- Southwest's Orlando, FL hub is extremely lucrative for both the airline and passengers. After all, it's one of the largest vacation cities in the country.
Southwest has been one of my favorite airlines ever since I was a kid, even though that's not a popular take. Most people consider it a simple low-cost shuttle to warm destinations, but to me, it's a charming airline that excels in fares and consistency.
Our aircraft was the special livery "Illinois One". It features a beautiful paint-scheme of an Eagle with a shield. It was inspired and rearranged from the Illinois state flag.

I like Southwest’s airside at MCO. When I flew JetBlue in 2008 they had that airside, but they don’t anymore. They are definitely the dominant carrier of Orlando.

Great trip report, Quintin! I flew on Illinois One many years ago, probably around 2009-10. Looks just the same in your video, except the seats were reupholstered at some point. Still one of my favorite liveries on any airline!

Infinite Flight is so blessed to have a livery like this on a Boeing 737-700
My home state is Illinois. Grew up there. One of SW best livery. I have the 1:200 on preorder from Gemini.

I like all of the “one” type liveries for Southwest, especially this one,
Louisiana One is my favorite (my home state so I’m a little biased), but Illinois One is also one of their best! I’ve only flown on New Mexico One before. But I just wanted to make a correction, Southwest only has 12 state liveries and the SI magazine photo shoot livery was quickly repainted (as it was highly controversial). That plane is actually now Tennessee One (N922WN)!

Flew the exact same plane 2 years ago... very distinctive livery. Even made a tripreport of that flight and it is still on my channel!
The IL One livery is being repainted onto N957WN a Boeing 737-7H4 that entered service in 2011, within the next year to 2 years.

This livery in now on a 737-8H4 registered as N8619F. It also features WNs older two tone Evolve color pallet seats.

Great vid Quintin! Over the past 5 years (and flying SWA a ton) I’ve really come to love the 737. They are so safe and reliable. I hope I can get back on one soon! I also hope we see the Max back soon, I really want to fly on one!

Even Though this was back in June, things were changed in March...airlines are having trouble and I don’t like hearing how they may go out of business, 2020 has been the most craziest year I have gone through and I have not flown, anyway safe travels QFS and I love southwest always.

Hey QFS, Your trip reports are amazing! If I may make a few suggestions, I think you should explore more of the Rocky Mountains and also go the the Upper Peninsula/Northern Wisconsin. they are all really nice places especially in the winter in my opinion. Keep it real 🤙

Wow. Plane tickets in the US are insanely cheap. You paid $80 for a 2 hour flight, meanwhile in the Bahamas we pay that amount for a $12 minute flight. That is crazy.
Interesting review Great that then enforce boarding however I’m surprised for maximum social distancing they don’t ask people to fill the rear rows first so that as few people as possible walk past passengers sitting at the front. If they can give a can of water why not soda or coffee/tea but I guess they have to cut costs somehow to keep lean.

A very enjoyable trip report as always :) I agree that the Illinois One livery is excellent, as are all of Southwest's special liveries (I really wish we made more of an effort over here in the UK). I did have to laugh at 31" seat pitch though, we'd kill for that over here as it is usually between 28-30", I suppose it depends on how tall you are though (and how the seats themselves are) I'm 5'10/11 and can find some 28" seats rather comfortable.
I have never flown with Southswest, my partner has on many occasions before she met me. I am glad to see how seriously they are taking the current situation, especially in comparison to other carriers. Watching your video makes me miss the USA, we should have been visiting twice this year (one of which would have featured a flight with Southwest) but now both trips are in tatters :( I am glad that I can at least watch your videos to give me a taste :)

ISP is my hometown airport and I love it there haha. Im flying in two days round trip to MCO from there. When you landed was there any security checking that you filled out that form Cuomo is requiring incoming flights to check out? What should I be prepared for come when I come back... Thanks!
Islip is a great airport if you want to avoid NYC. However they need a flight to Midway on Southwest. American only flies to Philly and I think Frontier only goes to Orlando as well. When American and United flew there in the 80’s and 90’s, it was great-I’d go LA-O’Hare to Islip. I miss that service. If Southwest or American would add a flight to Chicago, you could go coast to coast again with one stop!

The takeoff looked like a normal length take off. Rather than taking off with less distance they would have used less power in the engines and using the regular distance. Save the engines would be the airlines motto

your flight had 67% capacity which meant every seat was taken but the middle seat unless you were travelling togehter with 3 or more people then you could sit in the middle seat also i hopefully will be flying to las vegas on august 19th from omaha on southwest 737-700 their flights some are long flights while other flights are shuttle flights for example omaha to chicago omaha to st louis and omaha to denver are shuttle flights as well as the texas triangle is another example of a shuttle flight even new york laguardia to baltimore east coast shuttle flight
