- “Ulveham” is based on a medieval balled, and like other historical legends and songs it carries an important moral.
The song is a story of young maiden that undergoes a series of injustices, but by upholding justice and goodness, even in the toughest trials, she triumphs over evil forces and breaks the curse placed upon her.
Gåte emerged as a cultural gem in the early 2000s, seamlessly blending traditional Norwegian folk music with explosive rock, catapulting them from the confines of a practice space to grand stages in record time!
With this unique take on folk/trad rock and their triumphant live shows the band has managed to captivate massive audience.
Gåte’s music is a dark, mesmerizing and stunningly beautiful take on Nordic folk. Where they flirt with elements from traditional Norse and pagan music as well as from more modern genres like rock and industrial.

I found another Norwegian learner! I'm also learning Bokmål! I think another Gåte sond Kom no Disjka (it's my favourite) is in Bokmål (I'm not sure tho).
@@silviasabo962 "Kom no disjka" is definitely not Bokmål, but some dialect, yet since I'm German and no specialist in Norwegian dialects (though I do recognize and understand a lot of the one from northern Norway in which Kari Bremnes sings most of her songs, even though I'm only learning Bokmål), I can't tell you which one. As far as I know, none of Gåte's songs is in Bokmål. They are all in some dialect and "Kom no disjka" seems to be a very strong one. At least when I read the lyrics, I hardly understand any of the words.

Sangen "Vedergällningen" til det svenske folkrock-bandet Garmarna er forresten også basert på nesten den samme historien som "Ulveham". Forskjellen er at i den norske versjonen til denne middelalderballaden, det er ei jente som er skapt i en ulv, mens i den svenske versjonen, det er en gutt.
