One of the biggest problems I see among PhD students, especially in the social sciences, is that some spend all their time reading and writing, in some cases spending years on a proposal, but without getting any practical experience...

This is a different case... in a short I've only got a minute so can't include every nuance! In your case, don't focus on writing chapters. Write short pieces investigating specific issues while you figure things out (make sure each piece has a specific focus so that it's manageable). Then you can take the parts that work and craft them into chapters

Well thanks for the reply.
And I will say that your advice is correct and I am actually doing the things you talk about. I do think your reply to me is absolutely correct.
The overall argument of the thesis is way too big to have a clear narrative/structure right now, until I can gain that specific knowledge. Therefore I'm working on shorter essays/article to gain that knowledge.
Anyways. You are sharing good knowledge. This isn't the first video I have watch of you and I think you're advice is great.👍
