Clever way to spray baste batting to the fabric!

Wow! Would have really liked to see a full view of both binding methods finished so I could choose which I liked better

This was a very thorough tutorial that I learned a lot from. I would not have thought to use two battings. Great idea for a play mat! I followed your instructions for binding with Cuddle from the backing (a different tutorial with Jenny) and both quilts turned out great! I don’t know if it would have made any difference in this project; but it is generally recommended that the clear side of the clips be placed downward on the bed of the machine. The clear side is flat and glides more smoothly.

If you spray baste your batting scraps to the back of the whale pieces, you’ll end up with a smoother stuffed toy

Nice tutorial. However I couldn’t see what stitches you used to sew rough edges on binding. Maybe use a bright color that will show up on screen better.

I used a straight stitch to put the binding on the first go-round, then when I top-stitched the raw edge, I used a wide zig zag, just catching the edge.

Good tutorial about using Cuddle. Slightly bothered that when she did use the clips they were upside down (should be flat side down).

I use them upside down on purpose for the binding as I've found it holds it flatter that way, making it easier for me to sew.

I much prefer the flat side up!!! Like everything, you do what works for you!

What the heck do tattoos have to do with quilting? HINT: nothing at all. Don't be a Karen.
