In my experience the Basecamp software really is a PC thing. For example on my mac (a 2020 Macbook pro) if I download a gpx file containing a route, it will show as a track on both my pc and my mac but on the mac it will not allow me to create a route from this track that I can put into my device and then drive after, unless I am in some kind of flying machine, as all it does is draw a straight line from point a to point b. Where as on my PC (a crappy, cheap Lenovo) it happily creates a perfect route from the same track. (Im both cases I choose the Create route from track option, you cand do this by either right clicking the track or highlight it and then go via menue curtain). Also if I spend hours creating a really long route (more than 500km) on my Mac, for some reason my device will not make a useful route from this, it will at some point of the route just draw a straight line. On the PC however I dont have any issue.

I think we will have to agree to disagree here. The functionality on each is the same you just need to set up BaseCamp on your Mac. Don’t get me wrong, not saying BaseCamp is perfect but as a tutor in BaseCamp I personally feel it is better on the Mac, but just different.
I think some of the free lessons take you through setting up BaseCamp on a Mac - gpsonlinecourse.co.uk
If you bought your unit from us the Garmin BaseCamp guide you got with it takes you through the settings.
      I hope this helps.

I downloaded Basecamp and Express on my MacBook Pro but when I plug my Zumo XT USB it only recognizes connected to Express and not in My Devices in Basecamp..??

Sadly I have never used a Zumo, BUT on a number of Garmin units and a Mac the drivers can only be used by x 1 programme at a time. Therefore try closing down Garmin Express (make sure properly closed down, no black dot under icon on task bar), plug your GPS in and then open up BaseCamp. Fingers crossed

Having exactly the same problem that Phillip describes.... the Basecamp shows me the track... transferring it to the Eurex 32x I get a straight line from Start to finish. Renders Basecamp pretty useless and markedly diminishes the functionality of my Garmin

Sorry to hear you are having problems, it sounds like the settings are incorrect on either your GPS or BaseCamp.
If you bought your unit from us please call the tech team and they will go through these with us and get you up and running in the way it should be.
Alternatively you can get discount code here - mailchi.mp/gpstraining/youtubeoffer - so you can sign up to a support package. Then you get access to over 1000 videos taking you through everything you need.
      I hope this helps.

I have a Montana 650t, is that compatible with basecamp?

@@ukgpstraining Well, I cannot get it to work on my MAC Book. Says I need some sort of "Upgrade" whcih doe snothing when you try it. Will keep trying, BTW did they rename Basecamp to Garmin Express?

@@ukgpstraining Your right, I just had to find the right download place. Got it to work after further research. Thanks for your videos! People just don't understand how bad "Smart" phones are with respect to tracking us. They are NOT our friends!

@@mountainskyaerialphotograp3921 Garmin BaseCamp and Garmin Express are two different things.
Is it BaseCamp you are struggling to install or is it your unit not being recognised my your Mac?

@@ukgpstraining Thanks for the help. I got it figured out. Got BaseCamp installed with no issues (I think it was the first site I went to that had a problem). Got the old Montana connected! Thanks for you help with all these things! Most do not realize that NOT being connected to a smart phone is essential!

BaseCamp tech is like stepping backwards 15 years, especially for Mac users. Period.
