On a serious note about this episode. Reb finds out her father has M.S. (Multiple Sclerosis), and doesn't have long to live. I have been living with M.S. since I was diagnosed in 1994. Now, grant it, the show takes place over a decade before my diagnosis. But, I can tell you why people don't last very long after diagnosis. The cocktail of medication you were instantly prescribed to take was worse than the first cocktail of medication HIV/AIDS patients were prescribed. It destroyed your immune system, killed off your red blood cells & t-cells, and one medication was an untested early form of chemotherapy in pill form, and ungodly high doses of B12. After my diagnosis in 1994, I did my homework on the medication I was prescribed, and refused to go that route, because the drugs speed up the disease, and kills you faster than not taking them. In 1 1/2 years, it will be 30 years that I've lived with my Multiple Sclerosis, and I still refuse to take meds. I live in constant unrelenting pain, but I still lead a somewhat normal life. Every once in a while, when the pain is really bad, I smoke a joint. No, it doesn't stop the pain. It merely makes me not think or care about the pain. And I'm fine with that, as long as I have microwave popcorn & M&M's!
@@rosiew1952 Sorry to hear that. I deal mostly with pain, and sometimes when I stand up, it takes a moment for my legs to decide to function. I've seen 4 acquaintances pass away from it since my diagnosis in 94, because they followed the masses & chose the medication route. And, I tried warning them that the meds actually speed up the progress of the disease. To this day, I still refuse to take anything more than ibuprofen for the pain.
I never noticed before how beautiful Maggie Kirkpatrick is.... when she was having breakfast with Shane, and her hair was down, she was a true beauty. I love the way she can alter her character and appearance just by putting her hair up or leaving it down.... amazing actress.

I have to give Janet Andrewartha a lot of credit for giving Reb such mixed emotions. You don't see many characters in this series who seem to feel guilty about the horrible things they do. It's true that guilt doesn't exactly keep her from being rotten, but it's a welcome change from single dimensional characters like Nola McKenzie and Marie Winter.

Admittedly, the freak is capable of taking people on an emotional rollercoaster. Happy, kind and helpful on one hand, devious, sadistic and evil on the other.
The redemption of Reb Keane begins. It's one of the most interesting and well played storylines of the show, and a very welcome bright light in a pretty awful mess of a show at this point.
yes I've heard Reb evolves into an actual human being later on, that is going to be a nice thing to see, and yes I've seen a couple hints of it already too.
But the writers weren't consistent. Would have been nice to see Reb fleshed out from the troublemaker she started off as to a younger, more polished Myra Desmond but with the attitude of Chrissy Latham haha
It's amazing the difference in personality ya see in Joan going from a cruel harsh disciplinarian towards the inmates to a kind hearted gentle caring person around children and dogs.
That Model looks like English Actress Samantha Womack who played Ronnie Mitchell who was in Eastenders. 🙂if you don't know who l am talking bout just type in : Ronnie & Roxie EastEnders.. But her real name is Samantha Womack . I actually thought it was her at 1st. But they do look alike🙂. To those who don't know about EastEnders - it's a british soap drama in 🇬🇧London in the U.K. 🇬🇧. I know that everyone that watches this channel probably are not from the U.K..
Ꭿmanda Jonεs I'm an Aussie and a big fan of EastEnders. I only just started getting into it a couple of years ago. But I have heard of the name Ronnie Mitchell mentioned. Obviously related to Phil and the rest of the Mitchell clan.
God I hate that "heavy" Frances. Ever since her & Hazel were at Driscoll House together.... I'm usually a big fan of the bit part heavy....... Lou, Bev & Lil, Phyllis, Jacko, Alice "Lurch" Jenkins etc. I wish Reb had bashed her head in instead of Phyllis "The Weasel" Hunts. Lmao.
Bettie Joseph Yep, I can't stand Frances either. There's not too many characters I dislike. But Frances is probably the one I dislike the most, really irritates the crap out of me. Especially those bug eyes she gets at times.
The character I loathe the most....Ferguson.......As condescending, crooked, spiteful, bitter as what she is, her compassion and care for animals and children speaks volumes. Soft spot somewhere in that heart of stone.
0:29 Silly Meg should have overpowered Tracey and grabbed the gun instead of just running for the door. Would have solved the situation. 24:50 That laugh...
The whole cast of Neighbours is in this! Reb - Mrs Skully, Reb's Mum- Madge Bishop (she also played Mum's daughter in earlier;Prisoner Eps); Mrs Mangels - accursed of attempted Murder; Jelly Belly/ Harold - Executive Producer; even Bobby played a love interest of Paul Robinson in the early days of Neighbours (probably shot around the same time as these eps); Meg was someone's mum in later eps of Neighbours.... there's heaps more too... Bobbie came into Neighbours as a plumber's mate working with Max Ramsey. She then went on to become the first Mrs Paul Robinson. Great list from Jules 77, but I think you missed Darius Perkins, the original Scott Robinson and the young lad who got accused of rape at the Halfway House with the domineering mother.

Its amazing how soft Joan's appearance is when she is around kids and dogs. The evil villain of Wentworth is the polar opposite of the Mama Lioness she becomes
Denzil Howson, here playing Harry Pearson apparently played 10 other characters in Prisoner (IMDB confirms this. Harry was the 8th of ten). Was there anyone who played more roles?
Actress who was Madge in neighbours has played at least three characters in PCBH... Mum's daughter, a policewoman, and another I forget at this moment... :-) And Harold Bishop actor who was Ted Douglas in PCBH, returns later as another character albeit briefly....
@38:31 Precisely STEPDAUGHTER so Meg should have nothing to do with her further Considering also she is DIVORCED off her father. It ceases there. So Joan is Right here. Meg deserves it.
Edna's husband is also the actor who played the factory owner, when the prisoners went working on sewing machines etc. He had a thing for Erica Davidson....
I spotted 'Lou Kelly' actress in The Doctor Blake Mysteries recently. Love that show. Craig McLachlan in the doctor role. He played son of Madge Bishop in Neighbours, then left to go in Home and Away to play a teacher at Summer Bay High... :) Man, I'm a nerd lol
Tracey learned nothing by her stint in jail, if anything she is more of a cow than before. Her father is a lot to blame though because he shouldn't have spoiled her rotten when she was a child. This is the result of it..... Marie has her faults but I love the way she controls Miss Rogers and plays her cards right by also getting Ferguson on side. A prisoner who is really holding all the aces, it makes for good viewing.
8ballpoolking1 Oh please! Tracey is a bloody adult. Therefore she's old enough to know right from wrong. WHY blame her dad. Geez, many people have had crappy childhoods. And they all don't go around breaking the law and using their "poor childhoods" as a piss-poor excuse to commit crimes.
Fantastic on itv i love it so much best show ever made me feel happy watching it again bring back memories and the best show ever I love Marie so very excited about Katie Carpenter Prisoner cell block H is coming back for season four few episodes in a week from now on
Why would they bring back “Tracey” if she’s not going to be arrested and sent back to Wentworth? Pointless storyline, especially bringing in a different actor only to disappear again.
Good job ladies on the drawing of the Freak! I bet who did the drawing did the sculpture of the Freak to. That got poor Cass in trouble. So Marie had had someone draw it. Deidre Keen... She played Lorraine Watkins earlier. She was Mum Brooks mom and Judith Ann's mother. It's nice to see a softer side of Joan. I'm glad they didn't keep her just in the prison with out showing what she is like on the outside of work. The at work outside of Joan is a big Bitch, her inside/outside of work is soft and compassionate. Great balance for Joan's character.
Umm, so did Maggie. She went on to play Marilyn’s obnoxious childhood guardian, Auntie Jean in Home and Away. She also went on to play another role in the same programme a number of years later, this time as a governing top dog prisoner. It was like catching up with a new version of Joan Ferguson.
Colin Luby The unemployment rate in Australia was actually much higher then, than it is today, though. The main problem these days is the underemployment. Where too many people are forced to take casual jobs to get by. And there's just not enough full-time jobs to go around. And people are struggling to find 2 or 3 casual jobs where the hours don't clash. Just so they can combine the hours to make up at least 40 hours a week. And have enough money to cover all the bills, food etc from week to week. It's bloody ridiculous, the way the workforce is set up nowadays. And it's even more ridiculous, when governments actually have the audacity to brag about unemployment rates dropping. PFFTTT!! That's only because most people just have to be working a mere few hours a week, and they're not deemed as unemployed. It's a damn joke!
I think the only thing that didn't happen to Meg over the years was alien abduction

Yep your referring to actress Ann Charleston who did indeed go on to play Madge Bishop (Harold Bishop's (Ian Smith's), wife in 'Neighbours'.
Good old Madge! And she played a policewoman here on Prisoner.
One of them!
And here in the United Kingdom was also in the reboot of crossroads and Edna birchs sister in emmerdale as well
Admittedly, the freak is capable of taking people on an emotional rollercoaster. Happy, kind and helpful on one hand, devious, sadistic and evil on the other.
Joan Ferguson and Reb Kean are both enigmatic characters.
Just loving the split personality acting by Maggie as Joan !
So Edna's husband came back as Rita's doctor in the final episodes!
Also Ednas charge was read out as murder lol. Nice to see he can escape death also.
NO SPOILERS PLEASE!!
The picture was a good liking of Ferguson
Bryant is having a laugh if she thinks Marie is going to take any notice of her! Marie is a brilliant character.
+Miss Steele xxx She's a great actress.
Judy's a coward that hides behind her pacemaker when it comes to fighting someone her size
I love reb's face and the james dean poster
Well that's who she's trying to be🤗
She looks like a guy
Rabbit is irritating as anything. Once again we see Joan's human side with the kid and his dog.
David Clovis that is the only time
Joan would make a good mother.
The guy playing Mark is gorgeous. :-)
You're not so bad yourself mate.
Yeah he is, and so are you, mate! ;)
Marie is pure evil. Unsettles me whenever she's onscreen.
She is a brilliant character
To be fair, that is a really good drawing of The Freak!
It's amazing the difference in personality ya see in Joan going from a cruel harsh disciplinarian towards the inmates to a kind hearted gentle caring person around children and dogs.
When did Meg get so funny with all of these sarcastic comments lol.
"Marie's Pharmacy!"
"Button yer beak and face facts!"
"It must have been real crook when Mummy Bunny wasn't allowed to come and visit Baby Bunny."
RIP Janet Andrewartha 😢
Meg. A aspirin and some coffee. The best thing for a hit on the head. 😮
That sketch of The Freak was so funny ! xx
Why cant tracy get money from Bob darling, he's supposedly rich.
I wondered that too. Since when does having Diabetes prevent one from being hired.
Nice advertisement for Coco Pops early in the episode
ugh revolting things... sickly sweet... i never even liked them as a kid
Marie's face when threatening Rogers. So menacing and brilliant acting
I wish Joan would adopt Shane
simosc2 .... that would turn her soft n ruin the storyline xxx
Pmsl.... Reb & Judith-Ann are sisters!!!!
Who’s Judith Ann?
She was mum brook's granddaughter in the very early episodes.
Ꭿmanda Jonεs
I'm an Aussie and a big fan of EastEnders.
Lmao.
Bettie Joseph
Yep, I can't stand Frances either.
There's not too many characters I dislike. But Frances is probably the one I dislike the most, really irritates the crap out of me. Especially those bug eyes she gets at times.
@@ozlass7778 Plus the fact she's a short arse and cant throw a punch. Who'd be scared of her?
The character I loathe the most....Ferguson.......As condescending, crooked, spiteful, bitter as what she is, her compassion and care for animals and children speaks volumes. Soft spot somewhere in that heart of stone.
0:29 Silly Meg should have overpowered Tracey and grabbed the gun instead of just running for the door. Would have solved the situation.
24:50 That laugh...
but that would be violence ....said in a Minnie Mouse voice....lol
Joan smoking in front of a minor. Lol definitely the 80s.
Loving Joan n Shane ......funny good lil actor !
Joan looks lovely with her hair down & a smile

Bobbie came into Neighbours as a plumber's mate working with Max Ramsey. She then went on to become the first Mrs Paul Robinson. Great list from Jules 77, but I think you missed Darius Perkins, the original Scott Robinson and the young lad who got accused of rape at the Halfway House with the domineering mother.
On the list they forgot John lee Andrew Reynolds/len mangel
Beverley Phillips Ken pierce wife/gloria Lewis
Also missing is Maggie Dence who played Bev Baker in Prisoner and Dorothy Burke in Neighbours.
No wonder Meg didn't recognise tracie not o ly did she look Completely different her personality has changed completely too!! 😂 😂 😂
Any reason why Tracey would rob Meg when she's got a rich dad? I don't get it.
Ikr
@@yolandasmith3224 ? What sorry?
If she takes the money, meg should tell her father to give it back.
@@martinjenkins5471 I wonder if Bob "darling" found out?
@@tefllife2024 I hated Bob and his awful moustache!
Shane is so adorable
Charmaine Dempsey he's almost identical to a lil boyfriend i had the same age at school... funny thing was... he was an identical twin... to this day i still dont know whether it was simon or austin that was my bf lmao xxx
Meg is always the one that is held hostage
Yeah true
She has Ann Reynolds to keep her company on a later hostage adventure.
MANY have done deals with Fergo, but they always say dont work with the screws! They abandon prison code whenever it suits them!
I thought Maxine was annoying, But Maxi had nothing on Warren!
I actually grew to like Maxie, even had a bit of a tear in my eyes when she was killed and that last letter she wrote to Lizzie "I love ya Lizzie" sealed it.
@@arlaabrell8658just wait, there’s an even worse one to come 😂
@@sb6678Lexie? Lol
Why didn't Tracy just borrow some money off her dad instead of trying to rob Meg? He's supposed to be a stinking rich businessman isn't he?
What Ferguson decent to a human and smiling at the same time? 😮😮
Its amazing how soft Joan's appearance is when she is around kids and dogs. The evil villain of Wentworth is the polar opposite of the Mama Lioness she becomes
Shane! So this is where the writers of the new Wentworth got the idea for the name of Jihanna's son!
Merilee S
Seems like it.
Button your beak and face facts. LOL
Love Marie's cakkle.
Nice to see The Freak's Jekyll and Hyde act again with her new live-in boyfriend Shane. He's a bit young for her, but! lol
And a bit male
Do they only have a handful of actors in Oz? That ginger woman from Neighbours is playing her 3rd character in this now!
Maggie Kirkpatrick is an amazing actress
Fantastic
You'll hear it when the floor caves in!! 😂😂😂😂
One minute Madge Bishop plays the part of a policewoman in P.C.B.H. the next thing she is playing the part of a concerned mother! Hey?
Winter is bag wind Judy should just kick crap out her
It would take a Bea or Myra to handle the winter queen
That guy holding Meg hostage is Joan's niece's boyfriend!
Marie Winters and Reb need to leave.
Denzil Howson, here playing Harry Pearson apparently played 10 other characters in Prisoner (IMDB confirms this. Harry was the 8th of ten). Was there anyone who played more roles?
Rachel's aerobic shorts leave little to the imagination.
I find it hilarious the way warrens mouth moves when she talks 😀
I HATE Warren! At least Doreen was funny and had a few facets to her character. Warren is just annoying.
So annoying
I also can't stand Warren. Most annoying character yet. This is 6 years since you read my thoughts.
Actress who was Madge in neighbours has played at least three characters in PCBH... Mum's daughter, a policewoman, and another I forget at this moment... :-) And Harold Bishop actor who was Ted Douglas in PCBH, returns later as another character albeit briefly....
Harold is in it 3 times he has a cameo in the last episode as the copper who puts "Ahem" some one in a police car.
like alf from home and away, played flecters mate who tried to kill meg, then play the fellow guy who kidnapped sonya
*****
Ernest Craven governor of Blackmoor,
Ian Smith also wrote some of the best episodes in the series.
40:31 hey that’s the same music that was playing in the disco Susie Driscoll went to many episodes ago 😸
@38:31 Precisely STEPDAUGHTER so Meg should have nothing to do with her further Considering also she is DIVORCED off her father. It ceases there. So Joan is Right here. Meg deserves it.
The badge, Madge!
Joan has lovely hair.
I'm just waiting for Leigh Templer to sing "Calling your name", she sooo looks like Marilyn.
Madge Ramsey is back yet again
Stephen Bradley
aka Madge Bishop.
aka Charlene's mum.
@@ozlass7778aka Madge Mitchell
Aka Henry’s mum and Scott Robinson’s mother in law and Shane’s aunt
Gosh Edna has some of the same characteristics of Mrs Mangle and Ida Jessop
And Greta McCraw from Picnic at Hanging Rock
Edna's husband is also the actor who played the factory owner, when the prisoners went working on sewing machines etc. He had a thing for Erica Davidson....
no different bloke, this guy plays a solicitor later on in the series.
***** loool
I spotted 'Lou Kelly' actress in The Doctor Blake Mysteries recently. Love that show. Craig McLachlan in the doctor role. He played son of Madge Bishop in Neighbours, then left to go in Home and Away to play a teacher at Summer Bay High... :) Man, I'm a nerd lol
Bobbie's hair looks like she got it caught in a blender.
LouJuana Taylor. Or she got electrocuted
She tried to tease it but she just pissed it off
Tracey learned nothing by her stint in jail, if anything she is more of a cow than before.
8ballpoolking1
Oh please!
She dsnt go 2 Wentworth
ThePhantomEMT she played mum brooks' DAUGHTER not her mother lol
Anne Charleston is only 9 years older than Janet Andrewartha .
Really cool 😎
Indeedeedoo, Diedre Kean was also Madge Bishop. I think most actors on Prisoner went on to do either Neighbours or Home and Away.
Or THE YOUNG DOCTORS, SONS AND DAUGHTERS, A COUNTRY PRACTISE, etc !
She was hilarious and over the top as hypercondriac Jean a great actress
It did stay like it, 30 years later unemployment is worst than ever, unless you are ‘special’
Colin Luby
The unemployment rate in Australia was actually much higher then, than it is today, though.
