My biggest regret is buying PS5...Complete waste of money for the value i barely received... -No games or value from ps plus -No themes -No personalization -Soulless UI system that can't be customized
I'm currently selling my PS5 since I grew tired of having no games to play and being disrespected with 30% price hikes on PS Plus and $700 consoles with no disk drive or stand. I already have a PC, so I'll just use the money to upgrade it, and that + my Nintendo Switch is all I need. Sony's greed and betting on games-as-a-service (Concord) is what's killing them.
Yeah I just stopped buying games on mine they are far too expensive and never go on sale. Gran turismo 7 is nearly 3 years old but still sells for over £40
After saving up all the money I had for a PS5 in 2021, I genuinely tell everyone I know not to buy one. It’s a glorified PS4 pro, Blu Ray, and Streaming box. I know so many people who still happily use their PS4’s daily it’s insane. I bought the thing for Spider-Man 2 and not even that game lived up to all the hype. Biggest $500 waste of money ever
PS5 is the BEST $500 spent on a gaming console. It's a radical shift from previous machines. I get to experience SSD load speeds, Best controller to date with all the haptics and adaptive triggers, almost 90% or the games having the option to play at or above 60FPS. Plus it's my first time experiencing all of this on an OLED display so that adds even more to the overall experience. So stop insulting yourself by claiming it's a glorified PS4 pro lmao...it literally had a mobile CPU !! The only problem with this gen is the insane production cost due to inflation and games taking way too much time to develop to meet the standards these consoles demand. And most importantly it started right after a GLOBAL PANDEMIC !!!
I wish i could trade it against high tier pc with good videocard and ram. 500 and 1500 euro for 2000 some guy i know can build good systems. But nobody want my ps5 slim only for low prices, i bought the damn thing for 588 euro Thats like 600$ 😂 nobody told there are no games for next gen only stupid remakes i dont want blegh🔫
@@jumuwu6262 If Nintendo can keep their players happy by providing same tried and tested age old children's games that run at 15-20 fps with few to no big major releases happening on their platform, then anyone who owns PS5/XSX/PC shouldn't be complaining NOT ONE BIT lmao...
I don't want to be that 'just build a pc guy', but, I promise the satisfaction you'll get from building your own machine, being able to play every game or emulate. So worth considering...
I had a PS5, but when I did some research on building a PC, I found it to be more up my alley. It cost more than a PS5, but I enjoyed building it within the constraints of the case I chose for it. Now I have something that not only plays my steam library but also can do everything that PCs are capable of. I have zero regrets about jumping from Sony's greed and arrogance to something that excites me way more.
@@WECKmaster329And you don't replace your PC every 8 years, you can do incremental upgrades after the initial investment (Though migrating to the new CPU socket is a bit of a hassle when you need to do so). I haven't changed my PC case for... 15 years. Just replaced the fans.
Since I was like 12 I've dreamed about using tons of minecraft mods. Here I am, finally able to justify buying a pc since the newest ps5 is going on $1k. Thank you sony, thanks to you I can finally let go
I have a top of the line gaming pc i built myself but I also have a ps5 for when i just want to sit in the couch and play. And that knowing how much more work it is to get a pc working well in a living room scenario i wouldn't recommend it to people just looking to kick back and play some games.
I bought a PS5 to play my ps4 games with no/very fast loading screens and to update to 4k resolution. But with their games releasing onto steam now, I dont think I'll ever get another PlayStation console until they have a line-up of games like 5+ I really want to play. I haven't bought GoW:Ragnarok yet and I'm pretty sure I'm just going to buy it on PC so i can maximise it's graphics on better hardware as I upgrade my PC into the future.
Only way I'm sticking to console by the gen after this one is if the next Xbox is basically a high powered steam deck. At these prices competing with pc might become the only option by then. And if I had a dollar for every time I've heard a console player express pc envy I'd be rich. I can't go on without mods anymore man!
Nintendo as a game developer made the best choice for their console. It isn't powerful yes, but that allows their developers to make games on a lower budget and quicker. Depending on the franchise
PC is such a wildly different platform. Many console players don't want to deal with windows errors & settup & many pc players don't want to use a console anyways. Genuinely can't believe releasing games on steam cannibalizes sales all that much.
I'm one of those people who don't want to deal with that nonsense. New game is out? Sees the the requirements oh now I need a new part PC is clearly neglected with crappy ports my favorite example arkham knight I don't want to deal with stupid settings as well.
Game studios want to play safe by remastering older successful games. It costs way more to make a new game from scratch with limited funding and poor state of the gaming industry [mass sacking]
Console exclusivity is stupid and it has nothing to do with being a casual or not. It just doesn't benefit consumers at all. A game being exclusive doesn't mean it'll be good and the PS2 is the highest selling console of all time because it was a cheap dvd player, the Wii was able to market itself as a fun casual gaming device that a lot of people bought, the Wii U couldn't sell inspite of it having fantastic exclusives that then got ported to the Switch and sold well, Redfall is exclusive to Xbox and is terrible, the list goes on. Are some of the best games of all time exclusive? sure, but some of the best games of all time are also multiplatform. The only ones who benefit from exclusivity are the platform holders period.
@@Totino_tonio Nop instead 'Platform holders' started poaching talents from publishers then they started making games exclusive & now they are buying publishers. It always was a power move & has never benefitted consumers mostly. Only benefit it provided was exploiting all the features on console HW but now since most PC HW is same / similar to modern consoles thus i am not sure if there are any unique HW features to continue exclusive strategy. Also exclusivity has failed to move the needle when it comes to expanding the gaming market.
New generations shouldn't be developed unless devs show genuine interest in taking full advantage of the hardware. Why did this gen need to exist, realistically? I honestly prefer Nintendo's philosophy at this point. They don't release new products until AFTER they have new ideas that their current tech can't handle. They pushed the Switch to the outermost limits of its lifespan and it proved itself by every metric. They abandoned the tech snob high specs war completely and it ultimately paid off for them AND their fans. Is it finally starting to show its age now? Yeah, but that only makes the timing for the Switch 2 more impressive. They don't ask when people "want" an upgrade (always, every day, all the time, too damn much). They release tech when they "need" an upgrade.
The consoles never should have launched in 2020. It was never going to work out well for anyone. 2022 at the latest would have been perfectly fine. Then next generation could have started in 2030 but now it's going to be 2027 or 2028. This generation has been a complete waste of time and money.
No games, over priced, was scalped to hell at launch, makes a version with no disc drives then charges more for it... will be bought by scalpers again and ransomed to players.
I like the idea of being a game studio and just making a game specific for a particular console. Like, it gives the console value because that is the only platform where you can play it.
I disagree that exclusives should be the focus. This was the case decades ago when that was basically all that consoles could offer but now we have a lot more reasons to choose. I personally prefer PlayStation. Im a part of the ecosystem, I prefer actually owning my media as 90% of PlayStation games are playable straight from the disc and not having DRM, I prefer the controller and I prefer the peripheral accessories like VR and the Portal. Xbox however has significantly better backwards compatibility, has “retro compatibility” and has a better digital games model (if you’re into that). In the second part of your video you touched on the issue perfectly - the PS5 is basically a more powerful PS4 pro, they keep making games for the PS4 and that’s holding us back. Not only this, under Jim Ryan’s leadership PlayStation lost its entire identity, we lost all of Japan studios and PlayStation pivoted to live services. The PlayStation was originally marketed as the “mature” console to compete with Nintendo and we’ve lost that. The platform is full of censorship and DEI, single player has been abandoned, Japanese games have been abandoned. PlayStation has lost its identity. Now when I say exclusives I mean PlayStation exclusives, not PS5 exclusives. Games exclusive to the PS5 should absolutely be a thing.
Exclusives are necessary as they help to give consoles an identity. Without them, you'll settle for what's the most capable system and it wouldn't be considered a console. That's why everyone is on PC or Switch.
@@fgvcosmic6752 Yeah, that’s what I meant. Some people are getting the terminology mixed up I think, because we should all agree there should be next gen exclusives. PS5 is basically a slightly faster PS4 pro. Definitely been disappointing. Even the load times aren’t that much better than the pro with SSD, at least not enough that I care.
@@ChaosUnfold Not necessarily. I don’t game on PC largely because of lack of physical media and DRM. The moment PlayStation goes digital I’ll probably quit gaming as a whole.
lol, you do realize that the games, even on disc contain DRM? Any day sony can drop a patch telling the console "game discs with this ID don't execute anymore" and boom, there you go with your 70$ piece of plastic disc, and the same happens with every other platform, this has already happened in the past.
@@maravreloaded ease of use and pretty much zero maintenance , lower price, way less cheaters, online protection and just preference. “Get a pc to have highest specs”, You got 3000 euros to spare lol?
For me it was the other way atround, i builded a PC in 2012 just for the PC Exclusives like anno abd total war series but my mainplattform is PS because i prefer controller vs controller and no hackers in online lobbys and plug play. Half of my PC exclusives i was not even able to play. Empire total war gave the after some hours in the game an error, and if you google for a solution it says that i had the wrong CPU and need to buy another one. That is pc gaming. No time for that
I will say I think removing VII Rebirth for being a remake might be a little bit of a stretch considering most people who've played both the original ff7 and the two remake parts generally agree the story and gameplay are too different for it to be called a remake, and just call it a sequel instead
Yknow, when I was mostly done editing this video, I rewatched dunkey's video on that game and realised that its more than just a remake, so thats my bad. I do agree with you there.
If they don't get a handle on development costs, budgets and pricing before PS6, it won't just be consumers leaving the console market - they'll start losing developers (like Square Enix) that can't take the financial risks. Sony can't subsidize losses forever.
Back in the NES days, all you needed was a few months and a dev kit from Nintendo. That was back in the 1980's. Anyone who had the talent and tools could do it. Today, the games have budgets that are $100 million dollars. Because of that, the market for new games is unsustainable.
You were right, Stellar Blade and Spider-Man 2 did end up on PC. Astro Bot is like that horse from the novel Animal Farm, where he tries to carry more and more weight until he eventually dies. That's the PS5, it's all on Astro Bot's back.
Reasons to buy a PS5: - Astro bot - Stellar Blade (open secret it's being ported to PC) - GTA6 (We all know it's coming to PC a year later) That being said most people I know who buy the PS5 are casuals who don't really care about all these things. They just buy and enjoy the new thing whenever it comes out and then get excited for the next new thing. People will buy the pro and people will buy the remasters. Just like how they keep upgrading their phones for no apparent real world reason other than it's being new, just like people bought the portal despite it being inferior to the phone+dualsense combo they have already had and just how they keep buying games like FIFA every year which is just a full price gambling game that re-sells the same digital cards to them every year.
There are tonnes more games than the ones you've mentioned to buy a PS5, I have 511 games shared across PS4/PS5. Plus i suggest you grab a standard PS5 as it's an absolute steal considering what PS5 pro costs !!
@@Luciry123 It'll take an hour to make the list. But just this year alone when Sony said LOUD and CLEAR at the start of this year that there won't be any major first party titles releasing till the first quarter of 2025.....we had FF7RB, Stellar Blade, Helldivers 2, Black Myth Wukong, and now Astro Bot all these games playable only on PS5 and some on PC and all being worthy of GOTY contenders and I have 100s of hours easily across them. And this is when they said there won't be exclusives. "Name one" lmao... And if Nintendo can milk their customers by releasing the same tried and tested age old games with a fresh coat of paint that run at 15-20 fps and look horrendous as hell, then anyone who owns PS5/XSX/PC should not be complaining..NOT. ONE . BIT !!!
When I found out there will be an Until Dawn remaster and priced at 110 dollars in Australia I gave up on this console and backed away from all delusion to buy a ps5 pro
I thought the PS5 was the bees knees. Until I got my bc PS3 a few months ago. I haven't turned on my PS5 for months now. In years to come when people are remembering the PS5. It will be remembered for being the console that mainly released PS4 remakes./remastered games. And that's it, sadly!
Personally, I really don’t care about fidelity. I do not care that much about resolution and framerate. As long as it’s readable and is more than 20 fps (thanks peacewalker) I’ll enjoy it fully. That’s why I’m sticking with my PS3 and Switch!
Bro youre stuck in the past, under 60fps and 1080p (1440p for me) is unacceptable, if it were for people like you video games would still look like crap😂
When it comes to exclusivity, i used to care about it because i thought it forced the big three to compete on making the best games. Now, i dont want a single studio working with Sony or Microsoft. Shift Up was forced to censor stellar blade and it being a ps5 exclusive really hurt its potential sales in my opinion. Helldivers 2 and Gow Rag had the stupid mandated to make a PSN even you were playing it on pc, with psn not being available in a lot of countries, it just makes those games anti-consumer friendly. Tango gameworks proved to us all that if you make a great game youll get layed off by Microsoft. Why have exclusives if the corporations arent taking care of their studios and ultimately hurt the industry?
The last nail in the coffin for me was Sony restricting access to games in regions where PSN is not supported. My region happens to be one of them, but simply because Sony is Sony, my money, apparently, is not good enough for them 😅
@@sashanilssen As the netizens proclaim, Woke of Tsushima shall grace our eyes and abilities within the application known as Steam. Whereas the PlayStation Fifth will remain video game deficient.
Im intrigued by astro bot. But not worth getting a ps5 for it. I might just try on pc if comes out to it, i presume the controllers could work on pc. Seems like the game was designed around it.
As someone who got a Ps5 last year, yeah it’s underwhelming. Every game I’ve played on it is a game that’s available on PS4 or PC, with the exception of Spiderman 2. Hoping they bring more games or else I’m dipping from PlayStation. this generation has been so underwhelming and I’m hoping even GTA VI doesn’t make these consoles sell well, it’ll send the message to Xbox and Sony that we want exclusive games
@@HandOn-c40009 I was replying to the above comment that was saying the only ps5 exclusive they’ve played is spiderman 2 just giving them other options
Exclusives are dumb, how does a game being available on only that console make it a better game? I have nearly 30 games on PS5, and the PS5 runs them really well, why do they need to be exclusive for them to have value, or the PS5 to have value?
@@cameronfarrell9076After spending half a grand on a new super video game machine because you were sold on it's fancy new next gen hardware you sorta expect to play games on it that were developed specifically to use that new hardware to it's fullest potential, otherwise it doesn't justify the investment. Imagine if when the ps2 dropped sony only released ps1 games for the next 5 years and were like "But check it out guys! When you play it on ps2 Lara Croft's pyramid tits are so much clearer!". But ig it's only a problem if you got the ps5 to play ps5 games. If you got it because it's the newest clout item ur probably pretty happy with it. Its like running out to buy the new iPhone, it looks cool and has technically better specs but you're still just gonna use it for the same 4 apps you've been using for thw last 10 years.
Maaaan! I live in Botswana so seeing gaming news from a context that's similar to mine is so refreshing! 17k rands for a PS5 is kinda wild. The cheapest I've seen here is 8.5k pula. Which the Pro is going to be frkn 21k pula. 💀💀
I am indifferent to system exclusives provided there is a legitimate reason for it, like a company mascot with Nintendo and Mario, or unique hardware that’s unavailable on other systems, like the PC with keyboard and mouse support.
Well done. I am saving this video as a perfect example of a "zoomer/Late Millennial-made youtube editorial in front of a green screen holding a microphone". Subscribed!
@@sashanilssen well, I'm 46 and I actually went to a local musical instrument store in Portland Oregon and bought a microphone stand with a boom arm so I can set up my desk and position my microphone slightly off frame. This is contrary to all the TH-camrs that have a big ass microphone and they put it right in their face and it takes up like 30% of the frame. But I don't know. I think that there's a conversational style to like holding a microphone and having a conversation and that actually comes across 100% clear in your video. Your reading a script that you wrote but you're also having a chat and it's super chill and very informative. I also think that if it feels like a conversation then people don't care if you mess up a word or two or slightly stumble because that's how normal conversation works
Yeah, at this point i probably not even gonna buy the PS6. I've gotten much more into handheld gaming anyways ever since i got my Switch (And even before i enjoy it a bit more due to it's convenience) and now that i have a Steam Deck, i might as well just wait until all the big Triple-A games become availiable on it and buy it there instead. Sure, graphics and performance might be inferior to current gen consoles, but at least i can properly play it anywhere i want. (Looking at you, cloud gaming) Like, literally the only new console i'm interested in buying is the upcoming new Nintendo console. And it's for a very simple reason... it actually has games.
Yeah I shat on the switch for a long time, but say what you want about Nintendo at least they make games! It's underpowered, sure, but I've probably heard some version of "guys I'd take good games that look worse over bad games that look better." Like 10k times this past year
i feel like the reason every generation gets less and less games is that the relationship between game distrubors and indie game studios has changes. From the perspective of Sony why spend money to buy new ips that might flop when we can just remaster a beloved series and for indie studios why put ourselves in a box of creative control and revenue when we can just put our game on every platform. There are a lot more independent game developers of like 1-5 people doing it for the fun of it as well so thats something.
The irony is rather than buying a PS5 variant of Gran Turismo 7 for a bomb $$$$, I could just get the PS4 disk from some dump for cheap and buy the upgrade to PS5 patch from Sony for far less $$. Big brain move!
I left the console space essentially at the end of the 8th console generation. Essentially, all my friends slowly transferred to PC, and in 2020, while i was deployed, they all had transferred. So i came back to the States and bought a PC during Cyber Monday. So far, ive purchased Ratchet and Clank and Helldivers 2 and Horizon Zero Dawn as my Sony games. 😅
Not to mention budgets and time wasted on remasters of one generation before that can comfortably tun on new hardware thanks to retro compatibility. Nintendo started to remake/remaster on the second half of the Switch, once it got consolidated as a success and they're bringing back really old and acclaimed games... except Tokyo Mirage Fe, I know no one who might actually wanted that game. Then you have Sony remastering uncharted 4... what about the 3 before? Ratchet and Clank Rigt Apart.. the fifth game on a saga stuck on PS3 God of war 2018 to PC... what about the first trilogy? Sony is sitting on a gold mine and is only collecting the pebbles that are at their hand's reach
Now that I know Sony is releasing all of their “exclusives” on Steam. My PS5 is a glorified PS4. Why buy games on my PS when I can just wait a couple years for the superior version to release on PC. I’m not about to buy games twice.
Honestly it's just that this generation is horrible. The most well received games have in recent times continued to be indie or in general less production value games made by smaller studios that care, which are all available on PC. I don't want console exclusives tbh. Because I feel that they artificially rob a certain playerbase from playing a game to force them to invest into a console ecosystem that's just gonna do nothing when that game is done. People should be able to choose a platform for games, be it PC, PS5 or Xbox, and just be able to play the games they want to on it.
Console exclusivity does not provide value to the consumer. If a console wants to compete on value it should offer good features and good specs. It should play games better, or in a unique way such as portably or with some innovative control scheme. Holding games hostage is cheating. It allows companies to make weaker products and still sell them. Exclusives are often necessary, but not for the reason you say. They're necessary because it helps the games get funding. Some games just wouldn't exist otherwise. But even so, it still sucks and should not be defended as anything other than a necessary evil.
We've reached a point in computing technology where creating consoles with significantly differing specs simply _is not_ possible, and all that would do in the end is _hardcode_ console exclusivity into the hardware itself just like what happened with the PS3. Or in other words, recreate the environment of the 3rd 4th and 5th gen of consoles and games, where porting games between systems was an actual honest to god process, meaning developers would dedicate themselves and their titles to the systems that best fit their needs, IE Square jumping ship from Nintendo to Playstation.
Consoles vary in capability, if every game was released on every console then the devs would have to cater to the lowest spec console first. They'd essentially have to develop switch games exclusively and provide upgraded ports for everything else, which would defeat the purpose of buying a high spec console to begin with. Its easy to make a next gen port of a lower gen game, its just a version with remastered textures, you can put an og xbox game on ps5 easy (ex: the new dead rising remaster) but good luck putting a ps5 game on og xbox. Devs complain about this problem on Xbox series a lot, they're asked to make a game for series x but are told it has to run on series s, so they're unable to develop for the full potential of the series x. The same goes for PlayStation, they aren't developing ps5 games, they're developing ps4 games with an upgrade. Console exclusivity, despite lowering consumer accessibility, often justifies the purchase of the hardware, it makes it easier for game devs to go hog wild since they know affirmatively the capabilities of the machine they're developing on.
How is using a product you created as an exclusive to give your console appeal cheating? It's their game or a game they paid to have made for them. Prices being what they are its harder and harder to justify a console purchase. Without quality exclusives it would be significantly harder to convince people consoles are a good choice over pc.
I've owned my PS5 for close to three years now and while I have no regrets buying it I agree with a lot of what you say, particularly when it comes to the games. Nice video by the way.
Currently we don't have anything that highlights the qualities of a PS5 or an Xbox S/X, which is a shame because both consoles are great purchases, whether in terms of cost-benefit or comfort, because there is a security that they will run mostly of the games with a good quality. Building a gaming PC and improving it, is an option that is not for everyone, but it is the place where I have the most freedom to do what I want, the way I want, with the parts I want and the mods I want. Still there's things that i like better in the consoles and things that i can enjoy the most in the PC, but i can just hope the PS5 and X S/X get over this current bad fase.
The ps5 and xbox series are literally just third party machines nowadays. The only reason to get one of these is if you don’t want to build a gaming PC I have a ps5 and I do play a lot of games but they are mostly unrelated to first party party exclusives I guess Sony is the default third party machine to buy which is why they succeed with no efforts but it’s still disappointing to see Sony not even try.
PS5 only games list is not accurate either. As most will come to the PC anyways. Sony shot themselves in their feet time and time again. Not running PS3 games from their disc is such a missed step. It all just adds up. The Nintendo switch is at least a true console like experience with the family. The Xbox is also just cheaper, meaning it makes sense if you really want to have a strong console (lower range PC) for your tv. The PS5? Why bother, when my PS4 still run the games I want and I can just wait 4 years. Saving my money for either a PC upgrade or PS6.
I’ve been a PlayStation only gamer for basically my whole life. I was on the front line in the trenches for the ps3/360 and ps4/x1 console wars. My first handheld was a psp. I got a psvita the year it came out. I was an early adopter of the og psvr. I paid out the ass for a ps5 on launch day. Even I couldn’t justify the ps5 anymore and caved and built my first pc in 2022 and I barely touch my ps5 anymore. I only turned it on to platinum Astro bot and I’m probably not going to touch it again until gta 6 releases. It just doesn’t feel worth it any more to be a console gamer. Especially with how greedy sony is getting.
I love the PS5. I'm a massive fan of 3D platformers and got my PS5 back in June 2021 primarily to play both Astro's Playroom and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, both of which I have the platinum trophies for. Since then I've played mainly games that also released on PS4 such as Horizon: Forbidden West, Elden Ring, Riders Republic, Guardians Of The Galaxy, Crash Bandicoot 4, The Division 2, Tony Hawks Pro Skater 1+2, Nioh 2, Devil May Cry 5, The Spongebob Games, and Street Fighter 6... ...but I've also enjoyed playing Lies Of P, Returnal, Helldivers 2, Final Fantasy XVI, Stellar Blade, and Astro Bot which are all not on PS4. (and the latter two are not on PC either). I also have Black Myth Wukong and the Final Fantasy VII Remake/Rebirth games yet to play. If I got a gaming PC instead, yes I could buy most of those games; but I like owning physical media which PC lacks, and I like the convenience of a console. Plus, I already have a large library of PS4 games. The PS5 haptic feedback and the immersive audio is amazing. Plus, I have a nice big 4K TV and I wanted a UHD Blu-Ray Player to watch films on. The PS5 has a built in UHD Blu-Ray Drive. For me PS5 has been very worth it, for most people who own a PS4, I would recommend upgrading to PS5 at some point but only if the limited number of exclusives matter to you... and by that I mean games on PS5 but not on PS4, ignore the PC. It's a false comparison. No-one is going to give up their established game library and move to PC, spending thousands only to need to rebuy everything. But if you're not already in the Sony ecosystem and are looking for a gaming choice... PC is great. It plays most Sony games, has PC exclusives, Xbox Gamepass, and can reliably emulate older systems and even the Switch. PC is great; but I am still very happy on my PS5... Incidentally I also own an ASUS ROG Ally, so I'm also technically a PC gamer as well but PS5 is my primary system. Great video btw. I hope I gave you the perspective of a PS5 gamer to consider, and I completely agree the PS5 Pro is an overpriced and pointless waste, especially without a disc drive. What a joke.
I bought a PS5 out of simple logic. I did not own a PS3 or PS4, and I currently had the Xbox One, which already gave me access to almost the entirety of any notable game for the Xbox and Xbox 360, the ability to play 8th gen games, along with any of Xbox's exclusives across said generations. If I bought an Xbox Series X, I'd still have access to all those same games through the exact same backwards compatibility, I'd simply be getting future 9th gen titles added in. Already owning an Xbox One, those 9th gen games would be _all_ I would be getting. Buying a PS5, I get access to 9th gen titles _along_ with full backwards compatibility with the entire PS4 library, and any Playstation exclusive releases, such as that Sly Cooper rerelease from not too long ago. And that's on top of the fact that I _still have_ an Xbox One with all the aforementioned games that come with that system. I would've gotten significantly less value out of choosing the next Xbox vs the next Playstation, with how backwards compatibility operates, it genuinely makes far more sense to alternate between generations, as that will leave you with access to pretty much every game that ever gets released on consoles.
If the PS5 is your first playstation console from the last few generations then it's absolutely a win! You get access to so many great PS4 games that you couldn't play before. My video is more from the perspective who has had a PS4 for a good while, and a decent PC
The direction this industry is heading is confusing, and disappointing. I may as well live like its the 2000s, hell I might even buy a gaming PC in the future….
I love my PS5 but damn Sony doesn't cut anyone a break with pricing of anything even it's a failure like PSVR2 or PS Camera, etc... also 4 years in and we still can't get a price drop from anybody, Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo which is the oldest
I feel cheated every time I buy the og model of any PlayStation series, they will immediately switch it up and then drop all the cool shit later like the retro covers and controllers as a bundle with a new redesign or exclusive colors and act like the early adopters of 50 Million doesn't exist. Did the same with the PS3 and it switched so quick by the time I was ready to buy it because of the price drop all of the early features were missing like backwards compatibility and later Other OS, it was less than 3 years
Or you could just do what I did and not buy a system for 15 years. I have so many PlayStation 3 and 4 games to play on my PlayStation 5. I did the same with my iPhone. Skipped 10 years and now I’m so impressed by what this thing can do
When it comes to things like the PS5 Pro just buy a freaking PC like seriously lol. Sony are out of their moronic minds if they think what they did was ok and justified. As for getting a Base PS5 id get it only for the faster loading times and for the backwards compatability thats it but of course thats just my opinion. @Sasha I give your message and video a 10 out of 10
The only reason i would ever get a PS5 (and i would get one used, since where i live i can find the digital slim model for around 300 euros) is mainly because of gacha games and other free to play games, like PSO2, Honkai Star Rail, Genshin Impact, Wuthering Waves, etc, but then... i already have a PC running those so :V apart from that, i see no point in the PS5, it literally has no games to play, between the price, and the fact that instead of pushing for more games like what we had in PS3 and PS4 they just released dead ass stupid accessories like the wannabe remote switch like controller, or now the Pro version, sony has literally loaded a double barrel shotgun, aimed it at their knees and pulled both triggers at the same time. Nothing about Sony's strategy on market and sales makes sense, AT ALL.
I had my ps5 and a gaming laptop that I used 50/50. FPS and story games on ps5 and fighting games on my laptop. I saw the ps5 pro trailer and that shit bothered me so much I bought a pc and fully switched. A big problem with PS5 (I have one... don't throw rocks...) : remakes of PS4 games ! Really ? when I buy a video games, I buy for... new Ideas !! No more ideas , Sony ? Really ? Oh .. and don't start with VR.. It doesn't compute, as we like to say. A really boring generation... And YES, I had more fun with PS3 games... but.. PS5 can't play those games... Ah Ah Ah.. And I want to see with my own eyes, the "added value" of this PS5 Pro... Fps boost for PS4 / PS5 games ? really ?? Strangely , no video in Mark Cerny's presentation.. strange ....
Yeah I agree it's almost like game developers have no imagination or balls to do something new or different instead concentrating on remakes and remasters PS5 in it's present state feels like PS4 version 2
As a game developer, the whole point of making a new console with higher specs is that you can now make games that previously were not possible. So if I were a PS5 Pro developer, I would make a game just for the PS5 Pro that couldn't possibly run on another other system. That is the whole justification of buying the system to get a unique experience that couldn't be possible before. If all you do is just release PS4 games now on the PS5 then that is just retarded.

Let's be honest, the PS4 generation was only good for a few years at the start. Ps5 has been terrible from start
Sees the the requirements oh now I need a new part
PC is clearly neglected with crappy ports my favorite example arkham knight
I don't want to deal with stupid settings as well.
It's the fact that they release them on PC so soon. Nintendo has a bunch of exclusives and is beating Ps in sales by almost 100 mil
Well it makes companies competitive and actually create good games for the consumer so I’ll disagree with you
@@Totino_tonio Nop instead 'Platform holders' started poaching talents from publishers then they started making games exclusive & now they are buying publishers.

Surprised you didn't mention the fact of the lack of the disc drive or vertical stand which costs an extra 110 on top of the 700 asking price

I dont think we necessarily need _playstation_ exclusives, but we _really_ need New Gen exclusives. The XSX is just as much an issue I think

That being said most people I know who buy the PS5 are casuals who don't really care about all these things.
And the cherry on top online is still not free 🤦🏻 just buy a steam deck yall
The PS5 is great, i use the dualsense controllers for my PS2 through the brooke wingman adapter
Fun fact: I don't have a PS5
It's definitely a powerful machine! It'd just be nice if Sony supported it better
The only reason to get one of these is if you don’t want to build a gaming PC
I have a ps5 and I do play a lot of games but they are mostly unrelated to first party party exclusives
I guess Sony is the default third party machine to buy which is why they succeed with no efforts but it’s still disappointing to see Sony not even try.
I'm happy to be one of the first subscribers! Everything you said was spot on.
Did the same with the PS3 and it switched so quick by the time I was ready to buy it because of the price drop all of the early features were missing like backwards compatibility and later Other OS, it was less than 3 years
I am still fully satisfied with my ps2,i use it pretty much daily
what are your favorite games for it
damn, i really want a 7th gen console
Edit: nvm i just remembered i can play ps3 and ps2 games on my xbox
No you don't
Cycle perfect emulation is really hard and needs plenty of horsepower…
Great video. Underrated creator. Channel's gonna' bang if you keep going 🤙🏽
@Sasha I give your message and video a 10 out of 10
What a prestigious rating, thank you very much
The only reason i would ever get a PS5 (and i would get one used, since where i live i can find the digital slim model for around 300 euros) is mainly because of gacha games and other free to play games, like PSO2, Honkai Star Rail, Genshin Impact, Wuthering Waves, etc, but then... i already have a PC running those so :V apart from that, i see no point in the PS5, it literally has no games to play, between the price, and the fact that instead of pushing for more games like what we had in PS3 and PS4 they just released dead ass stupid accessories like the wannabe remote switch like controller, or now the Pro version, sony has literally loaded a double barrel shotgun, aimed it at their knees and pulled both triggers at the same time.
Nothing about Sony's strategy on market and sales makes sense, AT ALL.
Switch 2 is going to erase that failure of a console that is the PS5 lol
They are sending the PS5 to Detroit
I had my ps5 and a gaming laptop that I used 50/50. FPS and story games on ps5 and fighting games on my laptop. I saw the ps5 pro trailer and that shit bothered me so much I bought a pc and fully switched. I immediately cancelled my ps plus membership and now my ps5 is just catching dust since my pc does everything my ps5 does better! I’ve also enjoyed upgrading the thing for my needs.
I’m a PlayStation fan and had one since I was a kid but bro now all PlayStation titles are movie to pc there is no point to have a PlayStation expect probably getting gta 6 early
Spider Man 2 is playable on PC too. Not officially.
@@degrengolada2360 hey stop lying bro it's not on PC that's all rumors it's a virus if you download it
A big problem with PS5 (I have one... don't throw rocks...) : remakes of PS4 games !
Really ? when I buy a video games, I buy for... new Ideas !!
If all you do is just release PS4 games now on the PS5 then that is just retarded.
your content is that of someone who would have 500k views on average, please keep making such well made and original videos sasha and never stop the grind.
Knack 3...that's the answer
Knack is back
KNACK IS BACK
The sequel that will Knack* you out!
Yeh I’m not gonna let a woman tell me what to do
Thanks. You are the only channel that actually breaks down the so called 11 exclusives for the ps5.
I wasn't expecting this quality of video for such a small channel. Great job man! 👏👏
I'm happy with my ps5, but only because of backwards compatibility and I never owned a ps4 before.
I bought a rog ally this generation. The games are cheaper on steam and epic, you get both xbox and playstation games and there are free deals on many games. I got ac sydicate for free.
