Thanks so much man🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 really appreciate it🙌🏻
Ha. Blurg.
Great explaination of what Ramonescore is all about. And nifty song too! 🤘
Dude! You killed it! So simplistic and to the point. I’ve been playing guitar and bass since 92. Pretty much how I’ve written most of my songs.
Love your channel man. Subscribed
Ha, very fun. And i've turned a lot of people who aren't into "Ramonescore" onto Death by Television. Even my 6-9 year old nephews love that shit.
thanks for info...mostly I play ramonescore songs... :)
No problem man!!! I happen to be a subscriber of yours. Good stuff!!!
I think my band might end up being Ramonescore.
Fantastic
with that dirty distortion and that lead guitar part, we could even call that "weaselcore"
weaselcore lol
Lol that obligatory count in the beginning of almost every ramonscore song.
PK Rockin it’s an unwritten law🤘🏻🤙🏻
I wanna be like this dude when I grow up.
First you gotta grow up
@@jacobreinhart8078 "idk if I can do all that..." - Milo or Joey Ramone.
@@landonharrison1343 lol i see what you did there. Both are great songs.
Love it !
8th note on the hihat would be nicer

Love this video bro! I'm always struggeling with lyrics, but that is because my english sucks. Keep up the good work
Thanks very much my man!!! The things I come up with on a whim!!!
Jacob Reinhart maybe I should start writing dutch songs... whoehahahahaha
Great Video, thank you :)

Jason Gauvin very true!!!
Thanks a lot man!!! Maybe Some day!!!
The song came out real good haha
Love this. Ramones were about 177 bpm i believe. Blitzkrieg boo was 176

Subbed.
I don't think the majority of Green Day's catalog counts as Ramonescore. Stylistically, they jump around too much on their albums.

+Jacob Reinhart Yeah some of the stuff that era definitely qualifies.

Thanks dude. I really enjoy music and I have no fucking idea how to write it. You earned my sub :D

what was dumb about Ramones themes?
in my opinion the "ramonescore" term should be more suitable for bands such as: the vapids, the mugwumps, deecracks, the manges, hanson brothers, etc.

This is literally how negative XP writes their songs.
