I clicked this video expecting very little, but I really enjoyed what you've put together here. The Ramones' style isn't terribly difficult to understand, yet crucial details are constantly overlooked in the midst of silly comments like "you just need three power chords and four leather jackets!". Thanks for getting it right, man.
Really well done Ben..you did a great Job on your Punk song in the style of the Ramones...very well played and sung...so Massive pot holes aren't just a problem on UK roads then..lol
That was rocking awesome Ben I always loved The Ramones ever since I first heard them in the summer of 76 WHEN i WAS 18 sadly most of the band are now dead but they were great and I loved them then and I still love them now wow Ben and that is just like a reincarnation of the Ramones awesome original great work Ben I loved it my friend
Funny, I've had a handful of different comments with different songs that mine sounds like. It just goes to show how well The Ramones' had their own distinct sound. Thanks for watching.
Hey Ben... I bet this was a blast putting together. I love your emphasis on the downstrokes for the guitar. Lol. But it really does make a difference! Of course these guys were major influences on today’s punk rockers including the likes of Green Day. Great job again bro!
It’s amazing how you can take influences and turn them into a song. Most people have influences that you can hear in their songs, but to turn that influence into a song that reflects a certain band or artist is a hard thing to do. It’s interesting to see the way you dissect and construct a song this way. Lol, there is no way I could play instruments like you either...great Ramones song here, Ben! The drumming rocks. :) Janet
Man I replayed the first 30 seconds like 5 times. That was some tricky editing. Also this was one of my favourite songs you've done so far. I'm not much of a musician, but when I was in a band in my youth, I remember our guitar playing also talking about sticking to down strokes to get that more aggressive sound
Yes! That's the stuff! Paging Joey Ramone, paging Joey Ramone; rocking out at home. Have you thought of trying to write a song in the style of Nick Cave?
I'm falling behind, sadly. Health, mine and others. I always enjoy your informative and entertaining videos. Yup. Fast work on those songs. Like your description of the pick action and other explanations. Your videos make a great instructional series for anyone interested in the development of music. I LOVED the song. One of your best. Cheers. R.
Sick!!! I actually did a video like this except it’s about RamonesCORE rather than just the Ramones about a year ago. I showed how to write songs like The Queers, Screeching Weasel, The Lillingtons and the like, as they fall under the subgenre. I explained how they used Ramones techniques and made my own song for it too!!!
Yo d0tsandlines here, I had no idea you had a youtube channel great video, +1 sub. I was talking to a friend in work yesterday and he said the only reason I'm not in love with Prince (he's obsessed) is because I'm scared of funk, and I said nah I can funk when I want to. The thing I'm really scared of is punk. Having watched this I feel slightly less so. Still it hurts to play, I got enough RSI as it is, I know I'm a wimp!
Hey, Steven! Good to see you found my TH-cam channel. I have some sort of naivety, where I think I can play any sort of music. It's good to try every kind of music, but I've found I'm best at acoustic singer-songwriter stuff. I wouldn't have known without trying these crazy genres. Anyways, try everything! The song-a-week challenge makes trying new things easier.
@@benaaronmusic I'm the same, I like to mix it up/get bored too easily. While It does seem like your main strength, I like family fun time and that's got drums etc so no reason you can't do both. Yeah definitely, this soliloquy one should be interesting. Still not started :/
Amazing video! You really deserve more attention! Also can i suggest one? What do you think of "to write a song like Thin Lizzy!"! Also remember me? I saw you on that SamuraiGuitarist video!
This video made me want to actually 1. login, 2. like, 3. subscribe, and 4. COMMENT, all 4 of which I never do. Why can't youtube promote better videos like this!? 2000 views, what BS. This man deserves all the monetization he gets. So sad youtube!
You've just play Let's Dance with another lyrics.
Pedro Rocha 😂😂😂
this is a swindle
@@theleveljuan3151 cuz its mabye an underrated ramones song
@@sm_4859 - Let's Dance was already a cover, actually...

That’s awesome tune! Love the Ramones and you captured the brilliance and of their songs!

Someone has become really good at the drums ! Love it, punk rock my second first love !

I appreciate the kind words, Rohan. Keep on rocking.

RIP Joey Ramone, a true legend. 17 years ago to the day. Also, Pot Hole City Patrol! What a clever idea.
This one might quite possibly be your best.
Brad Carl - One of my personal favorites. Thank you for the comment. Much appreciated.
The song you made for the end of the video, sounds sooo similar to "Let´s Dance"...
Funny, I've had a handful of different comments with different songs that mine sounds like. It just goes to show how well The Ramones' had their own distinct sound. Thanks for watching.
@@benaaronmusic Anyway, I think it's an excellent video, very good!

As alway so much great information and Music..A great Shirt by the way.

Fantastic this Ben. Believe it or not, I was never really exposed to the Ramones over here in the UK growing up.
You put so much work into your music and videos on such a consistent basis. I can't wait till you get the recognition you deserve. ☺
Great composition Ben
your Channel is awesome, you deserve much more subscribers and views
If you take this style and make the lyrics about Halloween and horror themes and maybe play a darker riff or two you get the misfits 😂
That is so cool my friend!!! Gabba gabba Hey!!!! Greetings from Hamburg, Jimmy :-)

I really enjoyed this video up to the point where the song you wrote was just "Let's Dance" with different lyrics. Pretty good overall
Let’s dance!
I saw them years ago in 1980 at a bar. they were freaks but it was fun
Nice!
Sounds Like let's dance but i fckn Like IT
Thanks, Kup. It sounds like a few of their tunes. That's the idea. Have an awesome day.
-Ben Aaron
Love it! You really did them justice. Little more grit in your voice woulda amped up the punk factor but it was great.
Sick!!!

Let’s dance ...with a twist ... ...😎🎸🎶
Subbed.
Can you do The Clash?
did Stevie T stole the idea from this guy
Maybe! It's all common knowledge and simple stuff to dissect. Thanks for watching.
What about... how to write a song like Tool?.. it would take many parts
That would be awesome. I might try it one day, but find a real drummer to help me out. Thanks for the suggestion, Santiago.
Theyd play 300 beats a minute in the 90s

Cody Zander Daniel johnsTon is real good
*ramonescore*
Right on, Landon! Keep on rocking.
@benaaronmusic
Buddy Holly but in 177 bpm
This is just lets dance which wasn't even written by the ramones lol
Dude just finish my video too!
Why’d you pretend like you wrote Let’s Dance , everyone knows
Because this was an exercise in writing a song like The Ramones.
I was assuming you’d write one from scratch cool video though keep ramones content coming !!
