Blew my own socks off with my first AEB HDR picture with no photography experience and only a week of owning my new Mavic. I have no business making pictures that look good enough for a magazine but here we are. Great vid! deffo incorporate this advise into my growing arsenal.
Your previsualization on the scene that you've taken shows that you've very sharp mind that able to see the beauty of any landscape that many others may not able to see beyond a plain landscape that doesn't have anything to impress at first sight. Some may have the best tools in photography or videography but do not have an eye and mind like yours will be ashamed. I'm ashamed and thank for the eye opening presentation. Bravo!
Lovely in many aspects of that word...the informative values, the narrative and for once..Music that enhances and doesn't destroy a video!! 10/10..Thank you.
Somehow only just caught up with this. A superb video, beautifully shot. Thank you, Andrew. Hoping to put some of these techniques to use in my drone films.
Really enjoyed this - has opened my eyes to the fact you can use a drone for "proper" landscape photography. Incredibly helpful to show us how you refine your settings as you go.
I find your films so beautifully crafted, and that, together with your intelligent, informative, and passionate presentation, makes then a true ‘must see’ experience.
Andrew, I am very new at drone flight and have now caught the fever to learn more about using my drone to catch landscape shots. I have always had that hidden passion for photography. I have found your video very helpful and look forward to learning more from you and your blogs.
Thanks Tim, welcome to the fantastic world of photography. I am so glad you've found my videos helpful. I have plenty more planned for the new year, so stay tuned. If there anything specific you want to learn, let me know, and I try and cover it in a video. Thanks again for sharing your story, cheers! :)
Hi Andrew, absolutely superb, not only is your photography superlative, but your video's are crammed full of information and so good to watch, you are definitely the best channel on TH-cam because you give so much and expect nothing in return so thank you.
Thanks again for another great video , I have a mavic pro I brought second hand and after seeing you videos I can't wait to get out there and give photography a go rather than just footage for my normal videos .
Very thoughtfully as well as tastefully produced. one of the best drone videos ever ! Your work made me want to subscribe to the channel straightaway ! Thanks ever so much !
Great video Andrew with some really helpful tips and insight. A pleasure to watch. You’ve also inspired me to take more drone landscapes. Think I’ll give it a try today. Lovely shots too, that coastline looks like a dream.
Great video Andrew. I've not used my Mavic Pro for still photographs, but think after watching your video I am not using it to its full ability. I'm heading out in about 20 minutes (after my phone charges up) and will give it a go.
Thanks for a great video. Came here via WA Camping's channel and was not disappointed. Will definitely be checking out more of your photography videos.
Great to hear Michael, thanks for your comment. The Mavic Pro is a great drone, I've just recently released an updated video that you might want to check out! 👍
I've just discovered your channel, Andrew. I have been keen on photography ever since I was a boy (long time ago!), but only recently I bought a drone and started to use a flying camera. I love the fun of flying and the new perspectives it provides for capturing images. Many thanks for this video - I thoroughly enjoyed it and I plan to watch more of your postings. Best wishes, John.
As a trained professional award-winning landscape photographer, I found your video to offer lots of excellent tips and great advice. Thanks a lot. Keep up the great work. David Fitz-Henley (Jamaica)
Really nice Andrew! I've been flying a Mavic Pro for almost 2 years, mostly for agriculture use and did not know it shoots RAW. I have never ventured into the camera settings menu. As soon as I saw this video I realized I'm not using all the camera's potential. I can not wait until my next flight so I can start utilizing those features. So glad I saw this video....Thanks.
Excellent tips. Infinite number of vantage points with drones. Battery issues. Can’t always wait as long as you’d like for the light. But wonderful results!
Cheers Ed, with infinite number of vantage points it can be a challenge to decide on the best composition. Alway good to have a few batteries charged and ready to go! 👍
Glad I found you, Andrew. I'm down in Melbourne, and you've inspired me to continue shooting images from the air. After crashing two Mavic Air 2's in as many weeks, I'm looking forward to getting my hands on the Air 2S (hopefully this Friday)!
Hey Peter, welcome to the channel mate, thanks for subscribing and checking out the videos. The Air 2S, looks like an awesome drone, I think it might have the same sensor as the Mavic 2 Pro, which is pretty cool. Good luck! 👍
@@Andrew_marr Thanks, Andrew. Just tried the Air 2S down the Otways today. It’s definitely a step up from the Air 2. I need to get to the Outback, though. Went to Silverton a year ago but was drone-less at the time. Really enjoying your work, mate. Thanks for the warm welcome. 🙂
Hi buddy! I appreciate your tutorial... there is two things i ´ve learned... first... i can set my camera even it is in the air... second feel the nature, feel the sun, and take your time... really helpfull Bro!
That was a beautiful video Andrew, well done, one of the best and simplest, and straight to the point. I have the Phantom 3, but I am having a nightmare just keeping the video signal. Even when it's not that far away, I shoot real estate, and lately, it has been just a nightmare. I have searched everywhere on how to fix this.
Thanks very much for your kind comments and feedback. I haven't had an issue with the signal on the Mavic Pro, I hear the signal of the Mavic 2 Pro is even better.
Mate that was awesome, as a local to the Sth West and owner of the same drone I loved every minute of it. I really need to start getting out and getting some shots
Great video Andrew. I have only just received my Mavic Pro and am looking forward to getting out there with it and taking some amazing shots like yours. Thanks for your information on how to use.
Hi Andrew Happy New Year. I have just bought Mavic Pro2 and smart controller, slowly working my way through the large learning curve. Thank you very much for detailed insight to landscape photography.
Hi Andrew, I'm going to go to Canada and Alaska for 27 days and I really won't to get some great (well I hope they will be) I'm going to use my Mavic Pro and my wife Catherine, will be using her iPhone 6. She has beaten me every time so far. I will look into you previous tuits cause I love the way you about your profession and the way you explain so a fool like me can understand what's going on. thanks your a gem
Thank you Andrew for your time and insights you so generously share. Yes I am new to having this wonderful tool a Mavic Air. Your videos are truly inspiring. Thanks
I spent many years shooting stills and just a 'hint' of GoPro footage. Only just ordered my first drone today (Mavic Pro2) so watching loads of TH-cam about it of course. You shots are so simply done but thanks to the thought and attention to the details and lighting they come out stunning. I have just subscribed.
Great video and nice tips. The only thing you didn’t mention which I feel is really important was about switching to portrait mode and stitching. I would ALWAYS do this. Take you first shot for example.... if you turn to portrait mode then take 2 or 3 shots and stitch them together you overcome the fact the mavic only has a 12mp sensor. You can still bracket each of these shots. When in LR first convert each batch of 5 bracketed shots to HDR then when you have 3 HDR dng’s you stick these together in LR as a pano. This gets you a much higher res image.
Wow!!! This channel has a very cool vibe and fab information for every detail. Well done. ( new subby) Best happiness from nz. 👍🌏👍 Waiting for the book, lol. 😊😊😊
Excellent tips, Andrew! Funny I don't use my drone for photography very often. I initially purchased a drone for that purpose but seem to use it more for video. Lovely location!
Thanks Adam, yeah I still use my Mavic more for video than stills. I love the perspective it can add to a vlog. I get so disappointed when I can't flying it because of the wind or restrictions in the area. Have you ever used your drone to help to scout out a location, I imagine it could be helpful in some of those thick wooded area you explore.
Thank you for your wise words of information, heading on holiday in 2 weeks, wasn't going to bring my mavic but now im gonna give it a bash, thanks mate
I thought I recognised that beautiful coastline! Thanks for a great video Andrew, Cape Naturaliste is one of my favourite places in the world and with restrictions lifted, it’s time to take the Mavic Zoom South! Cheers - Paul from Madeley
Awesome video great pics ,was down there a year ago nearly lost my drone was very windy. You have inspired me to try harder to get pics like yours. Thanks Harry

Thanks for that Jim, glad you enjoy the drone footage. I love flying the Mavic Pro and when editing the footage I still get a buzz out of the perspective and view it provides. Iceland is amazing, I don't think anyone could take a bad landscape shot in that place. Exciting times with a drone on the cards, plus the Mavic Pro 2 evidently isn't too far away! :)
I really enjoyed your video. Gorgeous area you shot. I have 2 Inspire 1’s with an X3 and X5 along with a P4P. I have to get out more for sure. I’m now a new sub. Look forward to seeing what’s next. Take care
